It is officially Hot Launch time. Tour Edge has done a tremendous job in finding a pattern to their releases that not only keeps them in discussion, but allows both the Hot Launch and Exotics lines to work together in ensuring there is something for everyone. With the 725 Exotics release coming in this past fall, the time for 525 in Hot Launch is now upon us.
The Hot Launch Progression
For Tour Edge, this line has always intended to be the game-improvement based release that is focused on distance and forgiveness above all else. In recent years, it has always featured E (Extreme) and C (Competition) options, but this year that is going to change. You see, the fact that “C” existed in both Hot Launch and Exotics, created some unnecessary blurring. The C clubs here encroached on what the Exotics E’s were trying to do, so it needed to be simplified.

Moving forward, Hot Launch will still consist of E designs, but it will now be joined by what Tour Edge calls the “X-range”. To make it more simple, E is now the game improvement option which is based upon trickle down Exotics technologies while X is super game-improvement whose primary goal is anti-slice offset with super low CG’s for maximum playability.
“This marks a new era for Hot Launch, with our best-feeling and best-looking performance-enhancement clubs we’ve ever produced,” said David Glod, Founder and CEO of Tour Edge. “The X-range offers golfers a new ‘X-factor’ to boost their game with cutting-edge SGI innovations, while the E-range is the highest-level of GI with a perfect balance of distance and forgiveness in more traditional shapes.
As important as the tech is, there is also another emphasis for Tour Edge with this new generation of Hot Launch. The brand is continuing its belief that custom fitting matters, especially in the more game-improvement segment of golf clubs. So, the 525 Series will be available for custom fitting at over 1,500 locations. As if that weren’t enough though, they are also continuing their 48-hour expedited shipping program for custom orders within the Continental United States.
While the Hot Launch 525 Series will consist of an entire lineup which THP will be bringing you all of the information on, this specific release article focuses on the drivers.
Hot Launch 525 Series Drivers

It only makes sense to talk about the new kid on the block first. Yes, Tour Edge and their Hot Launch lineup has gone “X”. The X525 driver is a 460cc design which is all about maximizing forgiveness while adding playability in terms of launch and direction. This is a Titanium driver head which not only uses back-heel placed 10g weight but also has an offset hosel to maximize the anti-slice intent and simultaneously increase launch. Not to mention, Tour Edge is touting some serious lateral MOI in the X525 driver.

On the other side is the E525 driver. Here, the singular rear weight has been placed dead center and there is no offset to the bonded hosel. The clubhead uses a 360-degree Cup Face which is implemented into the 6-4 Titanium 460cc head to allow for more flex on all strikes to increase speed. Additionally, it also has a “Center Sole Rail Design” which extends from leading to trail edge in the dead center of the sole to push the CG as low as possible. Both of these design traits are unique to the E525 and look to optimize speed, spin, and power.

The two drivers do also share some tech though. Both clubheads are implementing a version of the original Ridgeback Technology which Exotics used for many cycles as well as unique variations of Diamond Face VFT. Likewise, they also feature the UST Mamiya Helium Nanocore (L, A, R, S) shaft to tie things together, after all, the target audience for Hot Launch is all about maximizing speed and playability.

Due to the bonded hosels, there will be three lofts available for each driver. The E525 can be ordered in 9.0, 10.5, and 12.0 while the X525 driver is offered in 10.5, 12.0, as well as a very cool HL option that is 15.0 degrees.
The Details
Tour Edge’s newest Hot Launch lineup will be coming to retail on 3/1/25. Both driver models will be priced at an incredibly enticing $249.99.

I was going to say this is the best looking Hot Launch driver to date, then I saw the crown. It stands out for sure. But, looks take a back seat to performance always! That 15° HL model has always piqued my interest.
Dang – The color combo looks fantastic – Going to have some shelf appeal for sure.
I think the move to E and X was a good one. It never really made sense to me that the HL C was more or less an Exotics E shape.
Color choice is very nice and I’m sure these will perform way above their price tag.

This was my thoughts as well until I saw the crown. That being said the price is going to be hard to beat and pretty cool with the UST Nanocore!

I might be in the minority, but I like the look of it.
The price alone should make some think more about these Tour Edge offerings.

It’s polarizing for sure. I think the Ridgeback tech on the previous Exotics models turned people off. And, with this HL release, they turned it up to 11! It is a great alignment aid.
These went back to the visible ridge back design. I like the E series and X series for the 525 line seems like a bigger segment to hit than a C line.
Without a doubt the best looking Hot Launch drivers to date.
Something tells me a LOT of golfers would do really well with the X525 HL. I once had a 12* driver that I lofted up to 14* and it was an absolute fairway finder.
The price point is amazing. The color scheme is nice. The crown is different but if it performs it’s not a deal breaker and I could see really liking it once you got used to it. Just really different than most.

Going to be hard to beat price wise if this thing performs.
I like the look of the club for the most part. Which they would have hidden the ridgeback tech, instead of highlighting it though.
Love the color scheme. The crown could take some getting used to. But excited for the info and the new release.
The aesthetics on these are amazing, I love the improvements they’ve made; they look so futuristic!
Like the improvements and the clear differentiation between lines (exotic vs hot launch), but not liking the crown the raised bit looks distracting, but v one can get over that if it delivered results!
the pronounced ridgeback takes some getting used to but if the performance is there, so what? they are still very good-looking drivers.
That HL is sweet as an option.

Agreed and you said what i meant better than what i wrote.
Wow, to me this announcement seemingly came out of nowhere.
Love the color scheme.

Definitely in line with what the Ridgeback is visually, I don’t think we will see 360 Ridgeback make it’s way to HL for a while yet.

I do think it had to be more pronounced this time because the head doesn’t use any carbon like the Exotics models with ridgeback, if that makes sense.
Still though, I agree with you, it’s a darn good looking HL release, it’s the most “finished” I can recall.

Either i missed this or didn’t realize it. Thanks for clarifying this changes things a bit for me with the look.
I like the color they have picked and the price point is freaking amazing but the crown is throwing me off a bit. I guess i would not care if i was dropping the ball in the fw every time. Nice write up @Jman
The bottom of the club looks fantastic. They really did a great job with that. The crown, I just don’t love. I do like they they included an HL model. It’s nice to see an option like that for people that need a little more help with launch and height.
I like the fact that they’re really defining the HL and the Exotics instead of blurring them. That should make it easier for people to know what they need to get.
I like the separation of their lines. Really good looking club. I gamed the C722 with the ridgeback and enjoyed it. The bonded hosel is a bit strange to me.

This is my ultimate take on it all as well, like I said in the article, to me the HL and Exotics got a little too blurred last time, this definitely gives specific lanes now though.
I’ve just bought the E525 and it is long and straight I’ve got the 9 degrees with helium 60 stiff flex and I’m a 12 handicapper coming from a Calloway Epic sub zero which is a long club also and this gives nothing away in distance at all but it is so much easier to hit ,it’s my first tour edge driver and it won’t be my last ,awesome club I found 95% of shots had a slight right to left shape , bonus
