At THP, we believe in putting products into the hands of everyday golfers to gather real-world feedback. We chose 6 people from our forum to test out the Z-STAR golf balls. Each participant selected the Srixon Z-STAR model that best fit their game and spent time putting it to the test on their home course. And, as always, whatever balls survive the testing are theirs to keep.

Z-STAR
If you’re looking for a tour-level golf ball without compromise, the Srixon Z-STAR delivers across the board. The feel around the greens is phenomenal. Off wedge faces, it gives you that soft, controlled feel that lets you attack pins confidently. Putting feedback is just as impressive – pure, smooth roll without feeling clicky or harsh off the putter face.
The Z-STAR holds up exceptionally well. Even after taking wedge grooves and bunker shots, the cover maintains its integrity far better than most competitors in the high-end category.
Joshnoble01 (Z-STAR)
If you are looking for a high quality ball that will outlast the others while competing in all the remaining categories, the Z-STAR is a ball I would give a try.
The Srixon Z-STAR has quickly become a staple in my golf bag. It’s got exceptional durability, outperforming just about every ball that has gone through my bag. Off the tee, it has provided the distance I expect and need while iron shots have given me a combination of control and spin to provide the right mixture for those mid to long irons. Around the greens, the spin has been awesome and the biggest adjustment I have had to make is trusting that I can hit it closer to the pin and knowing it will check up.

From looks to performance through the bag to feel off the club face to durability, the Srixon Z-STAR Diamond has added distance off the tee, consistency with my irons, and distance control to my wedges. Having been a longtime Srixon player, I had high expectations, and the Diamond exceeded them. Srixon doesn’t just make a great ball, they make the right ball for my game.
Paladin (Z-STAR Diamond)
The durability is the best I’ve seen, holding up remarkably well even after finding multiple hard surfaces without sacrificing performance or hardly any blemishes. Outside of durability, where it has really impressed me, is the spin, especially around the greens. It offers outstanding control and confidence on chips, pitches, and partial wedges, making it easy to attack pins.
Coulter (Z-STAR Diamond)
After spending significant time with the Srixon Z-STAR Diamond, I can honestly say it’s one of the most complete golf balls I’ve tested. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give the Z-STAR Diamond is that it inspired confidence every time I teed it up. Srixon has built a golf ball that doesn’t force you to compromise. It delivers tour-level performance, outstanding longevity, exceptional feel, and the confidence to tee up the same ball for multiple rounds.

Z-STAR XV
You might think this Srixon Z-STAR XV is a brand new golf ball, but you’d be wrong. This ball was played for 16 holes without a blemish on it. The Srixon Z-STAR family is the most durable, well-rounded premium ball on the market.
The XV is the highest compression member of the Z-STAR family meant for higher swing speed players looking for mid-flight and low driver spin and it delivers on the promise. Furthermore, it also delivers on being a fantastic all-rounder with strong iron spin to hold greens and surprisingly good green side spin.
