This Titleist GTS Wrap Up comes directly from participants in our Titleist Experience held at Dormie Club in North Carolina. For this experience, each participant was fit for a new GTS driver by a certified Titleist fitter, which they received at the experience and immediately put into play for several rounds of golf.
Since then, the guys have had their fitted Titleist GTS drivers in the bag for the majority of the golf season. We asked them to share some feedback on what they’ve experienced during that time and how the drivers have performed their games.
Titleist GTS Drivers: What Our Testers Had to Say
GTS 2

The Titleist GTS 2 has been one of the biggest equipment upgrades I’ve made in years. It delivers the distance I was hoping for on center strikes, but what truly stands out is the forgiveness. The combination of speed, stability, and consistency has given me more confidence off the tee and helped me find more fairways. From the classic Titleist look at address to the solid feel at impact, the GTS 2 has exceeded every expectation and become a fixture in my bag.

GTS2 has been the tool that has unlocked better performance off the tee, flying higher, straighter and farther than my previous gamer, with a sleek signature Titleist look. I have seen penalties off the tee drop dramatically, and since putting it in play, I’ve set 2 new personal best scores.

GTS 3

My confidence with driver has never been higher.
It started with the best and most complete fitting experience I’ve had thanks to a trained Titleist fitter. This translated into a plug and play driver and immediate success. The forgiveness off the toe which is my big miss helped produce 76% FIR my first weekend with it vs my 35% for the three years prior.
Raiderboost – member from Texas
My first experience with a Titleist driver, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The look, sound and feel are all on point, but it’s the performance that has really stood out. I’m hitting more fairways than I have in the past, and even when I miss the center of the face, the ball somehow finds a way to stay in play. That’s probably what I appreciate most about the GTS3, I can stand on the tee without worrying that one bad swing is going to send the ball off the planet.

GTS 4

I’m a slower swing speed old guy, Titleist built a low spin super forgiving driver (GTS4) that gives me a piercing flight that hits the ground running, ending in more distance, even when I put a less than perfect swing on the ball. I am in unfamiliar places (closer to greens) on multiple holes seemingly every round I play
JW Smoove – member from South Carolina
The GTS4 turned my driver from the club I managed around, into the club I attack with.

For a “low spin” head this is one of the most forgiving drivers I’ve ever played. The fitting was key to it all. Titleist leaves no stone unturned, with heads, weight setups, and shaft profiles all considered, explained, and walked through, and it shows in the driver they built. Since putting it in play I’ve dropped from a 2.8 to a 1.6 handicap, and the good golf I’ve played is a direct reflection of how well I’m driving it.

Final Thoughts – Titleist GTS Driver
The Titleist Experience was a fantastic event, and watching the guys put their new GTS drivers directly into play and hit fairway after fairway was pretty cool. At one point, every golfer in one of the foursomes hit each of the first six fairways, a pretty wild stat and a great example of just how well their custom fit GTS drivers were working for them.

Excellent writeup @Lord Tox – it seems like Titleist has really made a marked improvement to the previous GT line. Great stuff from each of the members that attended the Titleist experience!
Good read. I went to a GTS2 shortly after release. Not the longest. Not the straightest. But without a doubt the most consistent. Faced with a forced carry, as long as i pick a line within reason, I know I am getting across, no matter what. Dead air drives will all carry within 10-12 yards of each other.
I still need to hit a couple of these. I’ve always liked the look of Titleist drivers at address.
Great wrap up gentlemen. Sounds like the fitting was pretty helpful for you guys. This one is on the top of my list if I get to get a new driver next year.
Nice, my fitting is this week.
Fitting made the difference, I did not realize it at the time – that is, how much of a difference it could make.

I agree. GTS4 has been a great driver this year. Very consistent … just aim & pull the trigger. No second thoughts required. Just put a good swing on it & it goes where you want it. (y)
Great line of drivers from Titleist this year. Enjoyed reading everyone’s thoughts.
I need to give a Titleist driver a try in the future. It’s been about 20 years since I’ve hit one.
Good reviews all!

Honestly I think it’s incredibly important. I’ve done a couple other driver fittings at my local place and while I think they were pretty close I always kind of questioned if there might have been a combination that may have been a little better. With mine with the Titleist fitting we tried a few different shafts and heads but I think we settle on the 2nd combination we tried. It was mostly ruling out the others though. There was a combination with a Ventus that was about the same number wise and I liked the looks of way better. But the feel with the Tour AD DI-6 was just slightly better. I decided to trust that over aesthetics and it’s been great.
Great wrap up on these. I wanted so much to love the GTS drivers, but really only the fairway woods made me consider switching. They are beautiful and my love for Titleist hasn’t changed. Just wasn’t blown away by this release.

How would you say it compares to the cobra OPTM? Those two are the ones I was looking at this year when considering replacing my tsr2

I only hit the OPTM a little in the bay earlier this year but I didn’t hit it them nearly as good as my DS-Adapt Max K. I was getting super low spin with both the K and the X. They were low line drives that just dove out of the sky. Granted my driver swing was really off at the point but I’d hit my Max K and spin launch and carry would jump up to playable numbers.
I was hitting my Max K about as good as I’ve ever hit driver right before getting fit for and leading up to the Titleist Experience. My last two rounds were actually probably two of the best driving rounds I’ve ever had and I was really happy with it. Getting to the experience and the GTS2 just flat out improved upon that. For me I feel like the misses on the heel and especially the toe are performing better than my Max K. My dispersion is better because I’m hitting more drives dead where I want but my big misses are also better. Instead of being OB or deep in the trees I stay in bounds or barely on the edge of the trees. It’s also cut down on those big misses by a substantial number.

