Callaway Golf has consistently been at the forefront of new technology. The company was the first to use artificial intelligence in developing its driver technology, and it has continued to innovate with each release since.
In 2026, the Callaway Quantum Driver incorporates a Tri-Force Face design, consisting of three distinct material layers working together to deliver what golfers crave most: increased speed. If you want to learn more about the technology, check out our full preview article.
It’s easy to claim performance gains, but here at THP, we prefer to hear from real golfers just like you. We placed a brand-new Callaway Quantum driver into the hands of seven forum members for real-world feedback.
Does it perform as advertised? Keep reading to see what our testers have to say.
“If Speed and Forgiveness are what you are looking for, Quantum delivers.”
Quantum Max Fast gave me the clubhead speed boost I have been searching for. Get fit. Find the build to take your game to the next level.

BOOM !!
Quantum driver = Bomb Drives
Tri-Force face provides full face forgiveness with increased speed and consistent results.
MaineFootWedge – Forum Member from Maine
It’s been a long time since I have used a driver that truly impressed me. While most companies offer solid options, they simply don’t move the needle anymore.
The Quantum TD is different; with higher average ball speeds, more forgiveness, and well-controlled spin, this is a driver without compromise. The Quantum has earned its spot in my bag, and I don’t anticipate it leaving.
ColdOkieGolf – Forum member from Minnesota

The Callaway Quantum TD turns good swings into bombs and great swings into apologies to the group ahead.
JuicyJ – Forum member from Louisiana
Forgiveness on steroids and faster ball speeds all over the face. Quantum Max changes the game for me.
Nappy – Forum member from Wisconsin

The consistency across the Tri-Force face of launch, spin, and speed is remarkable, and quite unlike anything I have encountered in a driver. Callaway has taken a Quantum leap forward with this design.
Golf Jones – Forum Member from Ohio

The Quantum Max has blown me away. The Tri-Force face is FAST and has seen my ball speed and distance make a legitimate jump while the consistency across the face has helped me to hit FIR at a higher clip than ever. The numbers don’t lie.
Redd – Forum member from Oklahoma
The forgiveness of the TD Max model is up there with the most forgiving drivers I’ve tried in the past.
Muchmore – THP Staff and Forum member from Montana
Drivers always talk speed, distance, and forgiveness. It’s easy to become jaded to those descriptions when you hear them every year. But the very first swings with the Quantum TD Max, I could literally SEE the increase in ball speed. The ball came off the face in a way I hadn’t ever seen before.
That speed led to distance gains. Callaway has a hit with this line up and the Tri-Force face truly delivers on what it promises.

This concludes our forum testing of the Callaway Quantum driver. As always, each forum member selected to participate in this testing gets to keep the driver they tested.
That doesn’t mean the conversation stops, however. Thousands of forum members share their experiences every day. For complete feedback from our testers and the broader community, visit our forum thread. If you’ve tried the Quantum yourself, jump in and join the discussion.

Great recap @Lord Tox and well done testers!
Nice recap @Lord Tox and nice work testers.
Great recap. The reviews seem to be overwhelmingly positive across the board for this lineup. It’s crazy that TriForce is in Gen 1 and they already nailed it. Kind of scary to think of what Callaway can do with another year or two to fine tune it further.
Great recap. I need to hit these outdoors this spring.
Great wrap up… these drivers just deliver and it’s nice to see the testers all had great results. Kudos to Callaway on this one.
Great job testers!!!
Great recap @Lord Tox
It was an honor to get chosen to test the driver and share my results here.
The testing continues as soon as I’m able to get outside with it and put it to work.

