While the new TSR drivers are sure to get the largest share of initial attention, make no mistake, Titleist knew they had their work cut out for them to take the immensely popular TSi fairways and improve upon them for this release as well.
How did they do it? By focusing on what they call the “Four F’s”, Flight, Feel, Form, and Forgiveness.
Say hello to the three new TSR fairway metals.
Titleist TSR Fairways
A major focus with this release was in trying to perfect the CG within each model, what Titleist ended up with is the lowest CG they have ever built into a fairway. By achieving this, they have created a higher launching clubhead which means more playable for golfers of all types.
This CG movement was of course done by removing and replacing weight elsewhere in the heads, to do that Titleist created what they are calling their “Open Hosel Construction”. Typically, a lot of weight is located in the hosel region of a design, Titleist has removed a significant portion of that by opening the hosel and moving that weight into specific locations depending on the clubhead in the lineup.
The TSR fairway release is made up of three different clubheads, but no, they are not the same as the drivers. Here, Titleist is introducing the TSR2, TSR2+, and TSR3 fairway metals.
Titleist TSR2 Fairway
The follow up to the incredibly successful TSi2 fairways, the TSR2 builds on that same foundation of easy launch, massive forgiveness, and impressive distance. This clubhead is the lowest CG of the three TSR fairway designs, in fact, Titleist is also calling it the lowest CG ever for an all-steel design. The TSR2 is a high-launch and mid-spin club which offers the company’s SureFit adapter for additional adjustability. Worth noting, like the TSR2 driver, gone is the grey finish which the TSi2 had as now the look blends with the whole lineup.

Loft Options: 15.0, 16.5, 18.0 RH/LH, 21.0 RH Only
Titleist TSR2+ Fairway
This one is going to turn some heads.
Listening to its Tour Staff, Titleist went to the design table and came back with an answer to their clamoring for a tee-biased fairway metal which could still be used off the deck. While it won’t be for everyone, this stronger lofted design fills a need in the TS family that is sure to excite many.

The TSR2+ has a larger overall profile than the TSR2, including a taller face. What it also offers over its sibling? More forgiveness. Due to its profile, this club features the deepest CG location of any Titleist fairway, that means maximizing long and straight. In all, it is a 13-degree rocket launcher. As is the case with the whole lineup, the SureFit adapter will also allow some fine-tuning.

Loft Options: 13.0 RH/LH
Titleist TSR3 Fairway
Finally, the TSR3, the precision instrument of the new TSR fairway metals. This head not only features the SureFit adapter, but also the new five-point Adjustable CG Track System which adds to the precision aspect. A mid-high launch and low-spin design, this is the players fairway that showcases not just power but workability for the demanding golfer. With a classic and sleek shape as well as a compact look at address, the TSR3 rounds out the lineup very well.

Loft Options: 15.0 and 16.5 RH/LH, 13.5 and 18.0 RH Only
The Details
Like the drivers, the TSR fairway metals will release on 9/23/2022 and feature the same wide-ranging, no upcharge and custom shafts. As standard, the lineup will offer Project X’s HZRDUS Red CB and HZRDUS Black 4G, as well as the Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei AV Blue with Xlink and Tensei 1K Black. More than that, for a $200.00 upcharge the Graphite Design Tour AD UB, Tour AD IZ, and Tour AD DI will also be available. Yes, there is a full catalog of other full upcharge shafts, but the Graphite Design “Premium” level option is quite cool to see. The TSR fairways will be priced at $349 for the standard options, and $549 for premium.

So just like with the driver, was tinkering around with the 16.5 fwy yesterday. I know for sure I’m going to cut the shaft down. If I grip at the end of the shaft I get one good strike out of about 7 swings. If I grip down about 3/4, I get so much more consistent. So I did the same thing with the adjustment hosel, delofted and brought the lie up to setting C2 from D1. First thing I immediately noticed was higher ball flight and less distance for whatever reason. So back to the D1 setting it went, and the slide weight stayed at inner toe location. Like with the driver, low heel shots and toe shots isn’t as punishing as you would expect. In the pictures, all the shots are off a adjustable tee that gets pretty low. The first picture you can see a good straight shot, low toe, and push heel. Second, the high one is me just goofing around lol, really swung up on that shot. But there is also a thinned shot as well, dot remember if it was toe, heel or center. Point being all shots were going to be playable off the tee.

