Back in early 2015, Snell Golf was officially born. Dean Snell, most recently was the VP of golf research and development at TaylorMade Golf, came to the market with two golf balls. The My Tour Ball (MTB) and the Get Sum, both fitting different golfers and price points received not only rave reviews, but since that time, the company growth has been borderline insane.
The team was not resting on the products however and based on golfer feedback they are back with two new products and even a splash of the bold. Rather than tell you all about them, here is Dean Snell talking about each of the new golf balls, the MTB Red and MTB Black.
With Dean sharing the news of the two new golf balls in the lineup, as well as the new yellow premium ball, deciding would normally be the tough part, however Snell thought of that as well and the company will begin letting golfers get two sleeves of each in their test packs when ordered from their new look website.
So THPers, we want to hear from each of you. Which one of the new Snell MTB golf balls do you think is right for you?
Great video Josh.
I like the videos with Dean he’s always so real and down to earth – wearing his hockey sweater in -3 temps in Mass lol
4 piece cast urethane balls that will spin more on approaches? Sign me up!
Need to try the test pack.
Good info straight from the source. It’s great to the see the update to the MTB line. I think the MTB Black is probably for me, but I’ll have to test them out and see.
I know Snell has been working the new balls for a while and I’m excited to put the new lineup in play.
love me some my tour ball, but been waiting for yellow. thanks snell golf.
Ordered 2 dz of the MTB Red, and in Optic Yellow since it was a lot of trouble for Dean to get this done.
MTB Black is be high on my list to try out.
This is exciting news, I can’t wait to try these out! Very interested in trying out a test pack with a couple sleeves of each. Nice new feature!
I am guessing, based on somewhat limited information at this point, that the Black will be my fit. Certainly interested in trying them both to see which one is truly the best for my game.
I like the way he presents information. I think the Red is right up my alley!!
Great to see another tour level ball in optic yellow. The test pack is a great option to ensure you get the ball that is right for you. These are on the must try this year list for sure.
Not what I expected but I am pleasantly surprised. The Red sounds like a winner. Long off the driver and higher off the scoring irons. Cants wait to get these in the bag.
Nice! I will definitely be putting together a test pack!!
Looking forward to the MTB Red. I love the current MTB so I can’t wait to try out these new offerings.
I like the sounds of the reds! Will definitely have to give it a try with the test pack.
i love how dean and the team at snell take customer feedback and invest the time and dollar to make it a reality. the test pack is a fantastic idea and i look forward to trying it out too. mtb was a shockingly fantastic ball that i played for the majority of 2017. it will be fun to have some shootouts in 2018 to figure out whether the red or black will be the ball for me. congrats to dean and everyone at snell for the incredible success. it’s well-deserved!
I just got a box of the my tour ball and love them. will be checking out these in the spring.
I’m intrigued by the red and the high flight/spin on approach shots, but I think the lower compression black will fit my game. I see 6 dozen MTB black in my near future
The rumor of a 4 piece ball from Dean is true! I cannot wait to try these out as I’ve been hitting the previous generation MTB for a couple years now!
Already ordered a test pack, and I love Dean’s concise breakdown of what to expect from each ball. I can’t wait until they arrive so I can put them in play!
I haven’t spent as much time with the MTB balls as I really should, so I’m looking forward to giving these a shot. Thinking the MTB Black is a good one to try once the permafrost up here goes away.
