Titleist Expands SM11 Lineup with New Vokey WedgeWorks Grinds

When Titleist launched the Vokey SM11 wedges earlier this year, the focus was clear. Refine what already works and give golfers more ways to find the right fit. That meant dialing in contact, flight, and spin while offering one of the deepest fitting matrices the company has ever produced.

Now, that lineup is getting even more versatile.

With the introduction of a new series of WedgeWorks grinds, Titleist is expanding the SM11 platform beyond its in-line offerings and into a broader range of tour-proven sole designs. The biggest difference this time around is not just the grinds themselves, but how they are being released. Rather than spacing them out over the typical two-year product cycle, Titleist is making all of these options available at once.

For golfers who take wedge fitting seriously, that is music to our ears.

More Options, All at Once

The new WedgeWorks lineup adds six additional lob wedge grinds to the SM11 family, including L, A, K*, A+, V and a 62-degree M Grind.

In total, that pushes the number of available configurations even further beyond the already extensive SM11 matrix. What stands out this time is not just the variety, but the timing. Rather than spacing these releases out over the product cycle, Titleist is making all of these options available at once, giving golfers and fitters the ability to evaluate the full range of grinds side by side.

Aaron Dill said, “Having more grind options just gives us more tools to work with, whether it’s with tour players or dedicated amateurs. When a player gets their hands on the right grind, everything seems to click into place.”

A Quick Look at the Wedgeworks Grinds

Each of the new offerings is rooted in tour feedback and specific use cases. While they may look subtle at first glance, the differences in sole geometry can have a significant impact on how a wedge moves through the turf and interacts with the ball.

L Grind

The L Grind is a narrow, low-bounce option with relief in the heel, toe, and trailing edge, making it a strong fit for firm to neutral conditions and players who like to manipulate the face. It sits between the T and M in terms of sole width, offering a touch more protection from digging than the lowest bounce options while still maintaining versatility. It is available in 58 and 60 degrees with 4 degrees of effective bounce.

Aaron Dill explained, “The L Grind is for the player looking for the versatility of a low bounce wedge but still needs some forgiveness. The forward bounce helps reduce digging while still allowing players to open it up and slide under the ball easily.”

A Grind

The A Grind was developed from modifications to the L Grind, smoothing out the sole to help it move through the turf with very little resistance. It is particularly well-suited for firm, tight conditions where players want to slide the club cleanly under the ball. This grind is offered in 58 and 60 degrees, also with 4 degrees of effective bounce.

Over the years we started seeing some loyal M Grind players who found that sole to be a little too bouncy. The A+ lets the leading edge sit a bit lower and move faster through the ground, unlocking more versatility,” said Dill.

K Grind*

A variation of the traditional K Grind, the K* incorporates a pre-worn leading edge along with heel, toe, and trailing edge relief to increase versatility. It retains the wide sole that makes it effective from bunkers while reducing the tendency to dig on square-faced shots. The K* is available in 58 and 60 degrees with 6 degrees of effective bounce.

A+ Grind

The A+ Grind builds off the M Grind platform but features a slightly wider sole and more bounce while still moving quickly through the turf. It provides a lower leading edge than the M, which many players find more versatile, especially in firm to neutral conditions. This grind comes in 58 and 60 degrees with 8 degrees of effective bounce.

V Grind

Designed with steeper players in mind, the V Grind features increased forward bounce for forgiveness on square-faced shots along with relief for open-face versatility. It is a good fit for neutral to softer turf conditions and for players who tend to deliver the club with more shaft lean. The V Grind is offered in 58 and 60 degrees with 10 degrees of effective bounce.

Dill notes, “V Grind players are often a little steeper in their deliveries. They tend to have more shaft lean, which takes bounce away, and the forward bounce helps them maintain forgiveness, especially in softer conditions.”

62M Grind

For those looking to add more loft, the 62-degree M Grind brings one of Vokey’s most versatile sole designs into a higher loft option. Known for its all-around performance and shot-making capability, the M Grind remains one of Bob Vokey’s favorites for greenside play. This option is available only in 62 degrees with 8 degrees of effective bounce.

Each of these grinds is offered in a Raw finish and available through custom order, with select left-handed options included as well.

Built on the Vokey SM11 Platform

While the grinds themselves are the headline, the foundation remains the SM11 platform.

As we covered in our review of the SM11 wedges, the design centers around three key elements. Clean contact, controlled flight and predictable spin.

One of the more important advancements in SM11 is the consistency of center of gravity placement. In previous generations, CG could vary slightly depending on grind. With SM11, CG placement is matched within each loft regardless of grind, which helps ensure more consistent flight and feel across different sole options.

That matters even more as the number of grind choices expands. When golfers switch between grinds, the goal is to change turf interaction without introducing new variables in ball flight.

Spin performance also continues to build on Vokey’s established reputation. The SM11 lineup features updated Spin Milled grooves with increased volume, along with a new directional face texture designed to improve friction and extend ball contact time.

Taken together, those changes are aimed at producing more consistent spin, especially in less-than-ideal conditions.

Why This Matters

For many golfers, wedges are the most personal clubs in the bag. They are used for a wide variety of shots, from full swings to delicate greenside plays, and small differences in sole design can have a significant impact on confidence and performance.

Vokey Wedges

By offering the full range of WedgeWorks grinds at once, Titleist is effectively removing one of the biggest limitations in wedge fitting. Golfers no longer have to wait for a specific grind to become available or try to make something work in the meantime.

Instead, they can evaluate multiple options side by side and determine which grind best matches their delivery, turf conditions, and shot preferences.

As Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill notes, finding the right grind often changes everything.

Pricing and Availability

The new Vokey WedgeWorks grinds will be available beginning March 27 through Vokey.com