Really can’t say enough things about this club. It’s been my favorite for months now. Par 5s are just absolutely fun. The control you have with it is just something else. This year I have been determined to bounce back handicap wise after the injuries and see it as an absolute weapon from the tee and longer holes. Hard to remember a club clicking with me that fast. Even a significant mishit is getting 220-30. It’s going to take something really special for it to be replaced in my bag.
Great stuff man. The 3 wood is absolutely a cheat code. I’ve said multiple times that’s my favorite club in my bag now. The ability to control the ball with distance is just crazy. For note I can totally relate to the canyon thing. There’s a local course that’s rough. I mean it’s the course you go to get humbled (They regularly keep note on their national ranking for being a tough course.) . One of the late par 3s is 230 and you get wind swirling everywhere. In between the tee and the green is just a 70 ft type drop gap. Last time I played that hole and hit my 3 wood to the green. Still bogeyed because the green is so absurd. You gotta play whatever you feel is gonna get there.
Made it out to the course the other day for the first time in almost 3 months and Ol’ Reliable (my TSR 2+) was still on fire! Only pulled it out twice, but on a day where I hit 4 of 12 fairways with my driver, I went 2 for 2 with the 3-wood. This thing is consistently going 240 and is deadly straight…thinking I should probably pull it out on every hole under 400 yards!
Loving all the chatter on the TSR 2+ in here. Thanks for all with the feedback. It is now on my need to go try list.
That is a full send back swing @BoilerCLE I love it! Killer write-up on those Kohler rounds dude. Sounds like the TSR2+ continuing to be a freaking weapon for you.
My TSR2 16.5* is also absolute bomb city. 230-240 carry very reliably when I catch it solid. When I don’t, will still easily get at least 215 unless it’s a total mishit. The only problem I run into is when I catch it heavy, it can turn into a hook – which did unfortunately kill me on one hole yesterday in my sim round. I know it’s a swing issue because it happens with all my clubs, but it seems somewhat exacerbated here. I think I may plug the 1K Black back in to see if the additional weight and stiffness will get that under control when it happens. It feels a little less energetic than the HZRDUS Black but if I can get that left side under control without giving up significant carry (and I don’t think I will), that will be big for me.
I did have one absolutely roasted 2nd shot with it that got me back into position after getting too aggressive on a par 5 and not getting the fade needed. Blasted this guy about 240 carry to just adjacent to the green, and was able to make par. After the drive, it was looking pretty doubtful but the 16.5 bailed me out!

The FW is an absolute game charger. For me it’s become arguably my best club. Which is huge because generally on par 5s I struggled going for it in two. That’s a stroke every par 5. That’s absolutely massive. It’s also huge because I can take the driver out of hands knowing I can get myself into a scoring position from the tee on par 4s. The strangest thing is whether it’s driver off the deck or pulling a three wood both options seem realistic to me. I would rarely pull a driver off the deck yet and yet I did that at Ballyhack with a blind shot for the first time with the TSR and it couldn’t have gone much better tbh. There’s just a calm confidence with both clubs especially the 3 wood. Truly a beautiful thing.

Awesome dude! I’m definitely not at quite that point with it due to the left thing – the driver is definitely the highlight club for me, and with recent fitting tweaks I don’t fear left with it at all – BUT I will say that this is the highest level of confidence I’ve had in a fairway wood in a long time. The lefts have historically been a struggle for me with fairways (it’s a known swing fault I’m correcting), and though I still have some issues, this club is the best I’ve played yet at limiting it. If I can find a move and/or setting with this that controls that left miss better, I’ll really be playing with fire.
As for driver of the deck? Yeah, that sh**’s above my pay grade :ROFLMAO:

#2. I hit a less than fantastic drive that rolled into the right side gully. @Roadrunner and I estimated where the green was from the bottom (Completely blind from 15 ft down.). I went to grab the driver and he was like oh you gotta do it. I caught it with a perfect fade over the bunker/deepest rough and got up by the fringe right from that front bunker guarding the green. Not a blade of grass harmed. The front slope stopped it from getting up into the main spate of the green. I couldn’t have dreamed much better of a strike. I think Runner said it was one of the most ill advised shots he’s seen but wanted to see it lol.

