Time to get that refresher going!! You guys happy with the draft?

I can't believe all the names that have found new homes.. Neal, Hornqvist, Gagner, Briere, etc etc... Would love to see Columbus make a big splash, but I wonder if that awesome deal to get Umby out and the curly haired wonder in will be the climax of their summer activity..

Apparently the Sabres had a good draft. That is about all I can contribute.

I have to admit that I did not do too many researches on the prospects this year, and every GM says the same thing every year: we are happy with our draft, we were surprised to see that this guy was still available, blablabla

that said, I have faith in Trevor Thimmins in Montreal, and I am happy to see Briere leave for Parenteau, even if I heard he liked to party a bit

I don't know anything about the draft, minus Columbus picking some dude named Sonny who is a US born player. That always concerns me because they are typically a slower growth (Canadians go to JRs and get drafted, US born go through the dev program and then to college). We'll see.

Lefty, what do you think about Gorges speaking out against the potential trade? I can dig that.

I mean, I can get not wanting to toronto... even Ohio sounds better ;)

that said, I doubt he will stay in Montreal, I'd think this kind of deal is enough for hime to ask for a trade, but he can still chose where

The lightning have been very active so far, resigning Callahan and releasing or trading big pieces like Purcell and Nate Thompson. I think we will see the make some splashes in free agency.

I thought the Wild should have went goalie a little earlier. Vanek made a visit to the Wild yesterday and I hope they get something done.

I thought the Hawks made some pretty bold moves. And now they're rumored to be talking to Brodeur to mentor Crawford? Like Crawford isn't already pretty damn good.

I think Toronto is thinking the same thing with Bernier. He would be a great fit for the Hawks.

Really liked the Kessler trade for the Ducks, since we didn't have to give up the 10th pick (which we got Ritchie for, nice power forward there) or any of our young prospects either.

Also liked the Neal trade to Nashville too, too bad Spezza turned them down Neal and Spezza would have been interesting additions to the Nashville team.

That team is full on stacking talent. I can see Vanek doing very well on a roster where he's buried on the second line.

Good luck with Mr Sourpuss. He isnt a good mentor. He wants to play and will pout when he doesnt. He got ouplayed by a wide margin by Schneider last year and all he did was complain. I hate seeing all time greats not knowing when to hang it up.

I have met him like 4 or 5 times and he has never been anything but a jerk. At season ticket holder events he acts like he couldnt possibly care less about being there.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with the Kesler trade. Bonino was one of those types that just has a nose for the net, not overly gifted, just gets it done and was a great shootout specialist. I like that they were able to move Sbisa with it, they have too many D-men.

The #10 pick looks like it could be very good. Anytime you draft a guy that compares to Lucic, you cross your fingers and pray it works out that way.

I've heard rumors they are working hard to get a top pair D-man. With Ehroff out there and a few other options, the next few days are going to have some zingers!

Might actually get Souray back this year, last year was a wash but the year before he was pretty solid, pretty exciting time to be a Ducks fan. Very interested to see who we add in free agency.

I dont think you guys really want siuray..

Going to be interesting to see what the Preds look like this year. New offensive-minded coach, Neal coming in, etc. Can Laviolette really turn our promising, but as yet, underproducing forwards into solid top-liners? Will his more offensive-minded system have a negative impact on the defense?

Don't really know what the heck to expect.

goalies are a very strange breed. Which I suppose makes sense considering what they do for a living.

Yeah, you can't volunteer for that kind of abuse and be right in the head.

No clue who the Caps picked in the draft I am going to have to do a little reading up on it later. They fired the GM and HC so I really have no idea what to expect. I know that Trotz was a good coach in Nashville so I am interested to see what he will do with the roster here in DC. Only time will tell lets just hope they dont choke again......... UGH
