Srixon Golf is announcing the US release of two new drivers today, the Z 545 and Z 745. Both drivers have been played on Tour for some time now and will soon be available to consumers worldwide. Both drivers were used by seven of THP’s readers in the recent 2014 Morgan Cup and you can check out the THP forums for their feedback.

The 460cc Z 545 is classified as an ‘all ability’ driver, while the 430cc Z 745 is designed as a ‘Tour’ driver.

Key Technology

Dual Speed Technology

pic3

Dual Speed Technology (DST™) maximizes a player’s rotation efficiency while also delivering more kinetic energy at impact. This is accomplished with the help of a high-balance-point shaft (Kuro Kage Black HBP) and a heavier head-weight. The end result: More head speed, more ball speed, more distance.

Advanced Face Design

pic4

Ball speeds have been maximized with advanced face constructions. The Z 545 and 745 drivers feature a cup-face construction, which enlarges the sweet spot, made with a Ti body and a high speed 6-4Ti face. The Z F45 fairway’s cup-face construction consists of a strong yet light 450 steel body and an explosive HT1770 maraging steel face. The Z H45 hybrid features the same HT1770 maraging surface.

Variable Face Thickness

The face designs create faster, more resilient impact surfaces with added forgiveness thanks to enhanced variable face thicknesses. Thinner heel and toe portions have created larger sweet spots in all Srixon Z Series woods – in the case of the Z 545 driver, it is 35% larger than the previous generation.

Quick Tune System

pic6

Fast, simple QTS™ allows anyone to easily adjust the loft, lie, face angle and center of gravity settings. Use the 12-way hosel to tune face angle and lie along with loft. The adjustable weight port comes standard with a 7-gram weight, and 3- and 11-gram weights are also available to precisely tune center of gravity for optimal launch and spin.

Very interesting. Nice looking, too. That face sure does provide some confidence! Can’t wait to hear more on this one. I’ve never been scared to hit just about any driver out there looking for that little ‘something’.

  2. Jeff Spicoli says:

Definitely want to give the 745 a spin.

  3. Nebgolfer says:

I know a few guys who absolutely loved these drivers on a balmy weekend in July down in Myrtle Beach.

  4. #Cookie says:

Solid looking offerings here. Would have to guess that the 745 430cc model is the lower spinning option of the 2, really happy to see Srixon back in the US with another driver offering as I enjoyed the previous Z-Star.

  5. ole gray says:

Wow what a beauty! I would love the give this one a test drive. I like the non tour version and to have the adjustable part made simple is a winner.

  6. INgolfer says:

Cant wait to see more photos of the 745, I’ve grown to like the smaller heads of drivers. Just like the woods, these drivers look like a beast. Cant wait to hear more thoughts from the Morgan Cup staffers

  7. D says:

Have been dying to try this driver!
