Everything is getting smarter these days. It started with personal technology, such as phones and watches, and then expanded to household items like lightbulbs, garage doors, and even refrigerators. The golf industry has also experienced a revolution driven by smart technology that not only assists golfers on the course but also helps them better understand their game off the course. With all the useful technology available, here’s a question from Stitch and Bushnell Golf you might not have expected: how smart is your golf bag strap? Well, if you have a Stitch Golf bag, your bag strap is about to become smarter.
Stitch and Bushnell have collaborated to rethink the future of golf bag straps. Before exploring the smart features, it’s important to note that these straps are meticulously crafted from the renowned Touring Fabric by Stitch. With ergonomically padded straps, this will be a perfect addition for golfers who prefer to carry their bags or have a caddie handle the heavy lifting.

“This isn’t just a strap – it’s a game-changing experience. We saw an opportunity to integrate smart tech into the most overlooked part of a golfer’s gear, and we took it to a whole new level. What no one else has, now everyone is going to want.” – Brad King, CEO STITCH Golf.
Stitch Link Strap Features

Bushnell is adding two pieces of tech to this strap to make it smarter than yours. The first is a built-in Wingman Speaker, which not only allows golfers to play their favorite playlist on the course but also provides audible GPS distances. Here at THP, we’ve reviewed a previous model of the Wingman and found it not only to be accurate with its distance measurements, but also to pack a good punch as a Bluetooth speaker.
Recognizing that not everyone enjoys playing with music or prefers audible GPS readouts, Bushnell is also including a magnetically attached Phantom 3 Slope handheld GPS. With the Phantom 3, golfers can view distances to the front, center, and back of the greens, as well as hazard information on over 38,000 preloaded courses worldwide.
Details
For this initial launch, the smart strap has been designed to work seamlessly with any Stitch Golf bag and will be available in single and double-strap options with a price tag of $349. If you took advantage of Stitch’s recent anniversary sale to purchase a new golf bag, these new straps will be the quintessential complement. Although this product is exclusive to Stitch at launch, there are plans to create adapters that make the strap compatible with every golf bag on the market.

It takes the place of a lot of devices.
Strap, Bluetooth Speaker, GPS.
Kind of cool.
Hmmm that’s different for sure. I like it.
Interesting idea. Honestly I feel like most walkers don’t use speakers. But is that because there’s no easy way to bring a speaker along? Maybe this solves a problem for a small subset of golfers.
This is really cool. And a future version to adapt to other bags. Smart.
Now this is some real innovation
It makes me want a stitch bag like yesterday
i mean if you walk, yes. One less thing to carry. but it would also be pretty good for those who push cart
I mostly ride. I’d use this. Right on the bag when you select a club, no fear of leaving it behind on the cart.

Right? I know the most intended buyer is the walker but it makes so much sense elsewhere
This is one heck of a concept. True innovation and I have to say I’m quite impressed

It does help with any golfer too, never leaving anything behind

True, just wondering how well you could hear the music if left in the bag strapped to the back of the cart. I assume cart users would still remove it from the strap to use in the front of cart. But maybe the empty slot when you unload your bag reminds you to grab it?
This is innovation at it’s best. While I don’t see myself using one, this is super cool and I like what they’ve done here.
Is the Bluetooth speaker or GPS unit built into the strap, or does it just pop in and you be a remove it to charge? I’m confused on this.

The charging question in particular is interesting and i’d definitely like to know also. I believe i read it was removable. Otherwise you’d have to take off the strap to charge it, or have the bag sitting next to a wall socket with a cable long enough.
I like the speaker idea. That is pretty cool
The GPS i find doesn’t really change anything. If you walk and carry you can have your GPS / Rangefinder in your bottom left pocket and remove it easily while walking. Having it on the strap might save you 2 seconds. It’s not bad but it wouldn’t change anything for me.
The speaker definitely is cool. If you walk and carry you really can’t have a speaker otherwise.
I think it makes sense for a walker.

The charging part is what is concerning, if it’s built it. Just like all luggage with a built in charger, horrible idea.
I have three Bluetooth speakers here in my house with a carabiner that clips right to the bag. Daughters whole golf squad has them.
I appreciate someone trying something different. And I’m sure it will be useful for some, so I’m for it even though I’m not a buyer.

They both pop out
If I was primarily a walker, I’d be 100% in. Cool product.

Yeah i’ve clipped a JBL onto bags before also i guess. Though the speaker portion of the strap does seem like a genuine product that makes things easier
Well this is nice.
I use my SL2 with a single strap carry for over 75% of my rounds. Love the fact that they’ve thought of us as well.
Neat idea, but I think a carabiner on the side of my bag would be a better form factor for me for less money
Talk about outside the box thinking!
It’s not for me, but for those who it is for, good on them for creating a new way of managing these devices.
This is unique. I’m a little surprised the speaker is in the back and not on the strap opposite the GPS for balance sake, but this would eliminate some extra items carried for a lot of golfers.
I am not going to lie here… it looks like a lot. Like a lot going on. The idea sounds ok, but do I want that level of stuff in the straps? I don’t know. I figure a GPS watch serves the purpose ok, and my phone or speaker on a carabiner does the job ok.
Kudos for thinking outside the box and trying new things, for myself I just don’t think I am seeking a strap alternative to what comes on my bag normally.
This is pretty darn cool, a bit pricey but cool nonetheless
Imagine having something like this when you were 12-15 and walked almost every round. This would be amazing
As a middle age guy who rides most of the time I’m not the target demographic
I honestly really like this idea. Very cool. The GPS and Speaker are held in the straps magnetically which allow you to pop them out to charge.

Certainly unique and creative.
This is truly awesome, love this collaboration!
I love the outside the box thinking.
If I walked a lot this would be on my bag.
If I was a kid and walked a ton of rounds this would be on my wish list for bday/holiday
Looks cool and a great idea.
Outside the box but practical idea. will Be interesting to see where this goes and how popular it is
This is really cool but it makes me wonder how many actually carry a bag these days.
Interssting idea. I wonder how much weight that adds all together. Pretty cool idea. Being as i use a push cart typically, not sure i would go for one, but i do like the thinking behind it.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking weight wise. My Stitch bag isn’t exactly light for a carry bag anyway.
I see something like this and sometimes my immediate reaction is “why”, but when I look at how I actually use these devices when walking I can see the usefulness.
Right now I’m getting into a pocket for a distance every shot. I clip my speaker on to the bag, but the clip is kind of broke and sometimes it falls off. Having everything contained is a cool concept.
As a sometimes walker, who is trying to shift the balance of rounds walked vs ridden. This is a cool bit of tech, and frankly I’m intrigued.
This isn’t for me. But it does remind me of when I was in elementary school a there were a few kids who’s backpacks had speakers in them to plugin your iPod.
Those kids grew up and are looking for exactly this ?

If you are a walker it makes tons of sense. Initially I thought the speaker probably won’t appeal to many but the more I think about it, the people that are actually walking probably will really like this
That’s cool. Too bad it’s stitch
I guess I don’t get it. Seems like a $395 dollar solution to a $10 problem of how do I carry a gps and a speaker at the same time.

I’ve carried with a JBL clip before for sure.
This is fascinating. I like that it is removable (I assume that it stays very secure while walking). Being in the strap, anything that might go wrong can be swapped out easily and not mess with the bag itself. Great idea!

Not a fan?
I love the idea. Not something I would use personally, but if I walked more I’d really consider it.
