A few months ago we took a detailed look at the EcoXGear SoundExtreme speakers. If you missed that overview, you can find it here. The company features an extensive lineup of audio options that can be used in a myriad of ways, one of which is for golf carts.
One specific item in that round up stood out to us and that was the SoundExtreme SEB26, and its incredibly unique power that makes installation and usage faster than any others available on the market in this class.
What made the SoundExtreme SEB26 stand out? It features a removable battery pack that offers up to 20 hours of play time. When it’s running low, pop it out, charge it and drop it back in. No need for hardwiring to the cart, no need to worry if you are using your vehicle’s battery power, just pure power and sound.
Obviously as a golf centric website, this isn’t something you will carry with you to the course, some installation is required. For us that involved adding a small bracket to the top of the cart and screwing it in. From there, pop in the included battery and away you go. As golf carts continue to grow in popularity for neighborhood cruising, communities built for them, etc, having a good speaker can be paramount for your enjoyment. This is not a debate of music on the golf course or not.
One month in of use and we cannot say enough good things about the SoundExtreme SEB26. Pairing the device was about as easy as you could imagine. Open up Bluetooth connections, click the speaker and done. SoundExtreme says 20 hours of battery life and in our testing, that seems right on target, unless of course you are using the speaker to charge other devices, which it also does rather well.

Sound is crisp and clear for an outdoor speaker. Low volumes are easy to understand and if you want to go loud, this thing will boom! The lights are a nice added touch, and while we would have loved the full spectrum available on their wired models, the multiple colors do offer a fun variance and can be a nice safety mechanism when driving at night.
We cannot state enough how good the SoundExtreme SEB26 is. Wracking our brains trying to come up with a single negative during testing has left us kind of at a loss. From sound quality to installation to the ability to stay “detached” from the vehicles battery, it is something that seems so easy to think about, yet hasn’t been done as well as this previously.
When it comes to aftermarket playability, along with high quality, this is a brand to keep an eye on. For more information on the EcoXGear SoundExtreme speakers, check out their website at www.ecoxgear.com.
That sounds like a great speaker – pun intended!
Very very cool speaker setup for sure!
This looks like it would be all sorts of fun cruising around, especially if you could get out for night golf, with all the lighting and some good music!

500 watts makes me think of this guy….:ROFLMAO:
Looks cool I’m thinking DJ Kahled could be a Rep!
Interesting. As both someone who likes a little bit of music on the course, and an audio engineer by profession, I am very intrigued by this and would love to put ears on it.
Oh boy…can’t wait to get behind some drunk guys on a course with one of these stuck in the basket.
Just kidding – certainly seems cool for those who have home carts.
My only regret with my golf cart is not getting the SpundExtreme speaker system for it, instead opting for two speaker pods and a small amp. Not only was the wiring much more complicated, but the amp generates a small squeal from voltage noise. And it wasn’t even a cost savings.
This is a much more elegant solution. I would have had this installed in 20 minutes and been way happier. I will not make the same mistake next time. People should really consider this if they want to add music to their cart.
