Favorite Course You Played in 2010

Paiute the snow course in Las Vegas. A beautiful, reasonably priced desert course, Pete Dye design and the best club house I've been to.

one of my favorites out here. Paiute and Badlands are my two suggestions for people coming out to Vegas.
Since you nominated Paiute, I'll go a head and Badlands. It really fits it's name. There are a few holes you'll scratch your head and wonder how in the world did they think this would be a good place to put a golf hole?

The International - Oaks course. VERY BEAUTIFUL AND VERY DIFFICULT. Would love to play it again but I'd have to sell my house.

two local country clubs here i played were the Lakes, and Pinnacle. I would have to say I loved Pinnacle - it was secluded - not a ton of houses; big long fairways - and some really challenging holes

University Ridge in Madison. beautiful place, Really fun course to play, played it twice for half price at the end of the season with out mild and long fall in 2010. It was nice to play a "real golf course" compared to the local muni's i normally frequent. I hope to go back again this summer

earlier in the season a friend of a friend got us passes to play at this place called "The Oaks in hayfield", it's near rodchester minn, there had recently been a flood so a few of the holes on the back nine were in bad shape, but for the most part it was a very enjoyable course to play. It had, i felt, a number of subtly memorable holes

While down in arizona for a vacation I played Poston Butte located just outside of Florence, AZ. Much to my surprise I found out this course is owned and run by the Troon companie (mostly known for Troon North). Its a desert course that is very fun and challenging. Add the really nice course conditions and price this is a real gem. Can't wait to visit this course next year!

Well i didn't get to take a golf trip in 2010, so there was nothing REALLY exciting on my list of places i played. Not like years ago when i hit up Scotland for a 10 day golf trip, or playing Pebble, etc. One that stood out for me in 2010 though was Bali Hai in Las Vegas, NV. Went out there for a few days since i got a free room from the Venetian Resort and had time for one round so i went to Bali Hai. They will probably end up having to close this course down due to money issues, but god it was gorgeous. really was like playing in an oasis with the white rocks off some fairways, water hazards and palm trees. i definitely recommend it if you get a chance to play there. One tip...greens are not as fast as you might think they are.

Best in 2010-Probably Yocha De He course at Cache Creek Casino here in Northern Ca. Beautiful course. But early favorite for 2011 is Old McDonald at Bandon!

My favorite of 2010 was Stanford golf course. Long, beautiful and difficult but sure brings back memories. Plan to play there at least once a year.
Now for public courses, it was Cinnabar Hills, Mountain and Canyon course. Very well kept for a public course and lots of slope changes to make it plenty interesting.
For 2011, I plan to play Poppy Hills.

1. Great White at Doral
2. ChampionsGate - International
3. ChampionsGate - National
4. Blue Monster at Doral
5. Grand Cypress - North/South
6. TPC Sawgrass - Dye's Valley (Hope to get back to play the Stadium)

Firestone CC - pics are of South Course, but the North was actually a better track IMO. South has the 'it factor' of being host to WGC and past majors though.

Also Avalon Lakes was a beautiful course.

Edit: pic fail, apologies

Kingsmill Resport and Spa the River course same as what they use to hold the LPGA Michelob Ultra Open

same thing every year..

same thing every year..

Ist reply to this site.
Frequent visitor to a few others, but I have been browsing this one some and I really like the tenor of the responders.

So, I have this collection of logo balls from most of the courses I've played and try to organize them by favorites. Its gets really, really diffficult every time I play a course that wants to breaks into my top 25 ( that is the rack system I started and now still use). But it is a severe tickle down if have to shuffle.
This year I got to play a few that want to find a home in the top rack.
Forest Dunes, in Roscommon
Arcadia Bluffs
Tobacco Road
and Cabo Real
I loved each of them, but can they bumpsome of the mainstays,
Oh the stress...

Im thinking of organizing by state instead, just so as not to have to do this to myself.

I believe it was called Lake Michigan Hills GC. It was very nice.

Bali Hai in Vegas, lots of fun and great people working there (except for the starter, he was kinda rude)

Champions Course @ PGA National. 2nd place would be Mountain Laurel in Scranton, PA because it was a round shared with some THPers

I would have to say the Bay Course at Kapalua on the island of Maui. Gorgeous course. Also I love playing Klipper on Kaneohe Marine Base.

Last summer when in Orlando, I was able to play the Disney Palms. Was able to play with a few more tourist from other parts of the country and had a wonderful time. Our golf wasn't all that great, but the fellowship was!:friends:

I don't travel much for golf so my experiences are more limited. I always enjoy playing Torrey Pines early in the morning here in San Diego. But I think my favorite for the year was Barona Creek. It is really nice to play a course that feels like it is out in wild, but really isn't that far away. This year I am trying something new and will travel to Colorado and play at The Broadmoor. Hope to have a new great memory.

Favorite Course by far this year was Oakmont CC, being a former major championship course i was extremely excited to play. I loved the classic layout and the atmosphere is hard to beat. I had so much fun on the course and ended up shooting an 82. I know it was high for a 2.8 handicap that i am but i was so very nervous the first few holes that i felt like a 6 year old going putt-putting for the first time, if i had under 36 putts for the day i could have easily shot 72 tops. Great Course and Great Service, very proud to say that i played a big boy course and held my own

I enjoyed Old Works in Anaconda, Montana in May because of perfect timing, (dumb luck) I drove in and got to follow the US Open qualifying tournament with a member. We played the tournament tees and had a very enjoyable day. One of the tougher courses I played this year was the Black Mesa course in Espanola, NM. It kicked my butt but was a fun course. Some of the other courses I enjoyed this year were Coeur D'alene resort, Palouse Ridge, Bulle Rock, Taconic, The Ledges in York Maine and lots of others. It is hard to pick a favorite, in almost every case I was playing with local people who were proud of their course and it was always enjoyable. Two courses I would like to go back to though; Black Mesa and Okemo Valley in Ludlow Vermont. Both were beautiful, and good tests of golf.

TPC Sawgrass and it's not even close!:D

Pacific Dunes. I live three hours away and play as much as I can on all of the courses at Bandon Dunes, especially in January when rounds are only $75 for resort guests. Hard to beat if you catch decent weather, and by decent I mean winds under 15mph and less than 1/4" of rain but I have also played in driving hail and still loved every moment.

Bandon Trails. The only course I had the pleasure of playing at bandon dunes. It was enough to make me want to go back very soon. Next time I'll fit in a round on all 4 courses.