I hit 5 balls off the deck on the Foresight with this strong 3w and my ball speed AVERAGE was 153 OFF THE DECK. It’s so freaking good.

At the Titleist Experience I had a conversation on this club specifically, and turns out there was a big conversation had on NOT putting the loft ON the head because it might scare people off when in reality it launches unlike any strong 3 out there. My experiences totally match that.
As soon as I even think about flirting with other fairways, the 2+ smacks me in the face.
Not only has it remained lethal off the tee for me like it was at Ballyhack, but off the deck the 13.0 plays like a 15. Yesterday I was 267 out on a par 5 that demanded a draw, hit it to the front edge. I laughed maniacally as it’s been a long couple months for my swing.
The 2+ is my jam.
Time for me to put some things on the “For Sale” thread! I need the 2+ to replace mine. All this talk about it has me excited.
Anyone need any drivers, putters, fw’s, or iron sets? I’ve got quite a few. Contribute to the “‘Nut Needs A New Weapon” fund?

That is AWESOME.
I had a pretty tough pair of sim rounds this weekend as the inside takeaway has snuck back into my swing and everything is drawing or hooking on me, but the TSR2 provided some serious highlights regardless, and on a rough day for the driver too. Playing Torrey Pines, on the par 5 13th I had hit a pretty decent drive for once and had about 265 uphill to the pin. Hit the TSR2 16.5 and absolutely flushed it. Ended up only about 5 yards short of making the surface, which was a carry of 250 uphill. Absolutely monstrous for me.
I hit it more than usual as well because of hitting driver poorly, I needed to recover on 2nds, and on 5 swings, 4 were smoked and got at least 230 carry each and were right around the target.
Sooo good!
I finally received my Ventus Red for my 2+ fairway, but haven’t had a chance to get it out because of weather. Feels good on some yard swings though.
Played a golfweek tour event yesterday. Absolutely striped this on two par 5s but not in a good position after to take advantage so walked away with pars (Bad bounces). The flight was beautiful though especially hitting off wet fairways no less.
I ended up having to hit this a lot in sim golf Friday because of some dicey driving (see TSR Driver thread for full details…). It sure acquitted itself well every time. Highlight was an absolutely striped one off the deck from about 280 on a par 5 that traveled about 250 with roll, and left me able to hit a nice pitch inside 5 feet and make birdie (one of my few).
The damn thing just inspires confidence like I’ve never had in a fairway wood. I can shape it both ways and it gets up in a hurry and lands soft -what more can you ask for in a fairway wood!?
I won’t repeat the swing related stuff from the driver thread – go over there if you’re curious – but those swing thoughts yielded some great TSR2 4W shots as well, including this absolute rocket. This club is so filthy easy to launch off the deck.

OMG this this came alive with the Ventus Red TR!!!!! Outdrove the guy I was playing with twice when he hit driver, nice little 5y draws. Great ball flight, good rollout and consistent.
This is going to be a great tee club on tight driving holes or when less than driver is necessary.
So I might keep the TSR Fairway sidelined for the time being in fear of flattening another face. I have the 915Fd 15* attached to the Tensi 1K now and it performed perfectly on Sunday. I was 280 out on the first hole which is a par five and stuck it to 20 feet. Really love the sound of it too.

And I was so set on not buying any clubs this summer.
I’m finding myself more comfortable with the TSR3 3W recently off the turf. The launch on a well-struck shot is ideal.
This spot has been a weakness for me for a long time. But I’ve been able to be more aggressive on longer par-5s that I can’t reach in two, so that I have shorter wedges in instead of short irons.
I hit two rockets, for me, off the deck this evening with this thing. I’ve been hitting it better off the turf lately than off the tee.
It’s a shame I can’t hit a green from under 100 yds. Such a waste!
Loving my TSR 2 16.5 fairway wood. I have it set to C-1 and it it working like an absolute DREAM! The confidence in this club and its big brother (TSR3 Driver) are at an ultimate high right now.
