Cobra 3DP Irons are some of the most unique irons in the game today. Originally introduced a couple of years ago as the limited-edition LIMIT3D irons, they proved popular enough that Cobra brought the technology back as a full production offering with the 3DP Tour in 2025. After just one season, the lineup expanded once again with the addition of the 3DP X and 3DP MB, giving golfers three distinct models, each designed with a specific type of player in mind.
At THP, we believe the best way to get real-world feedback is by putting products into the hands of everyday golfers. Sometimes that comes through what we call Forum Testing, and other times it’s part of one of our event experiences. In this case, it’s the latter.
As part of the inaugural Cobra Classic with Cobra Puma Golf, several lucky members who won a contest each received a full set of Cobra 3DP Irons of their choosing, built to their specifications. They had the clubs in hand for months leading up to the event, giving them plenty of time to put them through real-world testing before also gaming them during the experience. Now, after nearly six months of use, we thought it was the perfect time to share some of their thoughts on the Cobra 3DP Irons.

3DP X Irons
A very forgiving iron that looks incredibly good, Cobra seems to have figured out that recipe with the 3DP X irons. As someone who needs ball striking help, the tech behind these irons truly work in your favor while not having a massive sole or a ton of offset. Really excited to see the future of 3DP and all of the possibilities that surround it.

The 3DP X irons have the look of a slightly larger players blade, the forgiveness of a super game improvement iron, and a feel much closer to forged than I expected. For me, that combination is what makes them so impressive: they look clean, feel great, and turn misses into playable golf shots.

Cobra 3DP X irons are the players game improvement iron. They look very much like a players iron but offer GI/SGI forgiveness on shots that don’t come out of the center of the club face.

3DP Tour Irons
I chose the 3DP Tour iron for its blend of tour elements and high level of forgiveness. The extreme level of forgiveness was a welcome surprise and even relatively poor swings can produce a flight unheard of from a players iron. I have experienced fantastic feel and a consistency rarely found in other irons in this class.

The 3DP Tours are the real deal. They provide ball speed that’s noticeably faster than any other irons I have used. While I am a high handicapper, it’s certain the irons aren’t the reason for any inconsistency in my game. They are built to be forgiving, fast, and long.
