A few months ago, lucky readers of THP that participated in our 2010 Golf Outing & Demo Day got a world wide sneak peek at the transformation of the Never Compromise brand of putters before their very eyes. Never Compromise sent over each of the new models of the new line they call the Gambler Series Limited Edition and the readers were blown away by the overall package. Some going as far as saying that they were the best they had ever seen and played.

Since that time, readers were waiting to find out who would be the first to put the incredible designs into play out on the PGA Tour and this past weekend we got the first glimpse and taste. Who would have thought however that the first time out in a full field event that the new line would pick up a 2nd place finish at the Sony Open?
Steve Marino decided to put the Straight in his bag after some testing and never looked back. Marino went on to post -14 for the entire tournament and finish tied for 2nd place in the young 2011 PGA Tour season. This is something to certainly keep an eye on as the season moves forward. Marino is playing really good golf right now early on and dedicated himself in the offseason like never before. Will this “Gamble” pay off?

Oh the Straight! You will be mine! Oh Yes you will be mine!
Great debut for the Gambler series!
I knew I had seen a Gambler yesterday. What a sweet putter.
nothing better than hearing about a guy who rededicates himself, then proceeds to put the most anticipated putter in his bag, and then finds himself on the first page of the leaderboard for 4 rounds. well done steve and good luck in 2011.
OEM is incredibly jealous right now!
Glad to see some Tour success with the Straight. Just a stunning putter and (obviously) has the performance to match.
Exciting news for Never Compromise and Steve Marino. Not only was this a big hit at THP, but also the Sony Open, great to hear!
Great move by Marino, obviously he was feeling confident with it as he had a great finish this week.
The new Gambler series putters are really peaking my interest. I am looking forward to rolling one at the THP outing in WPB this coming May!
Great ‘debut’ for the Gambler and Steve Marino!
