Back in July, Tour Edge released their new limited edition Exotics Pro 721 lineup. If you missed our full tech preview on the lineup, you can find that here. Early reports suggest that these “straight from the tour van” models are fairly unique in both styling and performance so we wanted to dive in a bit deeper.
In this episode of TESTED!, we review the Tour Edge Exotics Pro 721 fairway wood in the THP Tech Studio to see how it stacks up. We start with an overhead view talking about the technology, then jump into the hitting bay for some swings where you see them all and then finish up with a breakdown of all of the data in table view.
Is the Tour Edge Exotics Pro 721 fairway wood the type that draws you in? Give it a watch below and then sound off and let us know your thoughts.

I saw you pull most of the shots to the left side. This has been my miss, so I’m curious if you played with the weights in the Flight Tuning System at all, to try to compensate for that left miss?
Fairways are right to left clubs for me, it’s the club in the bag I don’t play a fade with so the flight was anticipated honestly.
That said, I believe this was set up heavy heel, it’s what’s got me curious about the head more and how it would do with the weight moved out to the toe.
We didn’t for this video, as we kept it at standard but with that much weight it should help quite a bit. I will say that the starting left may have been monitor alignment, as we shot this the same day we were swapping back and forth between GCQuad and GC3 for another video.
It was indeed the merry go round of launch monitors
Look forward to your thoughts after getting the pro on the course. I’m looking forward to getting it out on some fairways that are reasonably dry.
#testing
Check it out because the sound of the club is quite evident in the video. Personally, I think it sounds great.
It’s a sound that exudes confidence in the shot. Can tell it’s a solid shot by only the sound.
Does it sound good enough to knock out a Morgan Cup winning club out of the bag?
Look forward to catching it over lunch.
Just a random bit here, this one is much more in line with the Big Tour than the standard Rad fairway imo.
It kicked my Radspeed big tour 3 wood to the backup position.
Probably can’t answer that, but its a worthy test.
As it should for a TEEm guy!
Competition wasn’t even close. The pro made it an easy decision. For me the 15 deg 721 pro launches higher and easier off the deck. For the player looking for an alternative to driver off the tee the 13 degree could be a true beast.
Personally I don’t even notice the ridgeback at setup. The matte finish of the top of club blends the ridgeback and carbon perfectly.
I’m with @bbutler here, I honestly don’t even really notice at set up. I’m looking more at the clubface than the ridge.
I think it’s quite noticeable, but it’s better in the matte. It’s something that is going to stand out to most because it’s unique and that’s ok, if that makes sense.
It’s noticeable, but I don’t think distracting in anyway. Plus, the matte looks fantastic.
You’re used to it though, it’s going to be a mental thing for most, but the matte makes it blend a lot better.
Thanks now that’s all I’ll see. ??
It’s honestly not all THAT deep, but the 721 was just more shallow, quite shallow actually.
That’s good stuff Donny!
Thats awesome Donny!
You seeing a lot higher launch off the tee compared to the fairway? About the same?
the Pro model 3 wood is a bit higher than the driver but i can carry it quite well off the tee
off the deck its amaz-balls ; I had a shot off the deck yesterday on a par 5 but i was on a slight downslope 230 out and it Launched ! i actually hit it just off the back edge of the green, the last 50 yards was rolling on the ground
I’m having a bit of trouble getting it in the air from the fairway. I’ve seen some launch off the deck at the range, but have yet to execute in the course.
From the tee though…high and far!!
I’m looking forward to some roll out. Everything here if launched high is within a few feet of ball mark.
I’m loving it off the deck. Not sure out of the 6 rounds I’ve played with it I have any strikes with it off deck that I wasn’t very happy with. There are however a few tee shots that I put a bad swing on. It’s a keeper for sure. My other 3 wood hasn’t seen the light of day since the pro arrived.
My results have been good, straight and good advancement. But just not what I’m looking for. Luke I mentioned, just need more time I think. I’ve seen the potential though on the range, it’s definitely there.
Finally got a chance to get out and play a few more rounds with the Pro 721. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to review it more lately – so many things going on and trying to keep the fam healthy – just haven’t been able to get out much.
Overall – This is a winner. Dead on Winner. IT will stay in the bag and has moved the Ping G410 out of the 3W slot. I have the 15* 3 fairway and now that I’ve gotten used to the club I can overwhelmingly state that this is one of the most solid fairways I’ve ever had. One of the things that I like about it the most right now is that I can get the ball off the deck pretty easily. The weighting is such that when it hits the ball it just pops and goes. I’ve gained confidence with it and didn’t mishit it once today and was 3/3 on fairways hit today using it. Tiny baby draws – probably due to the weighting. While it does not go farther than my other, it is so much more accurate, which equals confidence, and then hopefully that equals better scores in the long run.
I’m getting used to the sound. It is a muted "thwack" sort of sound, but nothing that will make you run away from it. I think of it as consistent to a composite bat. One person called it a dead sound today – but I’m starting to be able to tell how well I’ve hit it just based on the sound. ("Oh that’s about a 230 sound… or that’s about 250…." ).
I’m liking it so much that I’ve toyed around with the idea of getting a 13 degree to see if there’s a difference – but I figured if I’m hitting so well – why change anything.
If you’re in the market for a new fairway or just in a heated argument with your current – check out the TE Pro 721 Fairway. You won’t regret it. Winner winner chicken dinner!
It’s really not noticeable. As with any club you have to get used to what you’re looking at. No different here. But nothing that is standoffish or an overall no go.
You out a great swing on it. Just by the sound you could tell it was zipped!

Next hole, from the left rough. No problem getting through it. Good ball flight, a little low, but plenty of roll down the fairway.

Last one was better than the end result. Hit a reall good shot off the fairway, but a bit right. Bounced right off the stone cart path, then hit a tree taking it even farther right. Still had the distance to set up a wedge.

Very nice. I’ll be back in Oklahoma where fairways roll out instead of plug like in gulf shores. Can’t wait to see what it does back home.
If you get what I get, you’ll be happy with the end results!
You’re hitting it better than your Driver ?
On that one shot, I sure did. That drive of 196 probably went the same height . Almost completely missed the ball. The 3w is a great club off the tee though, especially when I’m swinging it well. I’ve had a few days on the range when I wasn’t, and it would be hard to pull the 3w over the driver, due to the head size. The 3w is just more demanding, but you put a good swing on it, finding the center of the face, and it’ll go!
Not speaking for others, but the 4 members of the TEEm received the 3w, which is why there’s more talk about it. I’d be curious if others have tried out the Pro hybrid.
