Fresh for Fall 2024, TaylorMade Golf is announcing the upcoming release of their newest wedge, named Hi-Toe 4. This line is built with confidence and consistency in mind. By incorporating both improved technologies and a new grind to complement existing options, the company is seeking to help as many players adapt to as many types of course conditions as possible.
“Hi-Toe wedges are a great option for any player who gains confidence from a wedge with a larger face and full-face grooves to ensure maximum spin regardless of where you strike it on the face. Now with Spin Tread RAW face technology and a new array of grinds, the Hi-Toe 4 has more performance and versatility than ever before.” – Matt Bovee, Global Category Director – Irons and Wedges

TaylorMade believes that both the large face shape and full-face groove design of the Hi-Toe 4 wedges will give players, whether they have a low, mid, or high handicap, the utmost confidence at address. The company knows that confidence breeds success. With the larger surface area, players can feel confident that they make solid contact, and the expanded groove section ensures they can produce ample spin when manipulating the face.
We all have a different idea of consistency. Some players, for example, may just be looking to make consistent contact. However, when it comes to consistency, TaylorMade is looking deeper. They are trying to deliver consistent spin, launch conditions, and turf performance with a variety of technologies.
Hi-Toe 4 Raw Face and Spin Tread

The Hi-Toe 4 wedges incorporate a handful of technologies designed to deliver spin from a variety of conditions, and while using different face orientations. Their Raw Face Technology is intended to rust, and the company believes this positively impacts spin performance. New to the Hi-Toe line this year is Spin Tread Technology. This laser etching process is designed to promote consistent performance in both wet and dry conditions. This is a technology that can really make a difference, even if just on dewy grass, and we anticipate golfers will find much to like about it.
Toe Mass Pad

We’ve seen a definite trend from companies trying to move weight higher in their wedges, and TaylorMade is fully invested in the concept. A higher center of gravity tends to do a couple things: first, it lowers launch angle at impact and second, it tends to result in higher spin rates. The Toe Mass Pad is how the company achieves this with the Hi-Toe 4 wedges. The very prominent upper toe-section is thicker than the rest of the back of the wedge, effectively placing more weight high on the club head. This is a proven way to achieve the specific goal of creating a more penetrating ball flight for almost every type of player, from Tour professionals to high handicaps. The company specifically mentions its benefits to players that may have a scoopy swing that results in higher-than-optimal launch angles.
Milled Grind Sole

Hi-Toe 4 will come with five different grind options on the Milled Grind Sole. This level of versatility enables fitters to match the ideal wedge to both a swing and course conditions. TaylorMade mills the soft 8620 Carbon Steel to ensure the most precision possible. The grind options include:

ATS – ATS stands for All Terrain Standard grind. It’s a full sole with four-way camber and is designed to be a great all-around grind for a variety of swings and conditions.

ATV – This unique grind features asymmetric bounce and a shallow scoop in the center to keep the leading edge low for tight lies. At the same time, the trailing edge has enough bounce to avoid digging.

ATX – This is a brand-new grind option and features three defined sections that allow its wider sole to play like one with a mid-bounce profile. This grind will benefit better players that play in medium to soft conditions.

ATC – ATC stands for All Terrain C grind. It features a C grind at the front of the sole which will play as lowest bounce option. The reverse C trailing edge incorporates both toe and heel relief for ease in opening the face.

ATW – ATW stands for All Terrain Wide and it’s built to create the most forgiveness in soft conditions and sand. It should be especially helpful for mid to high handicap players with steep swings.
Custom Options
In addition to the various loft and grind options, the Hi-Toe 4 line comes in four different finishes and accommodates custom stamping. Taylormade is particularly proud of the Aged Copper finish, which they believe allows consumers to play something that stands out in the bag. Other finish options include Chrome, Black and Raw. Golfers can now add up to 20 characters, along with logos, to the Hi-Toe 4 when considering custom stamping options.
It’s also important to note that every SKU in the Hi-Toe 4 line will be available in both RH and LH configurations, though certain grinds and lofts in LH will need to be custom ordered.

