Went to the golf galaxy free fitting event today. Looks like I’m getting a lot of spin. They didn’t have the Diamanas to try but tried the Denali Blue 60S and the Fuji Pro Black 60S and I think I’ll be going for the WB as the Denali Blue was too high spin (106 CHS, 152 ball, 3620 rpm, 17.2 launch). Fuji black was (106chs, 156 ball, 2775 rpm, 13.8 launch).
Fitter said at 106 I’m prob closer to an S than an X. So now thinking maybe WB 53 S. Any thoughts from the experts? My miss is an OTT slice or pull.

Shaft isn’t going to influence spin like crazy, but at over 17 launch with 3600, it doesn’t appear it’s an angle of attack thing. Have you considered lofting down and/changing balls

I usually play 10.5 and tried 9* today. I was using their balls which was a pro V1. I usually play vice pro. Any recommendations on ball?
The Fuji black did bring launch angle down to 13.8 and spin down a bit which is why I’m leaning towards the WB

I don’t think flex is the biggest part. Guessing blindly I would say if you are over the top of miss is a hook/pull, go S and if it’s a massive fade go X.

Yeah I’m looking at the 53
@yoose it sounds like I am you and you are me. For the same reasons I am leaning WB 53 X. I’m usually a touch faster as well, reinforcing the X idea.
Still hoping to hit something before the 17th but if I can’t (which is likely as weather looks pretty awful for the next week) that’s probably my move.
The one thing I cannot stress enough is that just because someone goes lighter, it doesn’t mean they have to go stiffer, strength and stiffness are not the same thing, and with composite materials flex and weight are independent.
While ai have no idea if anybody is doing that here, the thought gets posted a lot on THP. It’s completely wrong. As an example, i’m going into the 50s and my flex is not moving
Moved back tees today to 6500 in preparation for this event! Tomorrow At 10am I will be swinging the Diamana shafts I am excited!
Man, hoping they have time to rebuild Philadelphia after last night before the event so we still have somewhere to fly into. 😉

Played while on vacation and the WB 53 TX did some damage off the tee! Very curious how the RB will compare once I get it!
Pretty sure a couple of the guys were going to hit Diamana shafts this week. Cant wait to hear how that goes. I got the WB tipped with the FF33 and in the Max K ready to go try that out today after work

Gonna set it in A1 and have some fun. It was a good fit in my Darkspeed, just a little lower launch than I wanted. Cant wait to see what it can do with a little more flexibility in the setup
I went to hit the Diamana WB, BB and RB today. I was able to hit them in the Cobra Max K 10.5 head that i play and i set it to my FF33 adapter setting which is G1. I really don’t like hitting inside it just never seems to go well for me but i got some good swings in regardless. Getting to see all three of the Diamana shafts in person was cool they are some of the best looking shafts on the wall.
We started out with the RB is the 53S. I was hitting shots which were getting some serious height for me right at 100 feet high but the spin was over 3k and as high as 3400 and the decent angle was over 40*. He then wanted me to try the BB. We hit the 43R2 he did not have the R1 to try. I had a much better dispersion even with a rough swing happening. The height settled in at about 85-88 feet and the spin was just over 2500. The lowest height i saw was 70 feet from the BB. I did heel one pretty well and that kicked the spin up but the push right would have been playable. I felt that the BB had a much smoother feel to me for my swing and was very stable i could time it up better.
We moved on to the WB in the 43R and i did not hit this well. Lack of height and it just felt way more stiff to me. I only took 3 swings and we both agreed the WB was not the right fit for me.
I then asked to try the 43R RB on the wall. Once again the RB was really high in ball flight which it should be and with high spin again for me. The softer tip in the RB was noticeable to me but not in a bad way at all. I did like the weight of the shaft though so we switched back to the BB in the 43R2 again. The second round with this set up gave me the longest carry and rollout. I was getting 225 carry with a 250 roll out on the sim. My smash factor was always 1.45 or higher with this shaft also. My Decent angle was always about 35 which he said was good.
The 43R2 is a softer flex(senior) from what he explained to me. I typically live in the low 90’s to mid 90’s swing speed so the R flex shafts have been working well. After we discussed the results a bit and how i liked the feel of them i will be going with the 43 series Blue board in R flex. I will play the same length as i am now which is the stock Cobra length as that has been really comfortable for me.
I am glad i got to try them out. Having the 3 options in that line to choose from is excellent and there is something for everyone. I am excited to get this in the max K and outside to hit. The cool thing about the Max K is the FF33 adapter i can fine tune if i need to right there on the range!

Some great feedback there. Did the red feel like something you could possibly get along with in a FW club with those numbers or was the feel not a match for you at all?

My best guess is yes the red would be awesome in a FW in the 53 series for me. I did not have time to try anything else unfortunately. I liked the feel of the red just liked the blue a bit more for the driver in this line. I am not sure i have ever hit 100 feet high with a driver lol. I had to look at that number twice when he told me it was that high.

That makes sense. It sounds like the red would be a lot of fun and might make hitting FW high off the deck really easy. I think I’m going to end up blind ordering a RB for a 3W experiment

I’m doing a top of the bag fitting at Club Champion on Saturday and will pick a shaft as part of that. Was going to get a new driver, 3HL, and Hybrid anyway, so it kills two birds. Just moved it up a week for the shaft deadline.
My prediction, so we can see how [S]close[/S] far off I am on Saturday afternoon: WB 63 SR in an Adapt Max-K
