I have a 9w already and am pondering reworking my bag a bit to change my wood setup.
I do not hate this idea. I would make sure you have the club fits a need

Right now I have a 16.5* 3w, 17.5 5w and my 9w at 22* (it is 23.5 with loft taken off). The 9w replaces my 4i. I am thinking of going mini driver for 3 or 4 holes on my course. Adjust my 5w to 16.5*, add a 7 around 21* and maybe adjust the 9w back to 23.5 or 24. This might take the 5w out of the bag.

Trying to follow along some. Not going to lie that I’d be curious to see what an RB would do paired with the GTS2.
Sorry for my major delay and not doing what I was hired to do. Unfortunately the excitement took away from the preparation and I ended up chasing my old unhealthy self for the entire event. That being said, I wanted to circle back and hopefully provide some insight to anyone new to THP and possibly entering and event or being lucky enough as I was to get a Golden Ticket. Don’t do what I did, for the most part.
My trip started out early (Monday). I arrived and decided I would tour Pinehurst as I awaited more guests (players). First big mistake. Spent about 6 hours checking it out (without hydrating). The Titleist shop was cool. Though I wish it had more clothing. Talking with Josh @ Titleist, he had heard the same thing and I believe they are looking into it. After my long day I picked up Raiderboost. We had dinner (that didn’t agree with either of us) and called it a night.
Day 2 (Tues) was the kick off day. We grabbed the rest of my group at the airport and meandered our way back to Pinehurst (had time to kill) and checked it out. Did a bunch of putting and met @SVonhof there for a chat. Was awesome to get to meet another THP’er. After a few hours, the time had come to head to Dormie. The excitement was building. As we sat at the front gate at 3:53, we kept looking at each other like “do we ring the bell”? We decided at 3:56 we had waited enough. Sad part, I wish I had taken a picture of the gates opening. That was the plan. We rolled in, they took our car and luggage and we did some pre introductions before some went to catch a breath (me) in the house and some rushed off to the range. Dinner was at 6:30 so we had a little time. Cottages were just as you’ve seen in past video and pictures, just completely off the chain and there would be nothing that you would need. Nothing. Dinner came at 6:30 and we were all buzzing around the bar (1 room over from dinner) not knowing that we were late and no one came out to say “come on in”, so we were not late for that as it was posted. Just saying. As we walked in (or tripped over one another I should say), we walked to our “places” and stared at the box and bags in front of us until someone said (I believe JB) to get to opening. I don’t know if we were afraid or just star struck that it was happening. We spend about 25 min just absorbing what we were being given. The dinner was, as you saw, incredible. Based on my heat stroke going on, I was 99% water and 3 pieces of that crazy good Tomahawk steak. I really tried to get into it but I was hurting pretty bad. Made it through the dinner. Had some awesome conversations about what we had gotten with the Titleist Team (how cool was that), then it was off to some night putting. I haven’t been impressed with Scotty’s but I will say, I ordered a OC5 that next morning. What a great putter and opportunity to investigate and change my mind. Once we all had worn ourselves out (me first), it was off to bed so we could start that train early the next morning.
Day 3 (Wed).
Started off with some breakfast. Still could not get anything down but water (and a coke). Grabbed a banana and hit the range because we were all chomping at the bit to get these new woods into action. The range filled up quick. Bombs flying everywhere. The chatter about each persons swings with the new clubs was just excitement. We got them swings in and the time came to play. In typical fashion, we all went to the first tee to watch everyone tee off. One of the best parts. I/we had the opportunity to play with each of the great folks from Titleist. In fact I believe the girls shot their best rounds ever and I just happened to be in the group when they did. I’d like to say it was “me”, but we all know better. I loved it. I hit the snot out of every shot with the new woods. Even my bad swings (off center) went the distance and not too far off line. So even the bad shots were good. Crazy but true and I was in love the first round. But as the temp rose, so did my dehydration. I swear I was drinking so much water I thought they would cut me off. LMOA. After the morning round it was a quick lunch and a little time to try and recalibrate. I did my best but just couldn’t get caught up. The second round was almost a full one. Played with JB, Josh, and Paddy. Man do these boys like to move (play fast). We pushed as hard as we could until we hit a log jam and decided to cash out. Though JB hooked us up with something I’ve never seen, a icey with electrolites. Wow, what a game changer. Had one and almost immediately felt better. But I only had one and that feeling was short but sweet. Dinner and AMA was on the horizon. So we cleaned up and prepared for that. Another killer dinner that I had “zero” of (that is the worst part, not being able to enjoy the exceptional menu that was put in front of us). That was truly painful to experience. I made it to about 9:00 and had to excuse myself and cashed out for the evening.
Last Day:
Woke up with a little bit of momentum. Got showered and off to breakfast. Managed to finally get some food in and get some “stones” to try and recover this trainwreck I created. Got to play with Jtox that morning which was cool. I actually started to hit the ball a little better and enjoyed that round the most, because I felt I was actually human at that point. Unfortunately, and like clockwork, it was the last day. We had a great time and I had about 6 of the freezy pops (which helped big time). After that, we were pretty much done. Time to shower, pack, say our good bye’s and head to airports.
My Lessons Learned (For newbs):
*Always make sure you are prepared for the weather that will be happening where you’re headed (heat/rain/cold). Make sure you have your health in accord (unlike me). You want to have the best time ever.
*Understand that you are there not only to enjoy your benefit (offered by THP), but to support the site with questions and insights for those that aren’t as fortunate to be where you are. They may be one day and should know how to conduct themselves and service the needs of THP and it’s clients (the sponsors).
*Always be respectful to the staff at event locations that take care of you. Tips & kindness go a long way.
*Take lots of pictures (which I didn’t-boooo) because the opportunities don’t come often in life. I’m sure you want to have the memories and I know the THP Community would love for you to share them so they can day dream about a possible opportunity down the road.
*Enjoy life, it only comes around once.
In closing, I can’t thank the THP Family enough for giving me this opportunity. I hope all had a great time there and a great time watching from afar. It is truly a life altering opportunity. I met some great people (especially my roomies who had my back as I struggled-I owe you more than you know) and I hope to cross paths with all of you again. Though I wouldn’t expect it to be an event due to my unfortunate “lack of input” during the week. I expect that, I created it. I will wear it.
Thanks again all and THP. I will be forever in your debt for this memory.
Cheers
Shendy.

