The Wrap Up – Odyssey Tri-Hot Putters Review

Odyssey Golf has been making exceptional putters for a long time. Being the number one brand on the PGA Tour for over 25 years is no easy feat. We broke down the new Odyssey Tri-Hot series when it was released a few months back, and if you missed it, you can check that out here.

Playing what the pros play is always going to be appealing to golfers like you and me, but you don’t have to be a tour player to benefit from new technology. One area that often gets overlooked in that department is the putter.

As you may or may not know, here at THP we like to put equipment in the hands of real golfers like yourself. In this case we randomly selected 2 forum members for each new design of the new Odyssey Tri-Hot putters for a 4 week review period.

Below you will find personal thoughts from each during their experience with the Odyssey Tri-Hot putter they tested.

Tri-Hot Putters Review

Before this testing, I was a skeptic, I was certain that the ZT craze was a fad, and would be short lived. I am no longer a skeptic. From the grip choice, size, material, seam up the spine and embossing that you can feel, to the black shaft and how it blends into the head, to the multi-material head, the soft insert, the grooved face and finally the color scheme, which I cannot explain why, but it just works.

A one word review – Exceptional.

When all these items are looked at individually, one might wonder a bit, is the head too heavy, (or light)?, is the shaft too soft?, will the grip feel odd?, red on a putter?!?, both a soft feel and grooves? Each characteristic is part of the whole, I can’t say if the the STS Tri Hot Jail Bird Cruiser would work as well as it does if any of these features were removed, but as a whole I have only been impressed. 100%, totally immersed, fully buying in to the ZT putter concept that Odyssey has refined in this generation of putters.

Tri-Hot Putters Review looking at the sole

The immediate roll the new FRD grooves instead of worrying about possible skidding. The feel (oh the feel) and the forgiveness of the Ai Dual Insert, even on mishits. Add in the confidence inspiring shape of the Jailbird and you have a putter that could convince a blade enthusiast (I am one) to make a change in the bag.

Success and confidence go hand in hand. And the results I’ve seen so far leave no doubt that my confidence is at an all time high heading in to 2026. The S2S Tri-Hot has sold me on the concept and proved that even a doubter, can find the right putter set up with this new line.

The Odyssey Tri-Hot Rossie has been really easy for me to adapt to. The feel off the face gave me great distance control on long and short putts. It truly inspires a lot of confidence inside 10 feet. It earned a spot in my bag going forward, and I’m excited to keep rolling it.

With the S2S Tri-Hot Rossie Odyssey has nailed the Zero Torque putter

Moving the Hosel forward without needing shaft lean due to the multi-material construction makes setup over the S2S natural. The Dual layer AI face is super soft and feels great. While the FRD grooves put a chance a smooth roll on the ball. This putter has taken me from worrying about putts from 4-10 feet to expecting to make them. This makes such a difference mentally for me throughout a round of golf.

What truly sets this putter apart, though, is the hosel position. It differentiates the Tri-Hot from every other zero-torque putter on the market and makes it far easier to use like a traditional putter. The insert is undeniably soft, but the results speak for themselves. If you’re on the fence, do yourself a favor and roll a few in the store, you won’t be disappointed.

Among the many reasons to be love the Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot is that thanks to a unique combination of materials and weighting, the hosel has been moved forward into a more traditional position, so there is no longer a need to forward press, but you still get the benefits of a zero torque. This change has eliminated the learning curve and you don’t have to change how you putt.

The success I have seen on short putts has been a revelation. I’ve never been more confident from 5 feet and in. The Tri-Hot putters get the ball started on the line that I want and the zero torque feature prevents my hands from taking over and twisting the face.

The Ai-Dual insert is incredible. Between that and the new groove design, I’ve never put a better roll on the ball. The Tri-Hot provides a smooth, consistent and predictable roll whether I have a long or short putt. I’ve cut down on 3-putts because I’m getting close to the hole on long putts and making the short ones.