Got to play around with a 58* in a PGASS and man, the new groove pattern is sick. I have no clue what’s going on with custom order option as a 54* ATS head (stock in each of the first 3 iterations) shows a date of 1/5/25.

On launch day they had the lefty atv 60° customized as being a late October delivery. Because that was so far out I kept checking and it dropped to I would get it in a few days. So I ordered it then. I had it in hand a month before the original estimated date. So it’s possible they will get heads in and that they will ship way before then.
Customized the raw finish after my daughter and love how they turned out
I know they’re fresh grooves but I’m blown away by the spin and stopping power on these. Lots of low flighted, hop and stop pitches all day

I picked up a 56-10. So far love the spin and versatility.
Really nice looking clubs.
Just put a 58* ATS grind ( Modus 105 R ) in the bag to replace my old ’19 PM Grind that is worn out.
Spent an hr of chips and pitches yesterday and I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Looking at these a lot. playing a mix of grinds in Edel but comparing these and the Opus a bit today. Not having a 48* option hurts a bit as I need that to fill a gap. But I can also either keep my Edel 48 or look at an Edison. The 54v has been really good but the 58 has been problematic for me. But who doesn’t need 3 sets of wedges depending on the day?
but will be doing a bit of a comp to the 56 X and C grinds and the 60 S and V grinds.

how high is the toe on the 50 degree?
I find that an odd loft for a high toe but it’s possible it’s a lot more subtle on that one
I’m very interested in these wedges

Left is the 50, right is a 60. It is not as pronounced as the 60

It is noticeable to my standing over it but it didn’t show well in a picture. Definitely makes the idea of full shots with it easier

As @GoodGriefMan mentioned the 50* looks like a normal wedge with more traditional shaping.
Highly recommend picking some up but picking the right grind on these is very important

Downers usually doesn’t have a big selection of TM wedges, especially compared to vokeys or Callaway. I made that mistake earlier this year at Downers and grabbed some MG4’s that weren’t the grinds I wanted. Avoided that this time and ordered direct from TM

Yeah. They do on the woods and irons for sure. It was tough. I wanted to trade in and I wanted to address a few models and just get a view of them while I was there. But without the X version in the 56 and the V version in the 60 I couldn’t pull the trigger this time.
That’s exactly what I have and feel they’re the best options in those lofts
60 ATV was great both from tight lies today and soft sand
I just sold my Opus wedges and personally feel the hi-toes are better for me
The wedge grind thread a couple of days ago got me thinking. I think I am a TM hi-toe wedge guy now. Unless they stop making them or somehow massively screw up the design if I’m spending my money on new wedges they will be like for like new hi-toe from TaylorMade. I’m done searching for wedges. I like these a lot and they work well around the greens.

I’m going to wait and see when I can get them. Traded some clubs to fear some Opus wedges and I’ll wait to see when I can find the hi toe and do some competition.
I had some tournament credit that I had to use up and decided to nab a 58* in the ATC grind. Wow, what a great wedge. Winter has set in here, but I messed around with it in a grass field during lunch and will be putting it in the bag next week when I head south for the holiday.

I’m very impressed with these so far. I was excited to play the Opus Platinum’s but they were not as special as I was hoping and kind of a let down.
I dont know what it is specifically but the ATX and ATV just get better through the turf for me. I still dont love the look of hi toe wedges or full face grooves but i think that will fade with more time
I know i said i’d get the RTZ but i caved and order 52-56-60 in RAW finish through their custom department
I did a Mega Man theme of my 3 favorite mega-man bosses and their weapon. I’m really psyched…..TM says mid Feb ship date
I liked the TM customization options better than Cleveland

Well that’s good news!!!
I always liked the Hi-Toe, happy to finally grab some. I’m psyched for the custom aspect also. They’ll match my P7CB nicely
My Hi Toe 58 RTC 8* is one of the best lob wedges that I hav ever played. There is nothing that it won’t do for me.