It was good to meet you as well. I am sorry to hear about all the health issues you had during your visit. Being from Michigan, you are used to humidity, but the combination of heat, humidity and not properly hydrating can be very detrimental, as you know. If you also have some “food issues” causing other issues (:poop:) it can dehydrate you even more.
I know you still had a good time, but it was marred by the decisions, and it detracted from could have been an even better experience for you.

the bolded part strikes me as one reason to favor brand specific fitters…
at the same time not all equipment works for every golfer…
How do they handle it if legit something from another brand might offer advantages and do other brands reciprocate?
Not only brand specific but trained. Titleist trains all their fitters. It was very evident throughout the fitting process that everyone shared that the message was the same. That is something I had not seen before.

I had the chance to hit the sim for two hours yesterday as it was raining. First swings since the event. It was some of the fastest ball speeds and swing speeds I have ever seen. I hit 107.5 swing speed on one and seeing that ball hit the mid to high fade window my eye likes to see. The woods. Oh the woods. I am addicted to the sound. I had the pleasure to ride with Josh with the marketing team. First off great ball striker and even better stories. I found myself telling him about my experience with the GTS lineup and the word that came out of my mouth the most was SOUND. Somewhere on the back nine I caught myself and was like “man I keep using sound to describe these clubs” Josh responds with “look we could but ear plugs in and cover the look and you would never be able to tell what you hit.” This really hit me. We all have that expected experience after making contact weather that is feel sound or turf interaction. The sound for me is most tied to “feel” and validated by Josh. Anyway on the sim I was hitting the 3 wood and 5 wood just so good. High flying high spin to hold greens.
Totally agree with the “sound”. Previously I was so impressed with the sound of a Ping, but that thought is loooong gone. It’s been so long since I’ve had a Titleist Driver (or woods) in my bag. The impact is so awesome and the sound is that of “penetration” (don’t get carried away-lol) and I am absolutely thrilled to hear it every time I launch it. And it “launches”, that’s for sure. The silver face (which I have on repeat in my head) is just such a great advancement for me. I’ve said it 1000 times there and I’ll keep saying it here. The change it’s created to be able to cleanly launch fairway shots is awesome. That’s been my biggest struggles as of late (fairway shots), but no more. Besides the increased speed and forgiveness of the off center strikes, the fairway face profile is incredible to me. Give them a whirl, you will see what we are all talking about.

