Last month the Titleist TSi driver line debuted when it began hitting tour bags and appeared on the USGA conforming list. Today the lineup becomes official with the TSi 2 and TSi 3 drivers and fairway woods.
We have spent the last few weeks testing them in the THP Tech Studio and in this video have a little bit of everything. Since the release is new, we thought it best to cover the gamut in this video rather than just the testing. First up will be Josh Talge, VP of Marketing of Titleist Golf Clubs talking tech and then we move right into the data and break it down for you.
We have a lot more coming on the Titleist TSi drivers and fairway woods in the coming weeks, but after watching this video what are your thoughts?
I have and have been playing them both. 3 sits inexplicably more closed. Similar distance but with a slightly different flight for me. I actually prefer the higher (and straighter for me) flight of the 2. Little extra launch and spin hasn’t held anything back at all really for me. It lets me do more of what I want. It’s been a good combo with the AV Raw White 75. Haven’t noticed a lot in terms of forgiveness other than the fact that when that closed face of the 3 has its effect at those ball speeds and distance the outcomes are damn unforgivng. Lol
I’ve tried moving the weight on the 3 and it’s just not as good of a fit for me. Fine, but not great. I’ve lent it out though and others have mentioned that it seems harsh. A bit unforgiving and also it’s got a firm feeling they don’t seem to love when you don’t button it.
I hit the tsi2 better in the 3wd. The 3 was getting squirly on me. They are both fast though
That is great feedback, thanks! The TSi3 feels like a cannon when you button it, and the TSi2 is not far off. I am not sure I had noticed the TSi3 sitting a touch more closed, but I believe you. The first day I hit fairways was TSi3 and I was amazed. Then I went back a few days later and hit a bunch of shafts and lofts with TSi2, and had one combo I liked best. TSi2 + AV White 75.
I’m pretty sure the TSi3 I hit was also with AV White Raw – that pairing seems to have it going on for me. Might have to lean TSi2 here.
what loft did you try the tsi3 in? I have the 16.5 and love it. I don’t notice a closed face at all.
I totally Get we probably set up differently and we could be looking at thing differently.
but I don’t notice a shut face here.

At identical 15.75 flat settings, they were darn near interchangeable.
I play the 15s. I could take a bunch of pictures. I have a ton already from initial, but when they rest, the 3 is a little more closed. I’ve gone over it with a fine toothed comb (protractor) with store guys and fitters and it’s small, but there. I’m just really sensitive to it as a ‘must avoid the big left’ guy. They both sit a little closed to my eye, but that’s individual. I’ve said in the thread that the tiny difference probably gets in my head. I play them 1 flat but really prefer the look if I knock some loft off too. Don’t really want to do that. It’s mostly me being picky. Probably even more than my usual crazy level because despite me loving how they look and their driver dad, I haven’t been able to get quiet what I want out of them compared to some others.
I have the TSi2 in a 13.5 and the TSi3 in a 5 wood. I like the smaller size in the 5 wood, but preferred how the TSi2 sits next to the ball in the strong 3 wood. I have the Smoke Black in both.
nice. Like I said. We all see thinks differently. Play what works for you.. the driver is fantastic oh and there is this now too.

Did you get one!? I spent a little time with it and I started thinking of a friend that might need to look into it. Great iron player but delivers a little too much with his driver.
I’m going to order a TSi3 4 wood and turn it down, because this conversation just convinced me not to buy the Epic 4W. The fixed lie will obviously bug me. Lol
Sidenote – Just realized how much Smoke Black you’re rocking, @Tenputt ! You absolute beast. ?
No, just hit it. It looks great! And It is a ball speed monster. But honestly it does not spin enough for me to be practical. I prefer the tsi3 driver.
love your 4 wood thought. That way I did. 16.5. Set it to B1 just because like you I struggle with the lefts so I wanted it slightly more fade bias.
Yeah, it’s not a good fit for me either. I’ve started to think of more people it might be though. I want to see someone go in that struggles with spin and contact a little, and see what happens when they move it around the face a bit.
I am really not a beast. Not sure why they work so well for me, but they do.
I wonder if mine is a bit off in tolerances?
TSi3 left and TSi2 right. 2 being dead square and 3 being maybe .5 mm of onset actually.

