There have been quite a few reviews where I have talked about those smack yourself in the head, ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ moment, and this one will be no different. I was actually talking to a company that had a ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ product and they recommended I take a look at another new and innovative company called Tin-Cup. Since I am always looking for new products to review and learn about I was happy to reach out to them and I liked what I saw.
About the Company:
Tin CupTM Products, LLC was formed in the spring of 2009 by a couple of longtime Northern Virginia natives who enjoy the game of golf. Based on the USGA Rule that states all golfers must be able to “identify their ball” during tournament play, we felt that there was a need to create something unique to personalize the golf ball marking process. Made in the USA, the Tin CupTM is made of 100% stainless steel and produced in Connecticut. The Tin CupTM is guaranteed for life.
The Tin CupTM system enables you to “Make Your Mark” with a personalized ball marker using the logo or design of your choice.
The company is based in Fairfax, VA and will be marketing the product online, in golf pro shops and in retail stores.
The Tin-Cup is one of those products that is simple in concept, easy to use, and just plain fun. You take your personalized or standard tin-cup, place it over your ball, grab an ultra fine permanent ink pen and get to coloring. It’s that’s easy place, color, and play and you have a fun and interesting way to separate your ball from everyone else. The company offers close to 50 clever and playful designs from animals to symbols to cigars and even wine glasses. However, if you want to get really creative you can design your own personalized Tin-Cup like the one we did with our initials THP and our logo. Each cup is engraved by hand and is done with great passion and precision.
The Tin-Cups come in a handy little pouch and you can also purchase a clip to fasten the cup right to your golf bag. Another feature that I really liked is the option is to take one of the already designed cups and add your own personalized engraving with up to 15 characters. When we placed our order we got the pig because Josh B. loves BBQ, the Trail Blazer because it reminded me of a puppy paw, and Dulin the dog because I love dogs. My one caution or advice is to pick your pen colors wisely. I used orange to color in the paw print and it ended up looking like a Clemson Tiger and I didn’t go to Clemson. Even in orange the paw looked great as did all the other designs and it was honestly a lot of fun to sit and color my golf balls.
I was very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each tin-cup and I could see this being a product that I would buy over and over again to get different characters and designs. I also found their customer service to be superb which here at THP is just as important as the quality of the product.
