In early February, we partnered with Titleist and took eight forum members to the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) for the ultimate wedge fitting, the Vokey Experience.
The goal is simple: get each participant properly fit for their game. Each member went through a blind wedge fitting conducted by one of Titleist’s experts. The wedges were then custom-built, complete with personalized stamping, and shipped to them as part of the experience.
If you’re not familiar with a blind wedge fitting, we encourage you to watch our full-length YouTube video showcasing the entire process.
As we do with all of our experiences and forum testing, we asked each participant to share some short-form thoughts. For more detailed feedback, you can find additional insights in our forum thread.
A properly fit, high quality wedge like the SM11 greatly increases your ability to make good contact with the center of the club face and get consistent results.

Anyone that thinks they are not good enough to play Vokey wedges is just wrong. As a 17 HDP, I can honestly say that these are the easiest to hit wedges I have ever owned.
With so many loft, grind and bounce options, it is much easier to find a a wedge that fits your swing.

As always Titleist delivers another great quality wedge. The micro groove keep flyer lies to a minimum, the new CG placement helps control the flight, and the option of flight lines help with setup.
This whole experience has been awesome and I thank THP for the opportunity to be a part of it and TPI for taking such great care of us while we were down there.

A great fitting and fresh grooves are a pretty special combination. Being able to control spin greenside and incorporating an entirely new style of shot from 50-60 yards has shown an instantly positive impact on my short game.
There is a level of precision being introduced with SM11 that has already provided score changing results, and gets me excited to use them.

My confidence with these wedges is off the charts.
Fit, flight, feel, spin, sound, consistency…it’s all there. I’ve had my share of improperly fit wedges. These are perfect and just flat out perform. I’m hitting shots that I never realized I could now.

Love, love, love these wedges!
The feel and sound provide good feedback. Flight lines are fun and easy to use, making it easy to control the flight of the ball.
Yoose – Forum member from California

The SM11s hold true to its technology built for contact, flight, and spin. You can swing confidently and smile while your ball hits the green, bounce, and stop. The result is so repeatable you just want to hit it again for the joy. Great job by the team at Titleist.

Buying off the rack is such a huge mistake. The wedges I was fit into were certainly not the wedges I would have chosen for myself.
Knowing I have the perfect wedges for me and my game gives me the confidence to hit the shots required.
Lord Tox – THP Staff and forum member from Michigan

The confidence-inspiring nature of these clubs is unlike anything I’ve played before. They feel incredible at impact, delivering a penetrating launch and a predictable ‘hop and stop’ on the greens. The repeatability is exactly what I’ve been looking for.

Our participants along with thousands of others will continue to share their thoughts throughout the year on our forum.
With a plethora of grinds available in the SM11 including some new Wedgeworks grinds that just dropped, there is certainly a Titleist Vokey wedge that will fit your game.
If our testers thoughts inspired you to check out the Vokey SM11 offerings, check out their wedge selector tool its’ a great place to start.

Love the look of the SM11. Custom stamping came out so good.
This was an amazing and eye opening experience, so thankful to have been a part of it!
This was a fantastic experience to follow and the SM11 wedges are super impressive with all the finish loft and grind options. Was fun to follow along.
This was an off the charts amazing experience.
Good wrap, it was awesome to watch the guys get fit, so I’m happy to see they’ve performed on course as well
I loved following this one from beginning to end. Really good thoughts all.
Awesome wrap up! This was a fun experience to follow and man the pictures look so good in the article
This was such an amazing experience. I have never has a fitting just focused on wedges. Having perfectly fit wedges with the right bounce and grind has improved my short game so much. Anyone that does any type of club fitting should get a wedge fitting done as well.
The follow along and thread were so good. Thanks for the wrap up, everyone who was there was shared so much, I ended up getting the 54/58 SM11’s for myself!
Having gone through the fitting last year, I know how good the fitting process can be. I’m so happy that this group was able to experience that amazing fitting process and were fitted into wedges that specifically fit them.
These wedges and fittings were so good for everyone. Many of us seeing great results in early testing. Throughout the year I expect lots of success stories.
Such an amazing experience. So grateful to THP and Titleist for this. Anyone with questions we’ve shared a lot in the review thread, but if you don’t want to read it all ask and we’ll do our best to answer.
Blind fitting, maybe one day. The photos really pop, well done everyone.
I love all the custom stamps. While it can seemingly be overwhelming, Vokey really can’t be outdone with how customized you can get. I really appreciate that there is a grind for everyone.
Great wrap up yall!

It’s so nice to just swing your swing without extra manupulation.

By far the most grinds available. The possibilities are endless
I think I need something between the set PW and my SM10 51*…it's about a 25-30yd gap (depending on my play that day)
Nice wrap up fellas!

I had that issue with my sm9 50* and my set GW. Ended up with a 46* Vokey to cover the gap and it’s working very well for me. I was going up to 90yd with my 50* and GW was 120-130. After a tip from my fitter my wedges are going a little farther so I got rid of my set GW. Set PW is now 130-140. 46* is 100-120y and 50* is 80-110y.
Having longer wedges worked for covering my previous gap, but has made shorter distances more difficult. Everything 50y and less I’ve had to adjust a bit or go back to my previous swing which was not as aggressive through the ball and less spin.
It was a really great experience. Glad I got to be a part of it.
Great wrap up, was so fun following along on this one.
Great wrap up! Love the custom stamps and all the feedback.
These clubs are still so much fun to hit. First rounds of the season confirmed. Kohler spring challenge next weekend. Going to drop some shots on the pins at the original Championship course at Blackwolf Run
Strong work guys. A lot to be said about a great fitting.
It’s been quite a mindset change for me. In the past when shots were bad I’d grab a different wedge from the pile and play it until things went bad again. Wash, rinse and repeat.
Now it’s just “ok dummy, what did you do?”
Or in following @JGirard Top Gun theme: When I’ve “lost that loving feeling”….its just a matter of a pre flight check on set up and swing again.
I know it’s NOT the club.

That’s how I explained the $1,400 for new T-Series irons to my wife. She’s very happy that I’m confident now.
Some great stuff to follow. Definitely a wonderful opportunity to be part of the Vokey fitting. I’m with @Lord Tox, I think a wedge fitting will do most players a lot of good. Just assuming and picking a grind you think you like, just might not be the best fit for your game. Definitely makes me want to get fit and pay more attention to my wedge selections.

There is definitely an opportunity there with 44, 46,48 being an option.

My wife does not care about my golf confidence. As demonstrated when I showed her what a new set of T350 in the Oil Can finish would be. 🙂
I know we joke a lot about it being the club’s fault, but in this case it really was. Not that my old wedges were bad, they were not not right for me. I mostly thought in terms of loft in my wedges. I kind of took bounce into consideration, and grind was mostly “that sounds right” when I purchased new wedges. Man all three are so important, and it makes a world of difference when you get all three right.

These Oil Can SM-11 releases have tempted me but I am all set.
Nice looking wedges to my tastes.

Almost too pretty to put into play. 🙂
I just pointed out how many hours of boat gas would that buys compared to hours on the golf course. Hell, I can burn 1400 in boat gas on a weekend…