Hmmmm…. I will admit that I don’t know what I am looking at here. It that a loft/lie type machine? What is the needle measuring? Genuinely curious how that is used.
It is a device to measure face angle.
If you set the hosel to C1, does your device register an open face?
THP Club lab has all the cool toys. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this BTW. Very interesting.
I reached out to Titleist to see if I can get some Official specs. Sometimes things are seated differently and other times tolerances exist. Of course even other times, devices aren’t fantastic (ours included).
Cool.. and interesting. So, onset should promote some fade bias right? Was the face angle square with that onset?
This is awesome! Thanks. I honestly wonder if it’s my TSi3 3W then.
The onset thing is interesting. Makes it seem like you’re looking at a lot of loft I think.
Edit: I’m gonna take mine in today and compare to a couple on the rack. I smell a potential trade in… wife isn’t going to enjoy this part of the day though. Maybe she needs a new putter
This is what caught my eye about the 3, not that it was closed, but that it seemed to have more loft than what its stated loft is.
As a guy that actually NEEDS SPIN….my view of this driver…
Your swings made it look pretty sexy.
Wife just asked me wtf I’m doing, explained it, she pointed and said ‘this one sits higher’ (they’re face down). ‘Did you not know that?’. *disappointedinyouface. ?
We all need mental help…lol
You would have to ask them, but I would guess on this a couple of mm
haha you and me both. tsi2 was pretty darn low spin for me, i can’t imagine how much worse tsi4 would be. but tsi2 was shockingly consistent, felt amazing, and was automatic.
Yeah, TSi2 is a fantastic driver. I really shouldn’t bother looking at anything else buuut….I can’t help but tinker. The TSi3 with a bit of extra loft is pretty incredible.
Interesting.. I would from personal experience say the tsi3 is more stable than the sim.

Old TSi3 face issues hopefully a thing of my past. And having a face that a buddy hasn’t ripped the finish off on a crap strike will be nice.
Speaking of, what has everyone seen for durability with their faces on the TSis? I don’t clean my ball as much as I should, so my driver has a few fair marks, but the FWs seem a little sensitive to impacts.
Funny thing.. no I am wanting to look a little more at the tsi2…
It really is soo good…
I hit one so bad I just new it was going hard left and ended up good ways in the left side of the fairway. Guys are all saying “good drive” and I’m thinking to myself no way that just happened lol
TSI2……Confident fairway finder……allows a normal tee height for my swing while still being easy , consistent launch…..not as long as 2017 gbb epic especially downwind but overall a more consistent driver ……for me.
I saw quite a few drives like this one during the rounds and definitely averaged over 250 yards for my three rounds (my longest being just over 300), which being early in the year and at sea level, felt satisfying.

The comfort level thing is huge, because comfort is confidence when you need it.
I feel so comfortable and in control with the 3 that yesterday I was kind of annoyed at how I drove the ball. Was missing targets a bit, double crossed one and was so disgusted I didn’t even watch it, etc. Then I look at the card and realize I missed one fairway. The first one. To me that kind of reaction to misses that small show how comfortable/confident I am with it and how perfect I expect to be in that. There are a couple setups I can bomb a tad more, but that’s worth nothing compared to knowing I’m going to be in pretty good position, nearly as far, the majority of the time. It’s self-fulfilling.
The Tsi3 just had better numbers. Spin was about 2100rpm, launch was 12 degrees, but the biggest improvements were distance and dispersion. My current driver sprayed shots almost 60 yards apart with an average of 255 yards total distance (which is normal for me). The Tsi3 had a 22 yard dispersion and averaged 289 yards. I was very happy with the way the Tsi3 felt while swinging it; very light, but balanced. Mishits were not penalized nearly as much as what I am used to. I hit a few that felt bad and I saw them go only 10 yards off line. Granted all of this is on a simulator, so I will wait to see if I can actually average anywhere near 290 out on the course, but the dispersion reduction had me cheering inside.
I hope to be gaming the new club in a few weeks but delivery has been all over the place. Still, I am excited to get this season started!
i would think out of the middle of the club with optimal attack and face-to-path, the two would not be separated by 22 yards. but on slight misses, or less than optimal launch conditions, since one of the drivers was sldr i don’t doubt those differences at all. sldr was so punishing on mishits.
