Admittedly, Tour Edge likely won’t be among the first names you think of when it comes to tech forward putters, but they are trying to change that. When the brand brought their Wingman putters to retail in 2022 it showed their belief that they could innovate within the segment while also being at a highly competitive price point.
The Wingman 700 series of putters were met with positive overall feedback from both THP as well as our community of amateur golfers. However, no first effort is perfect and along with the positivity there were some constructive criticisms. Tour Edge took all of it in and went back to work until they had created the new Wingman 800 lineup.

The Story – Tour Edge Wingman 800 Series
Visually, the new Wingman 800 putters are not aimed at the traditionalist. Honestly, though some may disagree, this feels like a much more focused Tour Edge release. Rather than trying to offer something for everyone, be it shape or alignment, they appear to have committed to picking their lane and going all in on it. That is a respectable, and intelligent decision.
When it comes to shapes, the Wingman 800 line consists of three different looks that are available in two different shaft options to have both face-balanced and toe-hang variations for each. The heads are cast 304 Stainless Steel which are face milled to implement the proprietary new “W Precision Milled Face” that looks not only to improve feel by removing surface area impacting the ball but also aiding in forward roll.

The shapes themselves are all focused on stability just as the 700 series was, however Tour Edge does note that they have increased the MOI considerably with 800. To do that, they moved to an aluminum sole plate with a hollow center which gets more weight low and to the perimeter, specifically the heel/toe. This is then combined with the implementation of Tour Edge’s VIBRCOR TPU material behind the face. Together these traits look to dramatically improve the feel, which was one of the main issues some had with the original lineup.

We put a large amount of focus on feel for the 800 Series by removing the face insert from past designs and going with a solid precision milled face, as well as by adding a soft VIBRCOR TPU directly behind the face, leading to the best feeling putter we’ve ever designed.
David Glod – CEO of Tour Edge
The feel, balance, and roll are great, but alignment matters too. Here, Tour Edge is again not concerned with tradition and are instead all-in on increasing golfers’ confidence in where they are aimed. By using a wide high-contrast white alignment stripe on all three head shapes, the goal was to draw the eye to the center of the putter face each and every time to inspire less thinking and more freedom on the greens.

The Models – Tour Edge Wingman 800 Series
The 801/802 (slant/double-bend) is a Spider like mallet which will likely be the most familiar to most golfers. Meanwhile, the 803/804 (slant/double-bend) is Tour Edge’s take on the fanged mallet and the 805/806 (slant/plumber’s neck) is blend of double-wide blade meets mid-mallet mini-fang. All certainly have their own unique twist on MOI and use a deep navy PVD finish that should stand out just as much as the shapes themselves.

The Details
Each of the designs within the Wingman 800 lineup will be offered in 34” as well as 35” and will be RH only. The putters officially come to retail on 4/15/25 and will be priced at an ultra-competitive $169.99. Be sure to keep an eye on the THP Community for much more to come on Wingman 800.

I like that they are trying to stand out and do something different with popular shapes. Not just copy.
I really love the finish on these putters, and I think the alignment system will be beneficial to a lot
@Jman have you tried these yet? Curious how the feel off the face is with the new design
And for the price…hard to beat
Milled + Vibracor has the potential for a vastly improved feel over the prior generation. Vibracor in the wedges made for a really excellent feel. Big fan of the Ws on the face :ROFLMAO:
I’m bummed they went away from Lock-On with these as I felt like that helped me a lot and was a really distinguishing feature of the last line.
Received an email from TE on these today. The 803 has really caught my eye. Like the shape (not sure about the holes behind the face, like the color, the milling looks at the very least interesting, but as TE does I realized immediately was not strictly a cosmetic thing. The weight seems decent too (I graviate to heavier back weighted putters. If these fall into tester’s hands I’ll be eager to see how they perform.
I have always wondered (at least when contemplating a putter change) why no one does the softer material behind the face (like in irons and woods). I have always assumed (and to be honest still scratch my head at it a bit), that putters just don’t impact the ball with enough force to impact the face and any material behind it. But having played (recently) both a milled steel face and an insert, maybe there is something to this.
I think these look super, really like the milling, and color (can’t say that enough).
Someone said the grooves look like a WWE logo and now that is all I see.

The 805/806 is such an interesting shape and has me wanting to try it. It’s outside of the norm, but also great looking putter.
After trying a few different shapes over the past few years, I realized I’m a mid-mallet/double wide user and can’t get past it. It the shape and size that suits my eye.
That milling is amazing!
As soon as I saw the alignment, I thought Nickent Pipe series
I know others have had alignment like this since, but it took me back to a time when I thought I had tons of confidence in my puting stroke and my alignment.

