For the sake of discussion, let’s assume you haven’t tried it yet.
Maybe you are currently using one ball or been using one brand for years. Maybe you had a ball fitting recently and stuck with it. Perhaps its a logo, pattern or colors you like.
What is out there that has you curious and you want to give it a try in 2025?
I’ve used different models of Bridgestone, Srixon and Callaway for the most part in all my rounds. I’ve occasionally played TaylorMade or Titleist balls, but I’ve never gamed a Mizuno ball. So I think that is what I’d like to try.
I would say I’d like to try the z star/diamond.

And the new yellow one 😉
I’ve really never given Volvik a chance. I’d like to change that in 2025.

Going to be a bit firmer, but not a ton. Spins more around the greens but not a ton off the tee like perhaps an X ball. Definitely a little longer. The thing I noticed about it, is the downrange dispersion. Yes I can work it with an iron, but I’ve thought I hooked it off the planet and it went like 5 yards into the rough. Crazy. Give it a try!

The bold is what I’m looking for on top of the Chromesoft. I love the CS, but just wish for a bit more around the greens, especially during the summer months. I’ll be giving it a try come 2025.
I will have to try the new Pro V offerings.
srixon will have new pill at the beginning of the year..
I’m going to go a little different here.
Based on some recent success with 3pc Ionomer Golf Balls, I’d like to try am e19, ERC or RB MAX replacement.
Give up a little greenside spin for some Distance and “Straightness”

I’m pretty happy with Chrome Soft/Chrome Tour, but I’d be interested to try the Volvik XT Soft. It would be pretty tempting if I could get comparable performance at half the price.

If only you were able to make the trip out last weekend you would’ve already tried the Volvik XT Soft lol. I know a few of us that were gaming it at Sewailo :ROFLMAO:
I’ve tried pretty much everything I had a desire to. I got in on the Volvik deal, so those I guess.
My swing is so inconsistent I have a hard time seeing differences as long as it’s a good ball, honestly.
There is nothing that interests me that I havent tried. If there a new urethane releases that aren’t super low compression, I will most likely try them.
I would like to give the Callaway Chrome Tour a sustained run. I found one this summer and played it for a round and really liked the feel despite having a rather large scuff on it when I found it. I find a lot of balls at my home course but for some reason I would find 50 Titleist Prov1’s to every premium Callaway ball I find. Callaway premium balls are not very popular for some reason in my area.
The newest Callaway Super Soft and Wilson Staff Model.
I’ve tried just about everyting that I’m interested in out there at least one round in the past year or so.
If the Super Soft would stop on the green better than prior generations, this old guy would play it. It’s long…..
whatever they tell me I should be playing in about 9 days!
I played a lot of Z Star XV before I switched to Chrome Tour. I’d like to test the new models against the current gamer.
Taylormade Tour Response. These are the replacement for the project ‘a’ I used to use, but decided on Srixon.
Won a dozen Left – ProV1X excited to try
But the new ProV1s sound intriguing too
Chrome Tour X
I have read good things about the Volvik XT Soft on the forum and want to try it. I just don’t want to buy a dozen when I like the Chrome Tour and Chrome Soft so much.
The new ProV1 & ChromeSoft these two were the best balls for me last year
The new Mizuno ball is at the top of my list when it comes out. I also want to try the Chrome Tour and the new version of the Chrome Soft. I’m also tempted to give the Mizuno RB Max a try.
ZStar Diamond.
Man, a lot of people saying the Chrome Tour line should get on it 🙂
As for me, the ZStar in divide, simply for the pattern. Always thought that was cool!
While it would be fun to try though, getting me to switch from the CT line would be close to impossible lol
Left dot ProV1. Would love to try it if they ever bring it out with normal availability.

It’s a great ball. Better than the Project (a)
I have played the Srixon Q-Star Tour and I liked them but I never purchased them. That is definitely one I am going to purchase when my current supply (chrome soft and avx) runs out.
In 2025 I’m going to be looking for a new ball. Current contender I haven’t played with.
Bridgestone tour B X (purchased a dozen haven’t hit yet)
TaylorMade tp5/x 2024 models (currently playing the previous generation tp5x)
Callaway chrome tour
Taylormade Speedsoft. I found one with the flakes all over it and enjoyed the feel and results.
I think definitely Srixon. I’ve found a few lost on the course and they felt great and flew like rockets. Will check out their website to see what ball might fit my game best.
Sounds silly. But found a srixon SoftFeel in a practice bay. And was intrigued how high they launched with my wedges. My balls I currently use dont launch as high. So interested in hiving those a try. Yellow is the preferred color.
AVX is the one I want to try. Seems like it might fit just need to get over the sticker shock!
For sure the new “short flight crap ball”. I will likely just start playing the hickory tournaments if we don’t play the exact same equipment as the pros. It’s one of the few things that makes golf special. Take that away… it’s basically park level tennis. back.
Z star diamond for normal irons.
Left dash for i230 to see if I can make those irons useable with spin numbers. I spin back 5 irons with those but love love love everything else about them.
I know my front runner but I played a dozen of them. I’ll probably put up the Titleist AVX against the Mizuno proto. My recent lesson showed my spin numbers and while not incredibly high, it’s still up there. 7200-7600 with an 8i and over 10k on a partial wedge with the RCT. For the first time since I moved on from distance balls I’m looking for less spin.
