Vokey WedgeWorks initially stopped producing the V Grind after launching it on the SM6. However, they reintroduced it to the market almost seven years later with the WedgeWorks SM9. Fortunately for fans of this particular grind, the wait for the next version was much shorter. Today, Vokey is introducing the newest WedgeWorks V Grind.

The V grind is the fourth WedgeWorks grind released for the SM10, joining the Low Bounce K, L Grind, and A+ Grind. When releasing these options, there is always a specific player/swing type as its intended target. Instead of taking my word for it, let’s hear from Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill on what player profile matches perfectly with the WedgeWorks V Grind.
“V Grind players are often a little steeper in their deliveries. They have a little more shaft lean, which means they’re delofting and taking some bounce away. The V Grind also really suits them in softer conditions, or if they’re playing on courses with grainy turf. That’s where the forward bounce comes into play.”

When examining the sole of the V Grind, golfers will notice that the bounce is pushed slightly forward, creating a steep bounce angle that prevents digging. This design provides increased bounce for square-faced shots. Additionally, the enhanced relief on the heel, toe, and trailing edge allows the V Grind to be played open with a leading edge close to the ground, providing the versatility desired by the best players in the world.
V Grind will be available in two lofts, 58° and 60°, featuring 10° of bounce. As a WedgeWorks release, it will come with a Raw finish that will develop a beautiful rust over time.

SM10 TECHNOLOGY
- High and forward center of gravity progression – The CG is moved up and forward for SM10 lofts of 54-62 degrees, which provides a lower trajectory and a squarer face at impact. The higher CG provides a lower trajectory with more spin and greenside control, and moving the CG forward enables the face to square more easily at impact, resulting in a tighter dispersion.
- Patented Spin Milled process for maximum spin – Every SM10 groove is cut to the edge to maximize spin. Each Vokey wedge is 100% inspected for utmost quality and performance.
ADVANCED PERSONALIZATION AND CUSTOM OPTIONS
Vokey Design SM10 wedges feature a modern, clean look, which provides a canvas for customization. The WedgeWorks custom options include:
- Eight unique toe engravings
- Stamping options | 10-character Straight/Freestyle stamping; 15 characters around the toe; and two lines of 10 characters each
- Custom paint-filled | Loft and Grind markings and BV Wings logo
- SM10 wedges can also be custom ordered with an industry-leading selection of shafts, grips, shaft bands, and ferrules. For a complete list of options, visit Vokey.com.
WedgeWorks V Grind is available today on vokey.com and in shops worldwide for $225.
Had a set of V-Grinds through WW back in the day with the SM6’s and loved it. Excited to see them bringing it back again.
Good looking wedge. Do wish the V grind was available in the 54*.

It is a bit surprising, I know back with the 6’s I went 54/58 through WW for the V-grind.

I want to say the previous one was only 58/60 as well.

Yeah, last time it was offered below that was with the SM6 WW release I believe. I still have them. Hahaha
That’s a good looking wedge.
I have the SM9 V grind and it’s a solid wedge. I think having it with the improved CG location would be really nice.
I like the added bounce of the V grinds.
This is an interesting grind design that I’d like to see.

I love how we keep getting a continued CG evolution in the SM series.
This grind looks very enticing.
Played my first round with this today, really fun. I was able to hit some nicely clipped chip shots that gave me a little trouble with the D Grind I had been playing.
I ordered the 60* V grind because it seems to provide a little more versatility over my S grind around the green.
For anyone playing the V grind, how does it play out of the sand? Interested in maybe adding a 58° as I have seen a drop in sand play since I changed grinds/bounces this year.
I think it’s awesome from the sand. You could play a square face shot and use all the bounce in fluffy sand. I had a 30 yarder last weekend from wet/packed sand. Opened it up a little and it slipped through it no problem, felt very fast, didn’t dig, and didn’t bounce off of it.

I open up the face on my M grind a lot . How does the V grind play when open up ?? Seems like the leading edge would sit way high looking at the pictures.
Not at all, ton of relief on the trailing edge
As mentioned, the heel relief allows the leading edge to stay quite low when opening the face. I was able to hit open face pitches from tight lies easily with it.
