While they have been in business since 1980, which is longer than prominent companies such as Callaway and TaylorMade, many golfers stateside are still getting aquainted to what Volvik offers, especially when discussing golf balls that showcase performance over style. When referencing Volvik, most associate the brand with bright-colored golf balls instead of a tour-quality product.
Volvik currently has three balls listed under their Tour Performance category: the Condor, Condor X, and the XT Soft. Last year, not only did THP review those models, but we also put them in the hands of our readers, allowing golfers to provide even more feedback on the performance of those three offerings. Today, Volvik is expanding its tour performance lineup by announcing the new VTU3 and VTU4 golf balls.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the VTU4 and VTU3 models, our first urethane golf balls manufactured in our new state-of-the-art facility,” said Seung-seok Hong, Volvik’s CEO. “This expansion reflects our ongoing investment in research and manufacturing excellence to produce the highest-performing multilayer golf balls in the world. It underscores our unwavering commitment to innovation and the development of groundbreaking products for the future.”
One thing that Volvik wants golfers to know is that while they have plenty of golf balls that offer colors, designs, and even superheroes, they also have plenty of technology inside to help usher in a tour-level performance golf ball. Part of Volvik’s secret sauce is the White Carbon Technology in the golf ball’s core, a topic we discussed the benefits of with the introduction of Condor golf balls. Still, those new to Volvik should know that this material is a more stable polymer, which helps keep the golf ball at high efficiency when it comes to performance. Volvik’s white carbon core helps deliver increased energy transfer for more ball speed and distance. Also, white carbon helps keep the golf ball’s core at its peak performance for longer, resisting any degrading over time.
VTU3

The VTU3 is a three-piece golf ball, as indicated by its name. It is tailored for golfers who enjoy a softer feel without sacrificing distance. With its soft feel and urethane cover, the VTU 3 provides excellent control around the greens. Compared to the Condor, golfers can anticipate a softer feel and increased forgiveness, which improves performance on shots that may not be struck perfectly.
VTU4

Those looking for a four-piece ball will want to gravitate towards the VTU4. Thanks to an advanced dual-core construction, the VTU4 produces a slightly firmer feel and more overall spin. This ball will be more suitable for the golfer with a more precise strike consistency and for those looking for more spin control on approach shots. Golfers playing the VTU4 will experience a lower ball flight with reduced spin rates compared to the four-piece Condor X.
The Details – Volvik VTU3 and VTU4
Regardless of which golf ball piques your interest, the VTU3 and VTU4 feature Volvik’s proprietary 332 dimple pattern, ensuring a stable ball flight and excellent consistency in windy conditions.
If you’re interested in trying out these two new offerings from Volvik, they will be available in stores and online starting on February 1st, 2025 priced at $39.99.
More information on the new VTU3 and VTU4 golf balls is available at www.volvik.com.
I am perhaps more intrigued and excited to try out this release than I am any other golf ball release in 2025.

Love that alignment line. Triple track is still my favorite, but this is a nice compromise.

Interesting for sure
To say I’m stoked to have the opportunity to test this release would be an understatement. I very much became a fan of Volvik the moment I read their brand story on THP at the end of 2023. A few months later the Off Course episode with Volvik really drove home the fact that they were worthy of much more attention than they seem to receive stateside. I love their story and their commitment to move the needle in a segment as full of allegiances as any other. I’m really looking forward to spending (at least) the next two months giving the VTU3 everything I’ve got!

You’re going to enjoy this quite a bit.
Thanks to playing the XT Soft for so long I feel like I know what to expect on some level, but at the same time I know there are some tangible improvements to look forward to. If you asked me to pick a ball for the season with no take backs, I’d 100% go XT Soft right now. I’m hoping that I can say VTU3 after this is all over.

That speaks volumes. Everyone I know that spent time with the XT Soft speaks so highly of it and I loved the limited experience I had with that golf ball. I also enjoyed aspects on the Condor line. This one honestly excites me as much as any! Risking sounding overdramatic, my day was made by the news that I’ll get to spend time with the VTU3.

Ironically, I ordered 6 dozen for my sons this morning. I completed my purchase, came back to THP, and there was the new notification re: the VTU3 testing. Timing was impeccable.

Two days of cleaning and it should be back up and running tomorrow.
With sub zero temps coming, I’ll have a lot of time to get some data up for everyone haha

I’m pretty excited. To think they have made some improvements from Condor…which I really liked playing.
Looking forward to learning about these hit’em well
Looked for some Volvik golf balls at superstore today to hopefully compare with the VTU but will probably just need to order them online or try golf galaxy
So I just loaded the VTU3 into my bag for some testing this week.
If it is better than Condor i’m going to be seriously impressed. That was one of my favorite balls last year, and there are so many changes to this new model.

Yup, I didn’t get to have any time with Condor, but based off what you all thought, I’m excited.
Really curious to see how these stack up for me to other “fits”.

That surprises me about the Condor because I’d never given Volvik a second thought. Now having tried the Soft XT and loving them on the sim, I’m super curious about the VTU-4 because it seems to compare to the Chrome Tour somewhat and that’s my ball right now.

I don’t care for the distance… I mean I do but it’s not the most important thing anymore… But if you said this, there must be something to them..
And at their current sale price, it seems like they’re definitely worth a look.
Looking forward to hearing the testing results!
If I can get them in hand and the sim results look good, I’m leaning towards playing the VTU3 on my trips to Branson and Myrtle Beach in March. If not it’ll be the XT Soft.
VTU-4’s intrigue me as someone who is on the low side in iron spin. I’m constantly chasing a ball that is going to push those numbers up and not take anything away in other aspects of my game. At this price point too, they are definitely worth a look!
Really can’t wait to get these on SIM and get them tested against CTX.
The makeup of the ball just screams "Speed & Spin" to me.
*White Carbon Power Dual Core: Delivers maximum energy transfer for explosive distance
*L.R.T. Urethane Cover: Advanced technology for superior spin and control
*332 Dimple Pattern: Aerodynamic design for stability and accuracy
*90 Compression: Perfect for golfers seeking power and precision

It’s something I’m curious about as well, I’m eager to compare them to some of the golf balls that have been successful for me in that realm.
As I have already committed to the new ZS Diamond for the year, I am interested in seeing how the VTU4 compares… I don’t know how the difference in number of layers impacts this since I’m such a ball neophyte. I did grab a couple dozen XT Softs since they were on sale so now I have 3 to compare.

Meanwhile, my took a right turn to New Jersey.
Why USPS, Why?
Let’s keep this to the golf balls guys. if you have shipping concerns use a PM to us or a shipping thread
I hit some little 50 yard wedges with a random 60* from the hoard last night with the 4 after setting up the new sim computer.
Obviously, 20 shots is nothing to write a novella on, but the spin was solid, I think I was 7-8000 on just little flippy wedges at the pin. More though, the feel is promising so far.
Really excited to get some swings in tomorrow while I finish up some other review data captures.
I am so excited to begin spending time testing these!

I really do like the appearance of the alignment aid, at first glance. That bit of red stands out, but the aid itself is anything but distracting to my eye.
Excited to start hearing feedback on these. Alignment aid looks really good.
