A couple of weeks ago, THP got a chance to visit the research and development center of Wilson Golf (aptly named the Innovation Center) and there will be a lot of exclusive content coming from this visit over the next couple of months. One of the items that our readers are always curious about is research and development with how clubs get created and who they are created for.
THP wanted to get the answers to those questions and this interview should give some insight into the production of their entire iron line.
Great interview, Josh. Look forward to hearing more as you roll out some of the info you picked up on your visit to Wilson Golf.
Great interview! A wonderful look into the thought and creation processes behind their wonderful line of irons, and how they manufacture them to fit various golfers.
What a great watch. I love learning the behind the scenes stuff and this was the first time I had ever heard stuff like this. Never tried Wilson, but might now.
That was very cool. Cant wait to see whatever else you got from the trip over I saw about on Twitter.
Have not tried to many Wilson clubs as of yet. I had no idea about the design elements and the different types of golfers for each club. Really interesting. Thanks THP.
Cool. As someone that is fairly new to the game I love learning this stuff.
Learn something new every day. I assumed a lot (incorrectly) and this was pretty interesting. The question becomes can a player transcend a category and play something different.
Good question Randy and one we discuss a lot in the THP Forums. I think people should play what they want to play and suits their eye. I am a big believer in forgiveness for amateur golfers and finding something that is technically sound, fits your eye and your budget and then getting fit for your swing.
Interesting stuff. I’ve yet to even hit anything from Wilson Staff, but love just about everything I see from them.
Great interview. I love the shield.
Very interesting interview. Love hearing about what goes into the design and what the OEM is thinking.
Oustanding job. Love the insight into what goes into the process. Honestly, I never knew what the F, C and D lines were geared towarda. Great questions also. That has got to be pretty darn cool developing a product that you know you are going to play.
What an informative video, thank you JB and Wilson Golf for educating us. Feel, Control and Distance certainly makes sense and I like the explaination from the Innovation Center.
Great video! Very cool to hear this type of information.
