Kraft-Nabisco Championship [spoilers]

Hooray! It looks like ESPN2 is going to show the last group finish even though the "allotted time" is up.

With your love of schadenfreude, you should just follow me around on my daily life. You'd die from laughter.

Not a lot of following needed--you're right here.

Spoiler
Alternatively, how do you know I'm not? Those hidden camera things have gotten pretty sophisticated, you know.

She's who I'm rooting for. Would love to see her competitive again.

Me too Harry. Could not be a nicer girl. Have had many a putting contests on the putting contests with her at the range....I always lose.

She beat Juli Inkster to win the HSBC Match Play in 2006, didn't she? That was pretty amazing; I followed them for that (well, I bounced back and forth between them and Lorena Ochoa beating Paula Creamer in the consolation pairing).

Me again -
We arrived at 9am again today, then watched some practice. Just the slightest breeze - and yes, there was plenty of chat about the windy Friday conditions. At 9:30 or so, I decided to spend time watching groups complete the 9th, then I'd walk to #1 just to applaud players as they were introduced, and to see their initial drives. At one point at #9 I saw that JRo and Michelle were at +8 and +13 respectively - ouch. There was still loads of time before Creamer and Stanford teed off, so I just relaxed, talked with folks and counted the Hall of Famers! - There were more off the course than on it. I saw Kathy Whitworth (first time), Amy Alcott, Beth Daniel, Judy Rankin, plus someone else who I can't remember- then some retired players - Jane Blalock, Jane Crafter. Very fun.

As Noon approached, crowds gathered for the Creamer/Stanford twosome. I'd estimate maybe 250, although a big crowd, most holes allow the fans to walk on either side of the fairway, so it was always rather easy to see the play. Now we were off. Front 9: Angela couldn't make magic happen or, she did once, but it was in a sense, too little too late. On the 5th hole, her drive went into the water, she proceeded to the drop zone and knocked that shot into the hole. But generally she seemed to lack confidence, confused on club choices, so that shots to the green frequently landed on the back fringe creating challenging "opportunities". Angela frequently outdrove Paula, but not by big yardages. Paula seemed to lack concentration and three-putted on 3 holes. As they finished 9, I grabbed my lunch and sat and talked with the LPGA teaching pro who would be conducting the children's clinic at 3pm. Fun, too. I caught up with Angela and Paula at 15 and while neither played poorly, neither could make any progress up the leaderboard. Frustrating for both I'm sure.

A fashion for ya: Sakura Yokamine wore a skort and knee socks. Dunno if that made TV.

I'll be watching Webb, Hurst and Stanford on Sunday. I want to see these women make some money!!!

Rice: any thought on the high numbers today? Were people still off their game because of yesterday's wind, or was it the fast greens, or ... ? Seemed like lots of players shot high numbers today despite the improvement in air pressure.

Thats seems to be her problem most of the time. Apparently her shiny, new TM putter hasnt fixed her putting woes. I wonder how long it will be before she changes putters again? She changes putters like most people change their underwear.

As long as she doesn't change her underwear like most people change their putters. [ba-bum-bum]

I dunno, some people change putters pretty often. Im quite a putter ho myself. I think Ive had 8 or 10 different putters in the past year. Im probably done now though. I cant even imagine what Id go to that would replace my Bettinardi. Its got everything I want in a putter: its a Mizuno, its a blade and its heel-shafted.

Just our observations: Spouse followed Oh and Ochoa - He tells me Lorena's iron play improved from Friday, but putting was still not great. Ji Young Oh is not a long ball hitter, so that combined with approach shots that came up short didn't serve her well. Paula was clearly not herself, and not playing to her potential. I know that Angela left the course on Friday upset re: the windy conditions. Maybe that carried over? I don't know. I'm dissappointed that I didn't get to see more of her good play, but I still intend to follow her for round 4. Given what Kristy McPherson was able to do, I wish I had followed her, but hopefully I'll have future opportunities.

So I watched Saturdays round on DVR this AM, just catching up on the converstions:

Did you just see Cristie Kerr's ricochet?

That was crazy and one of the coolest things I have seen a golf ball do to HELP a player. Kind of fate that she missed the birdie putt though.

Man, Brittany Lincicome fires her hips HARD.

This is why she is always one of the longest drivers on tour!

Hooray! It looks like ESPN2 is going to show the last group finish even though the "allotted time" is up.

Of course assuming ESPN would never do this I didn't set my DVR. I will not make the same mistake today, I have an extra hour recorded for todays round.

Andy North was talking about how after a day like Friday where you are battling the wind it can really through your golf swing off. They had to adjust a lot yesterday and then didn't get any feel for their putting, so I think that affected a lot of the scores in Saturday's round.

Paula seemed to lack concentration and three-putted on 3 holes.

Paula hasn't been able to eat, no less play in the last few weeks. They were saying that she is still actually sick and will head back to Orlando after this tournament to see some more specialists. Hopefully this doesn't affect her entire year.

I would love to see Christina Kim win today, she is just so much fun to watch play, however, 5 shots is probably too much to make up. McPherson looks good and Kerr has done this before, so it should be a great final round. It is good to see Brittany Lincicome back in the mix.

Just finished the DVR of yesterday's round. One comment for me: I dig Jimin Kang's shoes with the pink stripes. Very cool. Not sure what they were, but I AM sure GG22 would love them!

OK two comments: I'm also pleased to see McPherson doing so well.

Edit: Oh, a third -- what do we think of th eVtech commercial? I kinda liked it.

Nice approach shot by Lincicome followed by a great chip in by McPherson.

Its going to be a grea day. I saw Suzanne is making a charge. Might be too late, but she looks great today.

I know. 5-under for the day through 12. She's now -4 for the tournament. Probably too little, too late . . . but who knows. A 5-shot swing isn't unheard of.

Christina Kim today...I love her outfit. Great skirt. Funny, her ducking from a bug or something that we obviously did not see on the TV.

I think she has a fear of bugs. In her My World episode, she completely freaked out when she was driving and there was a dragonfly in the car.

EDIT: I didn't notice earlier, but Alexis Thompson is using a stand bag instead of a staff bag.

Brittany Lincicome's Kate Lord gear today looks great.

I noticed that as well (logo on the sleeve). I'm not sure the black skort matches the best though. Especially with here white and blue shoes matching her top and a white hat. A blue skort would have been perfect.

I will be the first to day that I do not want to see Christie Kerr win.

Did I just see Kerr drop a "F Bomb"?

Holy Crap...

HOLE IN ONE

Michelle Redman

Did I just see Kerr drop a "F Bomb"?

At least she isn't screaming them now.

(Don't get me wrong. I appreciate a women who can swear like a sailor when the occasion calls for it. But Kerr was doing it on TV far too often and far too loud.)

Lorena's eagle chip-in on 18. Hooray for Lorena!

Arrggh. Brittany Lincicome just cannot capitalize.
