With the 2025 PGA Tour Season kicking off this week at Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii, Titleist has something new hitting golf bags with an addition to the GT lineup of metal woods. The Titleist GT280.
Like most of their releases, Titleist kicks off new gear with the tour validation process and this new mini-driver should be put in play immediately by a number of players.

The Titleist GT280 came from the result of PGA Tour player development and testing their previous TSR metal wood line 2W prototype back at the Players Championship. Staff members were looking for more options at the top end of their bag, Titleist Tour Reps and the R&D team worked to create the perfect option and saw Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris both dial in a 13 degree head for both the tee game and off the deck.
As we head to the Sentry this week, the validation of the new Titleist GT280 will begin and we expect quite a bit of buzz around this one. Look for a number of staff members to give it a run in Hawaii.

Stay tuned to the THP Forum for more coming up very soon as we get a chance to test and put it in play. For more information on any of the current Titleist products available, check out their website at www.titleist.com.
I love my TM Brnr but this will get a serious look at getting into the bag. I love my GT2 driver, so….
Beautiful club, and I’m a huge Titleist fan when it comes to the top of the bag, but I honestly don’t see the point to this, especially when the GT fairway line already has a 13.5 degree option.
I like it, perfect size
Love the look, will definitely check these out.
It looks nice and I will demo it, but I doubt it will be earth shattering enough to displace my BRNR which I already own and dearly love. This coming from someone who also bags a TSR3.
I would be more inclined to upgrade the TSR to a GT, than to upgrade the BRNR.
Damn, that’s good looking.

I know I’m in the minority, just never really cared for the looks at first. I usually come around though.
Nice looking club, as most Titleist clubs are. Not sure where it would fit in the bag though ?

I know, me liking shiny new things is stunning given my job ?
I will preorder this as soon as they’re available and get a shaft fitting.
280 cc is perfect.. I wants one..
Quite sharp looking, and love the size of it.
Looks really great. I bet it’s fun to hit!
Been on the road all day. I did however contact a shop that I buy a lot of stuff from. Will get one on order asap.

I will hit yours.
Frikken frick i wanna try this
The mini driver is something I intend to experiment with a little bit this year. I think the GT280 will by trial of choice. I love my GT2 driver and 3 wood, so it could be a fun experiment. Do i need it? No, but definitely want to give it a try.

I mean.. yeah, there’s probably a lot of truth to that.
I will definitely own one at some point, I love my brnr copper 13.5* but with this one being a bit smaller I’m sure u will love. @R-Yang13 u don’t need Cam Champ sped to elevate these off the deck, im guessing with these being smaller than the TM they will even be easier

Admittedly I don’t have a huge sample size of experience to draw from with mini drivers, I only saw one in the wild all year, and the gentleman was nice enough to let me get my greedy paws on it for a tee shot. I’m mostly basing my assessment off the visuals – it absolutely made sense to me off the tee but hitting that thing off the deck seemed no easier that hitting a regular driver off the deck ?. I might be throwing the baby out with the bath water here and ignoring an option that could play really well for me in certain instances, but this segment to me seems like the long game equivalent of a 64° wedge – awesome for specifics, but I wouldn’t want to give up a slot in the bag for it full time.

This makes sense to the rational portion of my brain. The new and shiny portion of my brain wants to make a joke along the lines of “so I should remove the 64º wedge from my cart?”

Listen, if your looking for someone to tell you not to buy a 64° wedge, or to drool over/pre-plan on buying this shiny new pillar of engineering and technological innovation wrapped in a beautiful hand finished Proprietary Matrix Polymer, you’ve got the wrong guy here – you’ve been working hard and you deserve it.
I have a cally mini and i think theres more spin on the bottom of the face zero issues getting the ball in the air off the ground on a good lie.
Similar to 3 wood which i only hit off good lies anyway so yea
I kinda wish the face looked like the driver though

I agree with this 100%
I like the looks of it, super clean. Don’t think I need a mini driver in my golf game cut then again I have never hit one so who knows may have to swing a few of them when I can to see what the craze is about.

? agree with you
The best looking mini so far.
The mini driver is like bell bottoms, give it time and it will come back in style. Will be interesting to see how many I see in the wild. I play with some Titleist homers, so I’ll see one of them put this one in the bag.
Will hit this first chance I get.. hoping it works..
Really love the shape of this. I wish it wasnt gloss like all of Titleist woods but strictly from a head shaping I think it’s the best looking so far
This year will be fun testing out all the new mini drivers releasing this year.
I am hoping it comes close to performing as well as it looks.
