Had the same thing happen to me with a rental set of Taylormade Stealths on vacation recently. Was seriously tempted to make the switch when I got back home. In fact, I still might do it. 🏌️♂️
Nah, the guy with the staff bag is probably a PGA of America teaching/club professional. He/she can definitely play, but probably won’t beat you to death with their game. In fact, they’re probably more interested in helping you along the way.
Using this for reference, I’m strong left, weak right with the crease of my right palm on top of my left thumb. Very firm together, but not quite strangling the club. I side more with Padraig than Snead…the whole holding a baby bird thing is nonsense.
A single is pretty much going to wait behind a foursome every time. I’m always hyper aware of this any time I play, and if there’s an open road ahead I’ll waive them through.
But maybe if we all slowed down a bit and enjoyed the moment and the friends around us, instead of the pressing need to get it over with, maybe we might find our way back to the essence of golf. 🤷🏻♂️
I somehow don’t think the originators of this game were worried much about the clock as they...
Sounds like they were nice kids having fun. And you enjoyed yourself as well. I’d say golf as an institution could use more of that. Regardless of the impatient, angry “old ladies”, I’m not sure that was such a bad day on the course.
I’m in between right now. On the one hand I feel like things are settling into a good place game-wise; on the other, I’m feeling physically beat up enough that a week or two away from the game might not be such a bad idea.
In that same vein, I played a set of Taylormade Stealth rentals in Mayakoba a few months back that were not at all like my regular set, and I found them to be eminently playable. So much so that I considered for a moment moving away from my Mizunos…then I got home and hit my Mizunos again. 😎
I’m not completely disagreeing, just throwing out some food for thought.
OTOH, as far as bending for lie angle goes, (my) post #20 in this thread describes my position there.
Right, but at the risk of sounding like a troll, which miss? Inconsistent, as implied, means inconsistent all over the place—left/right, push/pull, hook/slice, fat/thin, heel/toe.
Yes, if you’ve eliminated the two-way miss, you may be able to dial things in a little better after that, but...
