I am a wedge grind nerd and it is one of those things that in my opinion when you start to learn about you really go all in on learning about. Over the years one of my absolute favorites that I constantly come back to is the M-Grind from Vokey, which is one of Bob Vokey’s original grind designs from so long ago. That is what makes today so interesting, as Vokey is officially bringing out a new loft for the legendary grind through their WedgeWorks offerings.

Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks Limited Edition 54.08 M
For those less familiar, the M-Grind is a medium bounce sole design, oh, and it just so happens to also be Mr. Vokey’s “most favorite” grind option. Best stated by the legend himself:
“The M grind is a medium bounce wedge that features a heel, toe and trailing edge sole grind and is for players who want a sand wedge to play in medium to firm soil conditions or firmer bunkers,” said Vokey. “It is also ideal for the golfer with a shallower, neutral, or more sweeping delivery who likes to play shots around the greens with the face in a variety of orientations or positions.”

Why is this WedgeWorks release worth noting? While the M-Grind has been available in 56, 58, 60, and even 62 degree loft options, this release is a 54.08 designation which opens up that lower lofted sand wedge spot. This is important because while the M-Grind is similar to the D-Grind, the D in 54 has 12 degrees of bounce where the 54.08 M gives that same grind versatility at a more tamed down bounce.

The Limited Edition 54.08 M will be available starting today (7/11/23) and is priced at $225 through WedgeWorks. It comes standard with Dynamic Gold S200 and a Golf Pride 360 grip, but of course, the WedgeWorks program offers an incredible amount of customization options.
Thanks for the write up, yeah if you get into grinds you can get all into them. For those of us still learning them, there is so much to soak up with the grind options.
This grind sounds right up my alley, love the option of a lower bounce wedge with some heel toe relief.
I am dealing with Grinds now. My new to me Glides are great on full shots but partials were I love to open the face are costing me a lot of extra strokes due to thin shots. I did not know anything about Grinds but did know about Bounce. Went back to my old Zings and had no trouble on partials so I compared the soles of both and noticed smaller sole (Bounce) on Zing with a relief on trailing edge (Grind?)
I am looking at M and L Grinds in 58 or 60 to compare to my Zings.
I always love the M-grind. I think I might have an old model sitting around somewhere. I’ll look tonight 😉
Not designed for me, but options are nice.
The M is the best! Glad it’s being offered in the 54 for now.
Probably not ideal for me, but I can see many people enjoying this at 54 degrees.
Definitely a good looking wedge. I play Vokey, and I have an M wedge but not a WW wedge. I like it though.