Hitting them outside really makes a difference. It is an impressive experience for sure.
Excellent work, fellas! And this sums it up well.
Tri-Force face provides full face forgiveness with increased speed and consistent results.
@MaineFootWedge
Nice recap!
Great recap! This is best driver I have ever played
You guys killed this in testing. Was a blast to follow along with and see the gains that all of us on the GD team had seen as well.
Proof is in the pudding, and Callaway had truly created a generational product with Quantum
Really impressive group of testers here and your experiences have me wondering how long it will be until I cave and buy one of these.
Well done fellas. Nice write up @Lord Tox
It always makes me just a little bit suspicious when I don’t see any constructive criticism in these recaps and reviews. I don’t want this to be construed as anybody hiding constructive criticism or not feeling comfortable giving it. Just an observation.
Maybe it really is the best driver ever made for these guys. It sounds like they all found some great success with it and that makes me happy for these dudes!

We were told in the pre test message…………………….post all good and bad findings, honest reviews are what’s wanted.
The thread for these drivers has over 7000 messages, and with all the people using them there have been no regrets that I have seen. The improvements are there, the advancements are there, the results are there.

When I went to test the 2026 releases back in January I couldn’t find the TD Max head I wanted to hit. I did hit the core model and it was pretty good. Personally I didn’t love the sound but performance was right there with the other core models I tried that day.
I do think TD Max could be pretty good for me based on some of the feedback I’ve read from the guys testing it. I hope to get together with my guy @Golf Jones soon to find out!

While I haven’t been on a course with the TD Max since the Grandaddy, I can genuinely say that TO THIS POINT swinging all winter in the garage, I have zero negatives with this club. None. That’s not to say it is completely perfect and there certainly could be things that go awry at times during the season, but I think it’ll come down more to me than the driver itself.
I’ve never, genuinely never, seen this level of forgiveness out of a driver face. The last sim round I played I hit a ball that was absolutely buried in the heel that still carried 254 and hit the right side of the fairway.
I don’t think any constructive criticism was hidden, especially during the review process through all the guys’ posts. I just think this line is that good.
Some great feedback – well done fellas.

Yep I’ve read a good number of the posts in that thread. You guys did a great job testing these. It’s just so rare to not see any kind of constructive feedback with any consumer good not just Callaway golf clubs.
Just raises my antennas a little bit. Wasn’t meant to be a slight at anyone or the process.

Exactly. We always ask for true feedback whether its good or bad.
Is this just a rehash of the ball thing, where you said you didnt really care for the brand and then finally tried the product and found similar results as them, but still went a different direction?
I think most people that try a really good product will enjoy it. You posting that you absolutely love the "best feeling irons" shouldnt raise someone's antennas that you must be lying, right?

I can understand you skepticism. I can tell you I tried to find negatives about this driver, but it’s leaps and bounds better than any Callaway driver I’ve tried in the past 6 years. The forgiveness across the face, specifically where I mishit it the most just make it hard to find anything that doesn’t work for me. Maybe I’ll find something when I get it out on the course more, but after 9 holes yesterday it’s not looking that way.
I do promise you if I find something I will chime in here, whenever that may be – but right now it just checks all the boxes for me.
I appreciate how the Grandaddy crew reviewed this line. I agree with what some have said, I don’t know how this doesn’t end up in the bag at some point
I'd like to think it isn't but it could certainly be part of it. I probably just shouldn't have said anything. But as I was reading the article it was just the thought that came to mind.
You're right though, it could be likely that I'm looking through it through the biased side of the glasses. I can admit that. I'll step away, again, apologies to the testers, it was just an observation I probably shouldn't have posted.
I do still want to try the TD Max though

You shouldnt have to step away for sharing your thoughts.
Just seemed extremely similar, so I thought I would ask.
I dont think anybody should ever feel shamed for sharing positives, or for that matter negatives on THP.
Damn these are some powerful statements from the testers! I knew Quantum was going to bring it this year and it has done just that. I’m content with the Elyte I have in the bag, unfortunately I don’t know how much more I can take off the noise circling around in my brain on the Quantum!!!
Great job by the testers!!!!

I think it’s a good conversation to have, maybe just in a different thread? But if you listen to anyone from a golf company talk about THP reviews they will say they want all sides of the discussion.

Out of all the people I know, you should have one of these. This isn’t peer pressure, but…….yeah it is. Just do it. You can take 30 minutes away from the beach to go get fit.

