At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.
The new SLDR driver had a very quick adoption at the Tour level and early feedback was extremely positive. THP sent out 5 drivers to members of the online community to test out and review.

Some awesome feedback thus far, I can’t wait to keep following along. Reading reviews of THP members is a great way to learn about these great clubs before you choose to purchase. I never would have thought more loft would equate to more distance!
I’ve read some great reviews on the forum site. I’ve only hit them in the local golf store. Ss 103, back spin 2000-2400, ball speed 135-140, carry 240, total 260. Can’t afford to spend money on a new driver now. Next year?
Striving for distance as I get older {64} I popped for a SLDR, about a month ago. I normally hit driver pretty decent 240yds and occasionally pop it over the 250 and once hit a 274yd slightly downhill with a breeze behind, my record best.
First time out with the SLDR playing in an invite comp team of 4, hole 8, 399yrds, breeze behind and slightly downhill I drove a very high ball, leaving 93 yards to the hole. I could hardly believe it, my first drive over 300yrds.
I have now repeated this 3 other times since, on other courses, absolutely incredible. Thankyou to the designers at Taylormade.

Had this driver for a few rounds and have to say I am really liking it , coming from an rbz1.. I had hit some impressive drives with the rbz , longest being around 350 but switched shafts from stock xstiff to aldilia stiff and got more feel , butmy stock rbz 3 wood tour stiff started out driving it at about 290-300yds….picked up sldr with stiff shaft and got some of my old distance back…. been bombing them with the sldr set all the way to draw ….but still getting a baby fade…. either way , still liking it and still got some tinkering to do…also lofted to to 10.5 or 11 …can’t remember..
The comments about the driver’s consistency & length are appropriate. It has one major flaw, though. The SLDR emblem on the bottom of the club is a stamped metal emblem. After a little use, the emblem will peel away from the club and 2 sharp points will appear away from the club. This is a major design flaw that Taylor Made needs to fix.
@Mark Brittain: Why is the bottom of your driver hitting the ground?
Sorry I can’t agree with the previous postings. I was fitted with a SLDR in San Diego with a special shaft and grip etc. I can’t see that it works as well as my old Pinf G2. I spent a lot on the club and I am very sorry I did. Wish I had not.
I think the admin of this web site is actually working
hard for his web page, for the reason that here every data
is quality based data.
