Titleist’s Vokey WedgeWorks has built a reputation as the undisputed leader when it comes to creating unique grinds and sole designs for both Tour players and amateur golfers. We are regularly graced with a new offering, often created by Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill after some sort of request from a Tour player. The beauty of WedgeWorks is that they can bring ideas to life in almost real time, often on the Titleist Tour Truck. Vokey supplies over 50% of the wedges in PGA Tour bags, so as you can imagine the requests are diverse. Some players need loft adjustments, a bit more weight in certain areas, or a bit of the sole ground down in a precise location. Other requests are aesthetic in nature, like initials or phrases stamped into the back of the wedge.

“The customization of wedges has changed so much over the years,” said Dill. “I can remember my first time visiting the tour department in Carlsbad in May of 2005 and seeing Bob’s in-house sample rack with dozens of custom wedges. Almost all were stamped with a player’s initials, and I thought that was such a unique way to tell whose wedge was whose. I started stamping myself, and shortly after I joined the tour in 2007, I saw an opportunity to go further and explore new and fun ways to highlight players’ personalities on the backs of their Vokey wedges.”
One player had a different idea in mind though. One that wasn’t so much about adding flair, but calming his mind when it came to looking at the loft stamped on his wedge.

“One player I recall needed his sand wedge to carry an additional eight yards, but he didn’t want to change to a different model,” said Dill. “Even though a stronger-lofted sand wedge helped him hit the number he was looking to fly it, he hated seeing the new loft on the sole. The easiest solution was for me to remove the loft marking and replace it with a simple ‘S’ stamping. He loved it, and the feature stuck.”
Eventually, this idea of welding out the loft number and stamping a letter in its place grew in popularity, with numerous players trading “52”, “56”, and “60” for “P”, “G”, “S”, and “L”. Players like Will Zalatoris, Tom Kim, and Wyndham Clark all have joined in on this new trend, and today Vokey WedgeWorks is bringing it to market for amateurs to enjoy. The new Vokey WedgeWorks Tour Toe Stamp wedges are almost a throwback of sorts, simplifying the visuals we see on the toe of our wedges.

Progressive shaping ensures that full-swing wedges and touch-shot wedges look and perform like we want them to.
Each Tour Toe Stamp wedge can also be customized with a variety of stamping, engraving, and paint fill options. The stock shaft is the Dynamic Gold S200. Available only in RH, are priced at $249 per wedge and can be ordered on the Vokey website, Vokey.com.
Sorta retro vibe, I like it!
Cool concept for sure. I kinda like the numbers though ?
I think these are very cool. Would definitely consider them as an option.
I’ve never had a Vokey wedge but I like the new toe stamps rather than numbers.
Really like that look. Wish they weren’t $249 each. Wow
very cool update from vokey. Considering all the customization, this makes sense.
The clean look of this stamping is awesome, I like it!
So what’s new is the P, G, S, L … like it.
It’s a cool option but they’re basically charging like an extra $60 to change the stamping? That seems excessive.
Very cool. I like it, but not sure I’d pay the extra price tag though.
if it was an option when ordering a custom wedge I’d probably choose it, but I wouldn’t spend the extra money for it.
I mean, it’s cool if seeing a number gives you the jitters … but personally, I don’t mind seeing 50, 55, 59. I know it’s traditionally a Gap, Sand, Lob. But I don’t think those are relevant labels. I lob a 55 sometimes and use a 59 in the bunker. We are accustomed to seeing and using these labels.
I believe it’s a whatever works for you kind of thing.
Very nice option if someone didn’t like the numbers. Not something I would spend the extra dollars on just to see it in the bag.
This is a fun customization…I always liked seeing tour players rock this option. Love how they’re bringing it to the public
It’s fun. But not worth the upcharge.
I actually think this is pretty cool, and super simple for them to offer.
Think of the $60 along the lines of a wedge “headcover”. I can see it now:
“What’s the loft on your sandwedge bruh?”
“Whatever you want it to be….”
?
Retro is fun, pricing is not
Surprised they didn’t do this in low bounce K which seems to be a wedge gaining a lot of popularity
Cool concept, but I would def screw this up a couple times mid round (sand instead of lob, or vice versa) ?
Very simple and clean. Really liking the retro look, but pricey
I like!

They’re only available in the Raw which is already more expensive. So it’s really an additional $24 for the stamping, which is right in line with the rest of their prices for things like flight lines and customization.
More options are never a bad thing. I kinda dig these. They wouldn’t be my first choice if going WedgeWorks, but that’s only because of the grinds offered on.
Numbers, letters, doesn’t really matter to me, so long as I know what the loft/bounce/grind actually is, and of course that the wedge works for me. So I guess I’m saying it isn’t something I’d pay extra for.
I like it but not worth the extra charge.

I’ll co-sign that.
Me, I like seeing the letters, and if it were an option, it’s what I’d choose every time. I don’t need letters at $250 per wedge though.
Good for Titleist/Vokey going this retro way.
I like it but don’t like that its only a Raw finish option
Cool story behind it and kind of surprising. Fun of them to offer them to the public
Dig the retro aspect of this. Not something i would pay that much extra for, but i dig that there are options.
They look pretty good

Do love that raw finish.