Sounds as if every tester had a great time with the Quantum drivers. Speed, forgiveness, distance gains … seemed to all be there.

It’s understandable. I think a lot of folks look at these testings with a good dose of skepticism. To be clear, I was never told what to say and we were all encourage to talk about the good and the bad. These companies don’t just want to see all good, they appreciate negative feedback as well (so long as it’s constructive, lol).
In my initial thoughts, I wasn’t that impressed with the Quantum TD. If I was going to a store and trying various drivers, I would have hit the Quantum a few times and never considered it again – all while thinking people on this forum are nuts. BUT I also knew ahead of time that I would need to make the head heavier and spend some time feeling out the club. As I’ve tweaked and continue to tweak while getting more swings in, I’ve grown more and more impressed with the Quantum.
You have hit the Quantum haven’t you?
This is my appreciation post for the guys who did the testing.
I am not an equipment guy. I have a vague awareness of the shaft I play but could not specifically tell you. Just have never cared.
But the guys were doing such a good job of relaying it that I read if not every post then real close to every post in the Grandaddy and Quantum threads. I was excited. I was learning things I had never even known the questions to ask before.
I moved up my Driver fitting by a couple weeks. I went in intending to start with the Quantum but ended up telling him I just wanted blind fitting. Two Quantums made the top 3 and the Quantum Max was what he put me in blind.
I am pretty cheap by nature. Traditionally when I go in for a driver I want “the model from a couple years ago” because I figure the difference is marginal and the cost is a couple hundred bucks. I value a couple hundred bucks more than a marginal improvement. The Quantum? Worth every smurfing penny. Would do it again in a heartbeat, zero hesitation, would not wait as long as I did.
The reviews got me excited. The blind test brought it home. I know before it was released JB kept saying “the jump this year is real” or words like that…he wasn’t kidding. This club is adding yards…before switching to it, over a rolling 20 round average I was at 227 yards. Today I am at 245. Additionally, my left miss has decreased by a few percentage points, my right miss and fairways have both increased. So I am hitting it further with a more consistent miss that makes it much more playable? Yes please, may I have another?
You have to remeber, these wrap ups ask for a single quote for the product, not a review. If people have overwhelmingly positive thoughts on it, even if there are some criticisms, the quote probably won’t show both.
My quote talked strictly speed, which was without a doubt faster since I was seeing numbers I personally haven’t seen before.
I was also testing a driver that was more accurate than my TD Max during testing and mentioned that multiple times in the thread. But for the quote, why would I bring that up? Now that I’ve figured some things out, my Quantum’s accuracy has jumped considerably and is on par.
These are wrap ups of our experience and if the experience was overly positive, most will focus on the positives.
Nice wrap up @Lord Tox. Thanks to all the testers for the wrap-up. The TD Max and White Powercore has been a gamechanger for me. I’m squaring the face a bit better than with my Elyte and Tensei black combo so my accuracy has gone up and I’ve gotten some ball speed gains. The Quantum thread has been fun to follow!

A bit late to this, but what are you looking for in this? (Sorry I haven’ read the rest of the thread past your post yet.)
I talked about shaft pairings, the importance of being fit into the right setup, how for my own swing I struggled until finding a setup that worked better for me.
Observe all you like, but as someone who put a lot of effort into being blatantly honest about my experiences, through hours and hours, and swing after swing……but I am not going to force a negatives conversation if I am seeing far more positives.
Being negative just to be negative, yeah no thanks. There are probably pros and cons with everything, and I’ll say with certainty that I tried to illustrate both.
Good write up. I still love mine.
Nice recap @Lord Tox. I’m not in the driver market this year (sadly more financially driven than anything). But If I were, this club would be right at the top of my list. Also, a shout out to the testers for their thoughts on the new line this year. We all appreciate your feedback. 👊
Great wrap up and great job to the testers!
Between reading through this, the related threads, and ogling these drivers in the store for the 1,000th time tonight – the next 51 days are going to just drag on forever…lol.
Great job testers!
