This week one of the WGC events takes place and one player will definitely be on the center stage. The Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone is always a tremendous tournament and despite no Tiger Woods or current world #1 Rory McIlroy, the fireworks will still be there.
Less than two years ago, Jordan Spieth picked up his first win on the PGA Tour at the John Deere Classic with a shot from the bunker on the 18th hole to force a playoff. Since that time the young superstar has won two majors and been in top form for much of the entire 2015 campaign.
This week Spieth can take over the #1 spot in the world golf rankings and head into the final major of the year as the best player in golf. The irony in the story is that Rory McIlroy has been the number one ranked player since this exact event in 2014.
