Zero Torque has emerged as one of the biggest trends in the putting space. Has its popularity reached its peak, or is there still room for growth? Only time will tell. Wilson is betting the zero torque market still has room for more options, which is why the company is introducing two zero torque models to its Infinite putter lineup.
What are Zero Torque Putters?
For those unfamiliar with the concept of a ZT putter, it’s important to understand that these designs are not simply center-shafted models. Achieving true zero torque requires specific engineering considerations. To create the effect, the center of gravity must be positioned so that the axis of the shaft passes directly through it.

This configuration eliminates torque through the hands during the stroke and is designed to minimize face rotation, keeping the putter face square to the target line for a longer period. With a square face, golfers can expect to start the ball on line more consistently, leading to improved stability and performance.
“The new Zero Torque range represents a huge step in our popular Infinite putter lineup, giving golfers confidence and performance on every putt. The two putters offer a breakthrough in stability and precision engineering. By integrating zero torque technology with advanced MIM construction and a double-milled face, we’ve created mallet designs that not only look great at address but also deliver a remarkably consistent roll.”
— Scott James, CAD Engineer at Wilson Golf
Wilson Infinite Zero Torque Putter Features
During discussions about zero torque putters, the topic of shaft lean often comes up. Some brands have introduced models with up to 3° of shaft lean, which typically requires specialized grips and a different setup at address. However, the two new models released by Wilson feature a limited shaft lean of just 1°. Reduced shaft lean makes it easier to use a more traditional grip.

To further enhance the zero torque design, Wilson has also added a premium midsize grip to these putters, helping minimize face rotation throughout the stroke.
Both putter models utilize MIM, or Metal Injection Molding, a manufacturing process that allows for specialized shapes with precisely positioned mass—critical for achieving optimal performance. They feature a two-tone PVD finish that delivers a clean, anti-glare appearance, ideal for bright conditions.
For the face, Wilson continues to use its double-milled pattern, which enhances the premium aesthetic while providing a more consistent feel across the hitting surface.

Wilson Infinite Zero Torque Putter Models
The 606

Golfers who prefer a non-traditional shape will appreciate what the 606 offers with its winged mallet design.
Behind the ball, two alignment lines and a single dot help golfers line up their putts more effectively.
Despite appearances in photos, the 606 is more compact than expected, making it a compelling alternative to the larger zero torque models offered by other companies. Wilson states that this model is ideal for golfers who prefer a bit more structure in their setup.
Lakeview

Wilson designed the Lakeview with a half-moon mallet shape that shares a subtle resemblance to the Infinite Bean and South Side putters.
Compared to the 606, the Lakeview features a more understated alignment system, incorporating just a single alignment line for simplicity.
With its classic shape and minimal alignment aid, the Lakeview sets up well for golfers who are confident on the greens.
Pricing and Availability
Wilson’s new Zero Torque Infinite putters are now officially available for order. Both the 606 and Lakeview are offered in 34- and 35-inch lengths and are priced at $199.99. While this places them slightly above other models in the Infinite lineup, they remain significantly less expensive than many competing zero torque putters currently on the market.

The Finish on these new putters looked very nice. I have an Infinite Gap Wedge. It lookss like that. Better quality versus first gen.

Hopefully better than second too.
I’m rooting for them, but the little things are big things.
I like that companies are figuring out reduced shaft lean..

Kind of? This one is still WAY back, which means at 1*, the onset could be significant.
Price has been keeping me from pulling the trigger on a zero torque. That obstacle has now been removed!

Sure. I get that. But it is a budget putter and it is an option. I think these will continue to evolve.

It is an option, but not all options are always well thought out options. If I knew Wilson would deliver on the story, and the why’s, I’d get behind it more. But outside the unique shapes it still feels like doing it just to do it.

Sure. I guess I dont really care about a story. We get told stories all the time. I care if it performs our not. For basically half the price of any other ZT out there. The curious will roll it. It will work for some and not other..
When I see one. I will roll it and see what I think..

I like your thoughts. Over my half century of playing no putter has made me better. A good putter helps but its still about doing the work to get better.

Stories matter. You’re the exception to the rule there, “here, here’s a putter” works no better than them going “here, here are clubs” like we have been discussion for years st this point.
Next stop is Slazenger with a zero torque for $19.95

I know it’s a swing at sarcasm, but, that’s probably not happening.

Then why buy more putters at all?
Stories matter for marketing. I am not that concerned about marketing.. marketing does not improve my scores. Clubs. do
But I totally get your point and from your perspective as a industry peep. I totally get why stories matter to you.
I love this! Zero torque for everyone!!!! I’m not kidding, I love it.

Stories matter to consumers, or else we wouldn’t have them and all companies would just say “here”

The thing about stories is that they come in two key varieties, fact, and fiction.

I know you hate anything modern when it comes to golf equipment, but that’s not at all accurate.

well that’s fun.
Even wilson getting in on the zero torque?
Same reason as most people, I get tired of it. Get frustrated after some bad rounds. A lot of THPers buy a lot more products than I do. Seem like some change the bag every year. Different strokes. I guess if I find something that works I stay with it. The wife seems to like that plan.
Mine is ordered from Global Golf today.
I have been wanting to to try a center shafted zero torque putter.
I ordered the 606 which is similar to my Stingray. I my eyes like that shape.
I’m excited to get on real greens but March in central NY never cooperates.
I found a 606 in the store today and hit it. I was….positively impressed. The Infinite line for them is one I just don’t like. It often feels cheap and sort of odd. So maybe this is buoyed somewhat by super low expectations.
But alignment was good. Feel was good. Sound wasn’t so awful. Grip is meh but their infinite line is usually just a pool noodle anyway.
But for 200, this felt like good value that isn’t just cheap and shortcutty
I am surprised how small these putters are. I play a L.A.B DF3 which is massive, but even the Spider ZT dwarfs these putters.

How’s the feel once the putter face makes contact with the golf ball?
I rolled the 606 at PGASS and it wasn’t bad. Price point is hard to beat.

I wasn’t blown away. Feel wasn’t great. The biggest issue for me was weight. These putter felt extremely light.

Thanks.
Gave these a roll last night at the PGASS. I agree with @Thrillbilly Jim that they felt a bit light, but otherwise impressed.
Definitely preferred the visual of the 606 over the Lakeview, but great to have another ZT option.
I like the look, feel, and sound of my 606; BUT it does not sit square when placed on the ground. I will use it indoors as my practice putter.