Cheers
Shendy.

Lesson learned….don’t trust the recommendations from the front desk…especially if it’s the Babymoon Cafe. Unless morning sickness is your thing as it’s included with every entree.
My wife was tracking us and she thought it was a strip club. I told her faaaaaar from that. lmao
I'm done with Hilton. Your gig was better and cheaper. And the pool was closed too. Ugh.
Was so enjoyable playing with Stephanie and Jacqueline. Such classy ladies and dang, can hit the ball. Even carrying extra baggage (Jacqueline) and didn’t miss a beat. They both said they played their best rounds ever with us so that is awesome. And smart, way beyond my intelligence. I learned so much from them (and Josh, sorry lol).

There’s no pictures on the score card as they say
Most would know the situation if you’ve played the hole. There was no room for error. Downhill to start and then really downhill past the hole. I don’t worry about how it looks, it’s what your score is. I go over the “odds” a lot when deciding on tough situations. Learned that from Lefty, not that he’s a good mentor for decision making lol.

This, I’m so pissed I missed THIS. I wonder if that’s a “store buy” or someone made them there. I need to get some stat. I heard about these then it was too late. SOB.
My wife is spraying Dormie Scent right now, happy.

Contest reminder:
The guys all decided we want to have a contest, since this is not a competition it’s harder to have a contest (no, it really isn’t). So this is what we are thinking.
2 winners
1 will be whomever the group feels contributed the most during the event – not just post numbers but discussion/engagement.
1 will be for a new member – you do need to be an albatross member see this link (https://www.thehackersparadise.com/…/the-2026-albatross-club-is-now-open.8976075/) to join if you are not already a member. We will choose from the top say 5 new member posters (new being anyone who joined THP in 2026.
The prize(s) will be something or somethings from the pro shop and we all know that proshop stuff from Dormie Network events are great prizes.

Why did I quote myself??? We have winners of our participation in this thread contest.
The guys reviewed the thread, and we put together a list of the most active and most active newer members in the thread and did a RNG to choose winners.
The winners are
@Bryndom and @Meryn
If you two would please PM me with your name and address, I will see that your prizes are shipped this week. Again, and to be clear, the prizes and contest were and are a result of all of the members of the Titleist Experience at Dormie Club 2026.

So, thanks – and when you think it can’t happen to you – remember, it can – and when it does, it’s glorious.

Man, I missed sooooo many things – I got so overwhelmed that I just looked for a quick snack and something with electrolytes. Bummer.

Nice! Congrats @Bryndom and @Meryn!
Oh wow! Thank you so much!!!
I just got home from golf and had a package delivered! Thank you all so much. Pinehurst tees too!!! I really didn’t think I’d be as active on THP as I am. I just wanted a golf website to occupy some time. It turns out what keeps bringing me back are the people here, now granted going into some threads is like walking into a room full of Dads haha!, but everyone has been very accepting of me and treat me just like another golfer. Now I need to get to an experience so I can wear the Dormie hat!
Thanks guys!

@paddypearls got a new putter and I bought GTS 2 3W. Whatever Ttitleist put in the water a bunch us purchased more Titleist gear . How sweet is the new Black Finish on T series irons. I would love to see if Josh from Titleist put them into play
have been absolutely loving it so far
stroke feels less robotic, speed has been great
See my discussion in the last Cameron putter thread. I’ll be rolling a 9.2R very soon. I’ve got weights, a replacement shaft and grip ready to be purchased. By the end of August my bag will be 100% Titleist
HA! Glad to see I wasn’t the only one, I bought an 11r OC after Dormie. Biggest problem is I also want the 12. I have a current preference to center shafter mallets, but after using the 12 on course it is in high consideration. The one they let me borrow was 35″ and I play 33″ so I was a little off but still loved the feel. I think one in my length and weighting would be so good. I like the 11r OC a lot though but we’ll see how long that lasts. :ROFLMAO:
It’s been a little over 2 months since this awesome experience and many my confidence with driver couldn’t be higher. I’ve never hit driver as well as I am right now. It’s. It even close either. My FIR is up drastically but more importantly my balls out of play are way down.
I do now have some confidence with my FW’s as before this my 5w had pretty much none and was just there to hold a cool headcover from my bachelor party trip. The 7w has really become and asset and Gilles the role I needed which is what I was hoping for.
