Voice Caddie has made a commitment to personal launch monitors and the new SC300i brings a lot to the table on paper. Improvements across the board, while still hitting a price point that is palatable was the goal and the company might have nailed it.
The Voice Caddie SC300i is said to deliver much improved accuracy and consistency over the previous model, along with increasing battery life by 66%. Using high-performance Doppler radar technology, and calibrating atmospheric pressure sensors, the SC300i tracks essential data points such as carry/total distance, ball speed, swing speed, launch angle, apex, smash factor, and spin (spin is displayed in the MySwingCaddie app only).
While the MySwingCaddie app will provide users with the most complete experience, the launch monitor is not dependent on using it. The SC300i unit itself features a large orange and black LCD display as well as voice output for distance.
By using a tablet or smartphone, connection is done via bluetooth and works with the new MySwingCaddie app to track and even offers the ability to save the data. You can record swings via video and even use graphics to overlay over the swing during evaluation of practice session. SC300i works with both iOS and Android devices.
Could this be the device that changes the game for personal launch monitors? We should have our hands on one pretty soon and testing it out in the THP Tech Studio. Lofty aspirations, but the company seems committed and in our conversations we think they might have something here.

It very well could be indoors vs outdoors. Trackman would be about 5 yards difference too during our testing. It was actually a 9 iron also haha. I forgot to set the iron, but its OL anyway
I wondered if indoor vs outdoor, but I would have also thought it wouldn’t matter after the first few feet. Now I’m wondering what happens if you try and launch it as low as possible if it’ll give some weird numbers like previous Vector launch monitors would do.
Also, I’m "shocked" trackman would be a little off.
I ended up taking 5 swings including a knockdown 9 as the last one. It was genuinely with in a few yards of the Quad on every one of them. Later this week, I will pull up the app to compare spin data and get a full overview of Quad data as well. Its intriguing though, because it seems pretty darn close.
Looking forward to more testing data. Interest is certainly peaked if this one passes the @JB test. I know the prior version was panned pretty badly, but it is good to see some improvements were made to it. I know you were certainly not a fan of the prior version.
I struggled with consistency for sure. 5 balls hit, all were close. Small sample size, but looking forward to more.
Have no doubt this test will be worn out with different clubs as well. Not bad for the price for sure. If GCQuad would just come down like 90%, this would be a moot point altogether…
Not looking forward to seeing how much variation I have in my ball striking, but hopefully the knowledge will help me get better and motivate me to practice more.

Ok, I’ll be the one:
"I’m impressed"
hit it with a short and a long iron today against the quad and the numbers were close most of the time.
Great to hear! I’m really looking forward to the complete review. :thumb:
Great to hear, but potentially bad for my wallet. It would be hard to pass on it if it’s accurate and consistent enough to actually be useful.

color me jealous
But distance on the shot today with my iron said 149.8 yards (shot above Dan took a picture of). That is pretty much what I was playing for, hit it well and would have been what I expected.
Putting in some more testing over the next week and then will have full feedback.
We were in the middle of the fairway Waiting on the group in front of us and I was able to get it out of the bag, in place, and ready within about 20 seconds. Pretty awesome.
just the device itself? or paired with a phone/tablet as well?
At that sample, just the device.
I’ll let @JB speak to the efficiency of the app.
Really awesome… Seems they really listened and set up to change the game
Now the only other feature needed would be able to pair the SC300i up with SIM software then I would be golden.
Couldn’t find how one does this from their site. Just shows pictures.

Looking forward to your thoughts
In regards to distances I was hitting to targets I could get a distance with my range finder. I did hit some bad shots and the unit was really good at picking those up.
Took some video but can’t find them in the app.
Really excited to see how this helps me dial in the clubs.
Yes.
Hopefully it’s the real thing.

I’ll give that a try.

Not at all. In fact it is working quite well. Travel has hindered final testing phase, but it will be done soon.
Sounds promising looking forward to the final review.

Based on hole yardages and using his rangefinder to check distances to flags etc, it seemed to pick up fairly well on most shots in terms of distance, but there were a number of shots that it completely misread
Couple examples
1 – He hit a drive and it gave him his numbers, then I hit mine (badly) and it told me I was 1yd shorter, with an apex about 50ft higher than his, yet my ball was a good 20yds behind his
2 – He apparently hit a mid-iron with a swing speed of 155mph and ball speed of 100mph according to the unit
I don’t know if he had set up the unit with his iron lofts, but seeing as we play completely different irons, I am guessing that could possibly account for some yardage discrepancies, but for a ‘cheap’ launch monitor it seemed to give a good account of itself
If you’ve read our reviews on the SC100 and SC200, I had the pleasure of doing those, so it’ll be interesting to see how far they’ve come with this one.
And yes, I’ll have my Foresight to do a little side by side work!
Getting app set up tonight and then going to TRY and start the feedback tomorrow
Excited to hear your thoughts
