You asked for it, so you got it.
This week’s Splitting Fairways is going to look a little different. For the first time, we’re skipping the traditional podcast format and going YouTube-only. Why? Because Hawk and I decided it was time to settle things on the golf course.
A few weeks ago, we were both at the Titleist Golf Ball Experience, where we were fit for new Titleist golf balls. With new golf balls in hand, a golf course in front of us and cameras nearby, there was really only one thing left to do.
Play The Match.
Ryan (Hawk) vs Jeremy (Lord Tox)

If you’ve listened to our podcast, Splitting Fairways, you already know we don’t always see golf the same way. That carries over to our games as well.
Ryan is a 15 handicap and I’m a 5 so we’re putting the handicaps to work and playing a nine-hole match on the back nine at Hidden Creek. I’ll be giving Ryan 5 strokes.
Both of us are also putting our newly fit Titleist golf balls into play, giving us an opportunity to see how those fittings translate when the score actually matters.
How did that go?
Well, you’ll just have to watch.
Every Shot. Good, Bad and Ugly.

We didn’t want to drag everyone through an entire round of golf, so The Match is nine holes and every shot is shown.
That means there’s nowhere to hide.
You’ll see the good shots, the bad shots, the questionable decisions and probably a few moments we’d rather have back. It’s golf as we actually play it, with a little competition mixed in.
We had a lot of fun making this one, and hopefully you have just as much fun watching it.
If you enjoy this first edition, there’s a pretty good chance it won’t be the last.
So sit back, pick a side and enjoy the first-ever Splitting Fairways: The Match.

I did too, would have been epic.
The funny thing about that shot. @Hawk got the break of a lifetime thanks to the local rules at Hidden Creek. This was his original lie

Why wasn’t the same offered for your shot?

Because I couldn’t go backwards. You can move the ball in a bunker but can’t go closer to the hole. I would have had to take stroke.

That is right you were in the back of that bunker.

I did try to brainstorm a way to help him out there. He caught a solid break on 17 with GUR. Golf gives and takes.

Boys, this had me in stitches watching while doing some work today. And I mean that in the absolute best way.

Hey speaking of bunkers, did you ever post that video of me (barely) getting out of that tiny bunker on #11?
