Even the best golfers in the world understand that golf can be frustrating, but it’s meant to be fun. Perhaps no golf ball company understands that more than Volvik, who pioneered manufacturing colored golf balls. Peruse their website, and you’ll discover an array of color options that could fill a Crayola box. Volvik specializes in high-visibility golf balls that help express one’s personality, and today, they are introducing two updated options with the Vivid Soft and Crystal Soft golf balls.

“We’re proud to expand our product offerings with the Vivid Soft and Crystal Soft models, our flagship products that put Volvik on the map globally for their unique innovation and visibility,” said Seung-seok Hong, Volvik’s CEO. “These golf balls exemplify our commitment to delivering innovative, multilayer performance products for golfers seeking both unique visibility and high performance.”
What’s Inside?
While it’s easy to get distracted by the bright colors of the Vivid and Crystal golf balls, we shouldn’t judge a golf ball by its cover. Instead, we should see what’s on the inside that counts. Underneath the cover is Volvik’s Nano Bismuth Dual Core technology. Bismuth is a metal property broken down into fine particles and added to the core. During the manufacturing process, these materials expand during heating and constrict when the core is cooled down. You remember those fundamental laws of science, right? Because of these particles, the density of the core gets stronger, which helps allow for more elasticity at impact, leading to additional ball speed for the golfer. Meanwhile, this Nano Bismuth Dual Core receives a lower compression design, which helps enhance the soft feeling that is delivered at impact.
Volvik Vivid Soft

Vivid has historically been the attention seeker for Volvik golf. In a market saturated with plain white golf balls, Vivid’s bright matte finishes are easily recognizable. We get Volkik’s renowned matte technology for Vivid Soft, which helps make the balls more visible and durable. There’s also a performance aspect to the matte finish on Volvik’s products. Last year, Brandon Sowell of Volvik Golf mentioned on THP Radio’s Off Course podcast that Volvik generally sees about 5% more spin on their matte-finished golf balls than on their more traditional covers. While the Vivid Soft and Crystal Soft carry similar construction characteristics, golfers may notice slightly more spin out of the Vivid Soft. Vivid Soft has seven color options, including white, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, and blue.
Volvik Crystal Soft
Crystal Soft forgoes the matte finish and instead offers a high gloss cover, which still provides high visibility. Golfers can choose from a full dozen boxes of white or red. For those who enjoy a bit of unpredictability, an assorted dozen is also available, which includes a sleeve of green, orange, pink, and yellow.
Vivid Soft and Crystal Soft benefit from Volvik’s 322 dimple design, which delivers a mid-high trajectory while offering less drag to promote more roll-out yardage. They also provide a center line design, allowing golfers to align their ball with either vertical or horizontal lines. These markings are certainly more prominent than what is found on the new VTU3 and VTU4 golf balls.

The Details
Volvik’s new Vivid Soft and Cyrstal Soft golf balls will be available beginning on February 1st and will be priced at $29.99.

Priced competitively and there’s really nothing like the color they get into these Vivid balls. Something everybody should see in person.
I played the Crystal Combi late last year and I was surprised by performance in a good way.
Think these balls would fit more players than one would think.
Nano Bismuth Dual Core sounds like it should be a bigger deal! That’s sounds pretty cool
Not the Vivid Soft…but my little dude is enjoying some garage golf tonight and has his Vivid Spiderman and Captain America balls in play haha