Back in the day the Nike Method putters were some of my favorite feeling putters and they had elastomer in/behind the milled face. I believe Yes had some putters like that as well. It seems to be something that has fallen out of favor, but I think makes a lot of sense for TE in this line
Also, as @bsbmike said, the price point, seems like one ought to give these a roll if they can, but also remember that TE offers no questions asked refunds if you can’t demo and just choose to buy direct. 30 days, to try it and send back TE won’t cover shipping but that’s a minor cost (I believe for longish demo).
But again, on the same day Cameron releases more $500 putters, TE offers some that appear well made for roughly 60% less.
I enjoyed the 705 series putter that I reviewed. The Lock on technology was great, I just could not get a good feel with the insert. This new series looks fantastic. Now with the milled face and Vibracore, I would be very interested in trying the 805 to see how it performs.
I tested the 2022 series and was impressed. I thought the alignment system was really good. I like the design, look, and pricepoint of these.
I bet they feel pretty dang good. That milled face is lovely!
Looks and sounds like a solid lineup at a great price. Would love to try the 801.

We do not have them in hand….yet!
Didnt expect to like these as much as I do, that 801/802 and 803/804 shaping is right in my wheelhouse. Love the finish and the price point is ?
like the look of the 802 and 804. The double wide thing, not so much. The face milling and insert sound interesting as well. Looking forward to reviews.
Saw this in email form earlier today, I really like the TE designs for their Mallets
I like these a lot. I remember asking Tour Edge if they expected a milled face on the wingman series back on a THP Live chat. Cool to actually see them come to life.
That face is sharp and love the finish. The double wide is something. Very curious about it and hope I can find one in the wild locally.
These look great. Particularly a fan of #7/fang-ish style model. Alignment looks great. Hope they find some success with these.
I must say it seems like tour edge is just laying it all out on the table. It might be weird to some, but I love those blade-ish designs.
Enjoy them doing different shapes and the removal of the insert may help feel and sound a ton since I know sound was an issue in some of the earlier release.
Love the look of the Ws on the face and the alignment aid!
I imagine those are very easy to line up, but not sure I could mentally look at it. Would need to see one in person. Photos make them look on the bigger side.
I like the looks of this iteration so much more. The face looks like it was sponsored by Wario! Haha
These are much improved over previous models aesthetically.
Not being a fan of mallets I was interested in the 805/806 but they both have toe hang and I’m a face balanced putter, which is a bummer.

Come to the mallet/fang dark side, I was an anser style guy forever. Then a fat back anser style now mallets albeit smaller ones, I have no issue with, now talk to me about double bend shafts – that’s a whole other thing.

If you can look at double bend your can “glance” at a mallet. ?

Of the group the 803/804 catches my eye and I’m interested in how the milled face sounds/feels. My local course carries Tour Edge so I’ll have the chance to roll a few next month.
I really like the PVD finish on these and the mallet shapes look good. Again another putter at a killer price point.
Love the color and variation in models, a nice lineup for them

This is me too. Love the blue.
I got to test/review the 700 series as part of the 2023 TEEm Tour Edge (706 center shaft), and liked everything about it except the face insert. Going to the milled face in the 800 series would be a big deal for me, in a good way, and the finish looks like it might be a nice step up too. Not sure I’m a fan of the new alignment, I really liked the Lock-On Alignment of the 700 series, that huge patch of white on these ones might be a bit much though.

I’m rather excited to hit a few putts with it.
Love the price point. Very meh on everything else about them. The 804 is a decent take on that shape though.

Such cool face milling
Pictures look great.
100% the biggest surprise for me is getting one of these in hand yesterday.
It looks really good.
The blue finish is WAY higher quality than I expected, and honestly one of the best I’ve seen.
Bigger yet? The white contrast quality is better too and the sound/feel is an entirely different level than last time around.
Plus, I rolled it pretty well

It feels like a well milled putter.
No click, SUUUUUURE no harshness like last time, just a nice muted, solid, “tock” feedback.
I’m really excited to get it home on my own greens. For the price, what I experienced yesterday absolutely blew me away.

That’s awesome…I mean at the price point it was attractive anyways, but seems like it might be one of the most worth it for what they cost putters

The interesting thing to me will be the shapes. I’ve got the Spider look version and it’s really well done, but, I also know the other two are much more abstract…
I’m curious how those will be received
