I just kept hearing the walkers vs riders as "
RegulatorsRiders, Mount Up"Sunday Bags….#Woke
Agree with both that Sunday bags are ridiculous. Owned one one time and I think it lasted may 5 rounds before it started falling apart. And the sucker was not much cheaper than a regular bag.
Depends on the course. For instance my course has very long gaps between green and the next tee box. Two guys in a cart, playing even borderline smart, would be faster.
Very true. Was just using my home course as a reference. It is a pretty easy course to walk with only 3 fairly lengthy walks from a green to the next tee box.
Agree on pace takes. There is nothing slower at my course than 2 guys in a power cart. Lately with single-rider carts they have been exponentially faster.
Sunday bags are something I dont understand either. I hate when guys roll up with 6 clubs and then post scores to their cap. Plus they look like they are trying sooo hard to be trendy.
If sunday bags, are "woke". I am out. I want nothing to do with being "woke"….
Also, I think the idea of less than 14 clubs on anything more than a executive course is dumb and makes no sense..
….broke the news to him that today’s episode wouldn’t be his favorite hahaha
Could make the same argument for Tiger, despite his obscene numbers haha
One thing about these guys (and probably speaking for myself as well)… Refinement only goes so far. We are who we are.
Totally true. I think I have more gotten worn out from hearing that Daly is the everyman.. I guess so, if everyone is a morbidly obese, chain smoking, 3 gallons a day diet coke drinking, self destructive, whinny pants.. haha.
He did have an amazing talent level though. That is for sure..
Holey Moley segment.
People are definitely obsessed w/fantasy golf. I’ve done polls and about 25% care about it (Twitter). But they REALLY care.
Holey is by far Rob Riggle’s best work. This is not saying much, though.
I think playing with a reduced set when carrying is fine if it’s not competitive if you’re doing it because of weight or other reasons…. I almost bit on the $500- $1000 single strap / non stand esoteric waxed canvas / leather bag for reasons unknown to me and so thankful I’m putting that urge behind me. It’s a golf bag for heavens sake! I just need to keep telling myself that (and stop following a lot of Instagram posters….)
the prices on some of those bags astounds me.
Well, there cheap when you consider a ball mark is $75 these days. It is the huge drive to stand out and be an individual.
Whoa that was uncalled for! Is this some sort of Rob on Rob rivalry?
Is it an accurate representation of your abilities when you leave clubs at home that could/would be useful when playing? Having fewer options to pull.
You’d expect to not play up to you potential. I think my surgeon analogy holds water.
You’ll wish you stuck w/a push cart once it happens.
Lofty goals since The Hangover. The hype is real.
It’s effectively racing to get to a red light.
Unless you’re first out or it’s a dead course that day. I have no issue with walking, I actually love it. I’m a little sour my area doesn’t have more walkable courses, nor do they really mention anything about a walking rate.
Yeah, this discussion is definitely region specific. There are some courses (even around here) I wouldn’t think for a second to walk, even though I love to walk.
Not with proper policing…
I’m thinking the red light is your slower playing partners (walkers, Sunday baggers ), but I get what you’re saying.
On Pace of play I completely agree that singles in power carts area the fastest. When you guys talk about better players typically being quicker that’s 50/50 to me. I play with a couple of + handicaps that can drag us down with their pre shot routines and time spent reading greens, etc. I suppose they make up for it though by taking less shots but they can certainly hold up the group and others behind us.
If its your slowing playing partners, that would mean walking wouldn’t increase that pace, unless of course they are riding while you are walking.
And at least you would have the shade : )
I don’t think we ever see the extended dominance that Tiger showed because of Tiger. He has the mentality that you need to constantly improve and as a result now we’ve got guys who ascend to #1 and are still working to get stronger and make swing changes. That’s why I think we see another Daly before Tiger.
Imagine what you could do with 14.
Yeah, @HipCheck took me by surprise on that one.
There’s nothing worse than the guy you know is capable of solid golf but is flat out not an option to play with because every shot is like his last chance to make the tour.
YES!
The Sunday Bag is the Murse of golf bags.
Ouch!!!! So true.
C’mon man. You know that doesn’t make sense.
Wait, what doesn’t make sense?
Golfing with 5 clubs, or thinking you couldn’t play better with all 14?
makes sense, one guy played with a putter only……………………………….
I wonder if the higher the handicap, the less clubs you actually need. Or better yet, can actually use.
This. Just because I shoot X with 5 clubs, does not mean I could shoot X-1 or lower with 6 clubs. Maybe I’ve come to hit those 5 reliably enough and introducing more decisions into the process would just muddy the waters.
You just described one length… which means you can play all 14 again.
Not necessarily. I’ve tried one length. It’s not as simple as just "here’s 7 clubs, they’re all the same length, have fun". Great concept, if it works for the individual.
