As a self-professed putter addict, the reinvention of Toulon Golf with their Small Batch releases has been nothing short of amazing to witness as well as write about. However, also being a native Oklahoman and music nerd, the newest Small Batch release has taken it all to another level for me.
This month, we say hello to the “Tulsa”, the latest Small Batch release from Toulon Golf, and cool, is underselling this one massively.

Toulon Golf “Tulsa” Small Batch Putter
Much of my heart sits with Tulsa, Oklahoma already. No, not because I was born there, but rather based upon it being one of the absolute coolest cities in my home state, and well as one of the most history laden. Tulsa is known for a lot of things, Southern Hills hosting more PGA Championships than any other course, the Art Deco architecture which adorns its skyline, being the “capital city” of the “mother road”, Route 66, the heartbreaking history of the Greenwood District, and music.

With this Small Batch release, sound is at the root of things as this prototype turned heads in the best of ways, and that combined with that aforementioned Art Deco history, is why the name Tulsa, stuck. Sure, Tulsa has Cains Ballroom and all which that encompasses. Yes, it is home to both the Woodie Guthrie and Bob Dylan museums. However, the Tulsa Small Batch putter tips its cap to the Church Studio, founded by the “Master of Space and Time” himself, Leon Russell.

Why? Because of the sound. The feedback of the Church Studio was legendary, and according to Toulon Golf, the feedback from this putter was worthy of such a tip of the cap at naming it the Tulsa. The body of this one began its life as an Austin, but through the massaging and alteration of thicknesses, the feedback was changed drastically, bringing feel to another time and space. With a much more deep and plush feedback to the ears and hands, the Tulsa takes the 904L material to another level.

Finished with a brand new H5 hosel, the Tulsa has more toe hang than the traditional H1 used on the Austin. According to Toulon Golf, that makes this putter a fit for golfers who have moderate-to-more rotation in their putting strokes. All graphics on this one are a nod to the Church Studio and Tulsa’s Art Deco history while creating a clean and finely tuned aesthetic finished in Tour Satin Mist. The putter will have a 353g head weight, 60-degree toe-hang, and fine double fly cut Big Tuna milling.

The Details
The Tulsa officially releases today, 9/19/24 in extremely limited numbers and will be available on their website, www.ToulonGolf.com. As has been the case with the other Small Batch releases, the Toulon Tulsa will be priced at a premium $1,800 for the super limited design.
Simple and elegant, it looks amazing. Now I’m headed off to learn more about Church studio cause I will fully admit I know nothing. Well done as always @Jman
I dig the look. Very clean. Not so much on the price. (Church Studio was a Rock N Roll heaven. Many massive hits recorded there. “Turn the Page”~Bob Seger and others.
Toulon always seems to get the curves right, this one is no exception.
Very fine looking putter but price… yowzer! I am sure it will be sold out but boy I’d want to play it versus being on display.

Why does the price make it a display only piece? I use the hell out of my Sea Island.
Amazing looking putter. That price though.
I appreciated reading about Tulsa. It sounds like a cool city and this putter is pretty cool too,
I’m always a little amazed that people are still surprised by the price on the Small Batch releases when they’ve been the same since they began.
It’s definitely not cheap, but they’re also definitely not your average putters.
This thing is beautiful. Not flashy, a very classy offering.
I really like what they did here
I really like it. I just can’t do 60* of toe hang
The sole and face design are very cool. Don’t love the look at address as much, though the hosel design is right up my alley.
Impressively done as always.
Yet another great looking Toulon putter. Interesting how the sound changed based on weight or maybe where the weight was not removed? Someday….
That is clean. I’d roll that

Well I guess if I had to shell out $2,800 CAD out of my pocket I would be very wary playing for fear of damage.

Do you full swing your putters or something? ?

904L is a super resilient steel so unless your using it as a hammer you could leave it outside with out a cover for a few years and it will be fine
I like this one

No …I’m just very clumsy ?.
All of the Small Batch putters have good storytelling but this is above and beyond. There are a couple SB models I visually prefer but none of them can touch the storytelling here.
And honestly, $1800 isn’t ridiculous when you consider the price of Circle T, Betti DASS, and similar lines that don’t even carry the stories and creativity of Toulon.
I absolutely love the script in this.
Also, I bet it sounds AMAZING.
ok…that is CLEAN. I actually like that a lot
The finish photographs very well. The new hosel is very interesting.

I am sure you are right that they have always been at that price point. I have to wonder what justifies the price though? Not even on the Toulon site is there any description of what makes them special, or worth the investment. Everything on the site is simply a bunch of soft descriptions, with no real information. It comes across as very heavy marketing speak only.
I also realize there is a collector market for everything. If this is simply a collector piece, let’s just cut to the chase and call it that.
This is not a bash on Toulon either, as I have a Las Vegas putter in my cart on their site for a week now and fighting off the urge daily to click the purchase button. Honestly the price on that 24 line seems about $100-150 too high. If it was cheaper by that much I would not be hesitating. It will still likely be my next putter once I sell another one or two from my stash. Just not seeing where the small batch putter is worth three times the cost from a playability or results standpoint.
Refer to the Odyssey Ai-one line. That is all about providing data and results from day one. I can get behind that, even though I have issues with their inserts and distance control.
Toulon could help themselves a lot by providing more tech and data.

You should go back and read some more Small Batch articles. I assure you they, and we, have talked the why’s.
These aren’t mass produced heads like the Las Vegas, they undergo much more design scrutiny and use a material, that to my knowledge, Toulon is the only one using in putters.
Plus, dude, they’re high end milled putters, and this realm is where those situate. Comparing them to Ai One, which Toulon had a hand in, is apples to kumquats really.
Technically all cars can get you where you want to go, but we all aren’t keen on driving a gremlin. Options, even luxury options, are good.
Such a cool putter! From my hometown 1988-1994!
Beautiful. I absolutely love the simplicity. Subtle is a beautiful thing.
So clean! Would love to game it!
Looks super clean. I like it.
Such a gorgeous and clean look. Really like it a lot.
I’ve shown great restraint.

I mean, it’s a nice garage.
The Toulon Golf Tulsa Small Batch Putter stands out as a meticulously crafted piece that combines performance with aesthetics. Paying homage to the rich musical history of Tulsa, Oklahoma, this putter is not only a functional tool on the greens but also a collector’s item.
I have regrets that I didn’t grab one of these. As much as I hate my state, I do love Tulsa.

I’d have rather given my money right to the Toulon crew, they’re awesome.
One of my buddy is loving his.
What a great looking putter! A “Tulsa” would have been the perfect addition for you @Jman.