I think they both performed quite well. The GTS 3 is more of a traditional shape and look than the OPTM X. Sound wise the OPTM is a little harsher sounding/feeling but not in a bad way just different.

Thanks! Super useful. I demoed the adapt max K last year and it was very forgiving for me and performed well. Sounds like the GTS could be even better so will definitely need to try that. Did you try the other GTS models?
Nice write up. And thanks to all for sharing their thoughts and feeback.

I did try all 3. I’m pretty low spin so I pretty much knew that the 4 wouldn’t be the one and it only took 3 swings to confirm that. The GTS2 just worked better for me than the GTS3 did.
I have tried more than a handful of new drivers over the last couple of years but just couldn’t find one that outperformed my OG Calloway Rogue.
That was, of course until I tried a GTS2. I went to the national fitting centre in Toronto for a fairway wood and wound up in a GTS2 driver instead.
Zero exaggeration: my first four swings resulted in 9.8 feet of dispersion against an additional 15 yards of carry. Needless to say it was a very short fitting; we tried other combinations but wound up in the first setup we tried.
These new drivers absolutely launch a golf ball. All you have to do is make a smooth swing and the club does all of the work. The feel at impact is solid and powerful. The ball immediately leaves the face on an upward trajectory and stays in the air along time, gaining yardage as it flies.
The reduction in mass of the crown and sole has allowed Titleist to move the weight to the face and the back centre of the head. Every model provides the ability to change the fixed weights which dynamically changes not only the feel but also the flight characteristics of the ball. Common sense says that a light weight in the front and a heavy weight in the back should increase the launch angle, but that is not necessarily the case.
Golf clubs are usually marketed as offering ‘x’ or ‘y’ benefit to the player, but I am not exaggerating when I say the only way to know which GTS is right for you is to be fitted. There’s a very good chance the end result will not be what you expected. But there will be no argument that you just gained distance, improved dispersion or most likely both.
Good stuff.
Nice write up @Lord Tox – takes me right back to Dormie. What a fun trip and experience! The GTS4 is just so good for me and continues to be. First Titleist driver I’ve played since 907 D2 and feel right at home with it. The classic Titleist look can’t be beat and don’t plan on changing that for a while.
The GTS 3 continues to impress me every time I tee it up. Its great to look at, easy to hit and sounds fantastic. The biggest change for me overall was my fitters ability to get my launch and peak height higher while still keeping the spin in a good window. Just fun to have in play.
Great wrap up and well done by the reviewers!
From most things I have read, the new GTS line is a worthy upgrade from the already very good GT line.
I really like playing a low spin head and back weighting it, so that GTS4 looks like a really good option.
Love @Lord Tox pic with that Kinetixx SyrgeX sneaking in.
Love all this. Still need to hit these!
I’m late to the party, but great write-up, @Lord Tox !
I’ll piggyback on what everyone has been saying about the fitting because my fitter made a huge difference for me.
I came in playing a Graphite Design IZ 7 Stiff, which I really liked. While getting my baseline numbers, I hit one dead center with a square clubface, but the ball still went right. My fitter looked at it and basically said, “That shouldn’t have gone right.”
He explained that the IZ can have a tendency to release right, and based on the strike and face position, that was the only explanation he could come up with.
From there, he had me try several different shafts, and we landed on the AD-DI 6 Stiff in the driver, AD-DI 7 Stiff in the 5W, and AD-DI 8 Stiff in the 7W.
Honestly, I couldn’t have been more impressed with the fitting or the woods. It really opened my eyes to how much the right shaft and setup can change the way a club performs.
Going forward, when I’m ready to replace another piece of equipment, I’ll definitely consider doing another Titleist fitting.
If you’re looking for a new driver or fairway wood, do yourself a favor and check out the GTS lineup.
Really appreciated everyone’s input on the GTS line. I struggled all season with spin on my driver and while on vacation I noticed the course next to our hotel was holding a Titleist fitting event. I went down and hit the GTS options and the best head for me was the GTS4. Spin lowered nearly 800 RPM paired with the Graphite Design Tour AD DI 6X. Low spin and height was something I’m not used to but the fitter did an amazing job. With my season winding down in a couple of weeks, I decided to go ahead with the purchase of my 2027 driver.
The reviewers did a great job with the discussion around the GTS line. It was enough to convince me to give them a shot.

That’s awesome. My club was supposed to have a Titleist fitting about a month ago but it didn’t happen. I need to talk to him again to see if he got it rescheduled. Though I really don’t need a reason to hit the Mini again…or should I say my wallet doesn’t haha.
I’m really excited as I’m heading back home to Abilene Friday to play one of my favorite courses. I’m excited to get the GTS2 in play there. I need to get to the range a little first as I have a little OTT move that has creeped in but if I can get that straightened out then I think I can go for my PB for that course.

I did fit into the GTS300 and picked that up as well. I’ve hit the other two major brands mini’s and the Titleist is easily the most playable off the deck and as long as anything out there. What’s funny is that my spin was so high on my previous driver, I’m getting more distance with the GTS300 off the tee. The GTS4 is about 25 yards longer for me off the tee than the GTS300 but I think I’ll be using the mini because it’s hard to not hit it straight.
If you don’t have the mini now, it’ll be hard for you to pass up.

Yeah I hit it a couple weeks ago and really liked it off the tee. I was getting some solid numbers and distance even with it being my first few swings on a still very tender ankle.
