NHL 2013-2014 Season

i still don't understand how the new alignment is fair? some divisions you have a 1/5 chance of making the playoffs and others you have a 1/6 chance of making the playoffs. its not fair to all the teams... unless i'm missing something.

I'm betting they fill them in the near future. That said, I was fully expecting Quebec or Toronto to get a team.. Which obviously their divisions are already full.

Its sad when people bash people when they leave. Like Clark$on, he went where he wanted to play, back to his hometown. He did it quickly enough that the devils could sign someone else. But he used to be a devil and that offended Dev.

What are you talking about? I have NEVER liked Clarkson. EVER. I trashed him just about every single game he played for NJ. He can barely skate. I have never seen a player fall down more times in the NHL than him. I have always thought he was extremely overrated. He had 1 good season and even then he scored 30 goals but only had 40+ points. He was absolutely awful for 4/5ths of last season. I didnt care where he went. I just wanted him out of NJ. Toronto completely overpaid for him but thats what happens in free agency these days.

I can confirm this. Ricky has been hilariously hateful to Clarkson.. Didn't he spend an entire year falling down?

Season? How about his whole career. Toronto is not going to be happy with him. Mark my words. He will never live up to the Wendell Clark status they have already given him.

toronto needs 2 teams cause the first team sucks so bad?

Theres a wild card.

Its just for a year or two, Seattle and QC get a team. Then another shuffle will carry detroit into chicago's division.

that New York has three teams and Toronto only has one is kind of hilarious. They could sell out three barns easy I bet... And at least this gives the regular fan a chance to get into the arena rather than it being predominately suits.

i still think to many teams make the playoffs which makes it even more embarrassing when the flyers don't hahaha, but i like they are gonna add 2 more teams and even it out.

The status the media gives someone and the status the fans gives someone is completely different. I've never talked to a single Leafs fan who expects him to be like Clark.

Dude, the Flyers are 2.5 mil over the cap and no way of relieving it. Two backup goalies. A horrible defence core.

pronger is going on LTIR cap will be fine first day of the season. and i bet we still have a better record than toronto.

Media sets the tone for fans. It will happen. He will probably start off well next season like he did this season and the do nothing 20-30 games in.

I boldly predict that this won't happen. Holland gets what he wants, and will flat out throw a tantrum in this case.

Media sets the tone for casual fans, if you're a real fan, especially of the Leafs, you realize their media coverage is a complete joke.

I don't see that happening either.. Both teams have fought extremely hard to get into the east to avoid later games and additional travel.

to move on account of an expansion team? Not a chance.

Also, why would Buffalo fall to D? They are inches from Toronto.

I agree man but we cant put another team in the east without bumping someone. Its just what happens when a team gets added to the Northeast.

I hate the new realignment. The fact that its uneven annoys me.

Imagine they did 8 divisions of 4 teams? But realigned for straightup most points before the playoffs? Talk about clusters of Rivalries!

Another option for adding a team would be Seattle (Obviously) and Milwaukee. They could definitely support an NHL team, and itd line up well with Division B too!

Then from there, it'd be a nice 4 team upgrade across 4 divisions being

A: Vegas
B: KC/Houston/Saskatoon
C: Quebec City
D: Buffalo moves to D and they add a team in God knows where.

Thats a good 10 years out though.

So would I. The tickets would sell, the team would definitely be supported by the casinos, and tickets would be comped for gamblers. It would succeed no doubt.
I would love to see vegas get a team. I think it'd be great for the NHL.

Phoenix Part II, this time with looming gambling allegations!

If that's the case, Halifax deserves a team as well.

I doubt that... While the local interest may be limited (which will suck in terms of being the home team), the pass through of people each night in Vegas has to be massive. It'll sell just the same way any type of entertainment does in that city, and generate hockey fans in the long run.
