Swiftwick Golf Socks & Apparel

It seems as though in recent years golf socks and different accessories have been a very popular item for golfers looking for something a little different. For years golf socks were just that, socks that you put on out of the drawer that match. As technology has made its way in materials to wardrobe and accessories, some companies are touting improvements in areas that we as golfers did not even know they could improve. One company that you may not have heard of before is trying to get golfers to see that there really is more to it than meets the eye. Swiftwick

What do they make
The company is making their presence known in the world of performance socks and have quite a few colors and styles to choose from. They also manufacture sleeve warmers that are becoming incredibly popular with golfers all over the world for their ease of use and of course the fact that they “just work”. THP got a preview of this new brand and has been wearing the socks and sleeve warmers for the last month or so.

Sleeve Warmer
Made up of 80% Nylon, 15% Olefin, 5% Spandex you slide these form fitting sleeves onto your arms. Olefin retains less than .01% of its weight in moisture – so much so, that it floats. This produces a fast drying, lightweight sleeve with incredible breathability, superb abrasion resistance and outstanding wear. Let me just start out by saying that these are the best golf sleeves I have ever tried. Warm, easy to use and the number one thing that I liked about the Swiftwick brand over other brands I tried, is that they stayed up the entire round. No fidgeting to get the sleeve to stay or gel type of band to hold them in place. They go on and stay on for the round and keep your arms warm in the process. This is now a product that I keep in my bag at all times for days when they might be needed.

They come in two sizes of 17″ and 19″ and cost $24.99

Socks
Made up of 80% Nylon, 14% Olefin, 6% Spandex these look and feel thin to the touch. As mentioned above Olefin produces a fast drying, lightweight sock with superb abrasion resistance and long-lasting durability. The combination of all three materials helps create a softer, more comfortable sock with incredible breathability for everyday wear. If you prefer a real thick sock, then I can tell you that these might not be for you as a golfer. With that being said, if you prefer something thinner and extremely comfortable, then I urge you to try out the Swiftwick socks. I have one problem with other brands of socks during a round of golf and that is that they tend to slip down during the round in the heel area. It can cause discomfort and issues the sock slips into the heel of the shoe. This is the first sock I have tried at this height that did not have any issues like that at all.

The socks come in multiple colors and style options and start at around $10.99 per pair.

Overall
The company is definitely on to something with their new release of goods. Both the socks and the sleeves lived up to the hype presented to me, with the sleeves surpassing that hype by miles. WIth the price being quite good in comparison to so many other “niche” brands right now, these could be worth checking out. For more information on Swiftwick gear, check out www.fairwaystyles.com.
