With the launch of the new Steelhead XR Pro irons, the question was being asked about the differences between the two sets. THP TV sat down with Nate Adelman at Callaway Golf HQ in Carlsbad to have him go over the technology in both irons and then explain the differences between the two in this THP Quick Tech episode.
Which do you like better? Are you the Pro model user or the standard and which finish do you prefer? Each of these sets is available at Budget Golf with the exclusive THP Coupon on the right hand side of the website for an extra 15% off to THPers.
The Pro model appeals to me more in terms of the appearance, performance, and finish. I absolutely love the black finish of the Pro.
If I had to choose one, it would be the pro model. It just looks stealthy and the finish looks awesome.
The pro model is the one I’ve historically gone for in the “X” line, but the “standard” Steelhead is a really nice looking club as well. To me it doesn’t seem as “bulky” as the XR did.
That cut out of the Steelhead was really cool, love being able to actually see the tech inside the club. Nate always does a great job of explaining the tech. I could talk golf gear with the dude for days, such a good guy!
I prefer the pro model in these. I am interested to see how the finish holds up.
I like the black finish of the Pro iron. Look a lot like my old set of X18 pro irons from way back.
That was really good. Thanks THP tv and that guy from the Fitting Room. I’m leaning towards the regulars, but the dark finish of the pros is money.
Well done. I really like the direction this line is going. So much sleeker than the XR, XR16, and especially the OS. Love the Pro finish. I was afraid the Pro was way too much club for me initially until Nate flipped the heads over and I saw he had a 3 iron head.
Both of those look great. I like the looks of the pro a little more, especially the dark finish. It’s really cool to see the cutaway and hear exactly what the differences are between the two sets. Nate’s a perfect choice to explain it as well, dude knows his stuff.
Just a note for those tempted by the Budget Golf offer mentioned above. Alas, the discount doesn’t apply to new Callaway clubs.
The discount definitely is. It was used by multiple THPers on them.
It said no when I tried online. Did they phone or use the website?
