TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC Review Thread

I just know if I can handle a combo set. Even though I did like the Nike combo set out there. It was at the demo day too. That would be like having 3-4 CB, 5-8 MC, and 9-PW MB.

Now for you as a golfer, what benefit will you get out of that to help you?

If I were a Taylormade staffer for the Morgan Cup, the MC's would be in my bag. I'm all about carving up Reunion Resort! I could also benefit from the lower ball flight.

knowing that you hit a high ball and that you are a very good ball striker, I would think the MCs would be a good option for you. But I know you wouldn't want the distance loss from what you currently have with the 2.0's

These are forged, I can bend the lofts all day long! I'm serious. I'd love to have these. I'm tired of the high, straight ball! I'm ready to get serious.

It's about time, I was starting to question your seriousness

hahaha, In all seriousness, I do want to hit these bad boys. I think they look super sweet. I think that most of us should be weighing all the options when it comes to new irons, and distance/forgiveness vs. feel/flighting/workability should always be one of the most important things to deliberate over. I'm not coming down hard on anyone, just asking questions. It's my job as a forum member and one who reads these threads with interest.

I saw these last night and fell in love. High hopes thse will knock my AP2 710's out of the bag.

Unfortunately my local Golf Galaxy didn't have them in their fitting cart. Need to decide whether to stick with the S300's or try KBS Tours, PX's, etc.

I think these irons would fit your game beautifully because they certainly fit my game very well so far (seeing as how you are the one who taught me how to work my way around a course). I think you wold only see a club difference between the MC's and 2.0's. No more straosphere balls for you when combined with the correct for you shaft.

I let a friend hit these who has AP2's and now he wants a set of TM's forged offering (he wants the blades though).

I'm sure they are fantastic buddy, but I've got my eyes and heart fixed on the Razr Tours (for obvious reasons). I do look forward to trying them, and i hope that there's a sample at the outing.

They sure are pretty aren't they? Mine have the S300's in them and I like that combination. If you hit them with those different shafts in them make sure you come back here and let us know what you decide on(if you end up buying them)

Can't say that I blame you there. I was very impressed with those clubs as well, but you won't be as serious playing a cast club.

That is what the Nike set I thought would be. I guess the reason they do that is more forgiveness in the lower irons. I think if I am going to get a set of the TP irons. I want to have a match up between the CB and the MB. One thing the pro that has been helping me with my fittings said, "Go for as much cavity as you can"

Definitely buying them. I'll probably just go the old faithful route with the S300's, but the ho in me wants to look elsewhere for greener grass.

I'm a sweeper/picker and it appeared as the soles would fit me quite well. Any comments on turf interaction? Sorry long thread, tried to get through most of it.

I've only had them on the course twice, majority of my testing so far has been at the range and simulators(Team Paradise specialist). The 2 days I had them on the course I thought the turf interaction was fantastic. That seems be the trend with these TP lines. I never played the AP2's so I can't really compare that for you.

According to most, turf interaction is awesome! KBS is also offering an upgrade to their shafts if you purchase these irons. Food for thought.

I understand the more forgiveness in the lower irons. My question is what do you get out of the others that makes you want to with a mixed set?

KBS is offering this independent of TaylorMade or via TaylorMade?

The turf interaction is just sublime. It cuts right though and just feels beautiful. Hot knife through room temperature butter. Oh man, I am wanting to hit my set right now just talking about it.

Has anyone gone the KBS Tour or PX route in these? From skimming this thread it looks like the majority of people are in S300's or X100's.

now that is awesome!

Via... No upcharge through TM for KBS Tours in the new TP lines.

Wow! I have never played KBS but more options is for sure a plus!

I understand the more forgiveness in the lower irons. My question is what do you get out of the others that makes you want to with a mixed set?

Oh...

I just replying to the other guy about a mixed set. I don't think it would work for me. I like to have the same feeling in all of my irons. I think if I attempted a mix set it would mess me up. I think I am just going to go after the whole set of CB or MC. I really want the MC but think the CB is best for my game right now. I just think the MC give me something to work hard for.
