Air would be your best bet for preservation.

Air works good, but is a little tricky sometimes. Manually working it is possible but only with the right tools.

Those Winn grips have a tendency to blow the top off and blow out the white strip where the logo is. You might be better off using a grip removal tool and solvent, lots of it. If you do use air, use low pressure, take your time.

never used that big of a knife, always found a utility knife with a hook blade to be more than enough, but as long as it's sharp it will work.

Maybe but I also just learned how to walk vertical and I'm the first in my family to do so. It was a very proud moment. hahahaha.
