The Official Tiger Woods Thread

I will also bet you that Paddy never has a porn movie made in his honor.

Stop it, Smalls. I'm pitching one to the studios as we speak.

You must've missed his Sunday at PGA National this year?

Haha oh no I saw it, great round in fact. Just not at a major.

All I know is the Unplayable book is awesome. I wish I would've ordered it at the start and not Haney's book. The opening chapter that has the Mickelson/Tiger stuff in it was freakin fantastic.

I love this thread. I've never been that interested pornography, but this new sexy movie about Tiger's exploits should be hilarious. I applaud these women for doing what they do best, and in the process almost perform a public service by inseminating information to the masses. Bravo, ladies.

Hah! I see what you did there.

The name of the movie isn't nearly as recognizable as it would've been if they'd have named it "Tiger's Wood"... Hmmm...too much?

Siri does my posting for me using Tapatalk.

For the Tiger homers like me, great interview on NBC sports.

I will just say this and leave the new movie topic alone: Of the thousands of porn starts out there, he picks a couple of the homeliest (read: fugliest) in the business.

You know, I said way back in the beginning when it all started to come out about all the women...that with all his fame and money you would have thought he would have been able to get hotter women!

Maybe he was attracted to their personality? :act-up:

Compared to press conferences, it's ground breaking!

That was a cool two videos, thanks for sharing that.

Maybe they should just go ahead and give Tiger the green jacket then. Slurp away boys, slurp away.

It's going to suck so hard for the Tigger Cult when a has been fat arse Englishman takes his jacket, and his spotlight.

So I am up early and reading through the forum and I made an observation. I have been here since day one and granted things have changed I am not on here nearly as much as I was. But, I remember when everyone wanted to see tiger break all the records, win all the events... Then it all came crashing down.

Let me start by saying I watched golf way before tiger, and when he came along it was a shot in the arm to what many would have considered a "stuffy" sport. Tiger's impact on the game was huge and a lot of people are making out quite well because of it.

Getting to the point here. Lately I have seen a lot if comments like the above and it seems like if you even remotely want to see Tiger playing good golf again you are a fanboy or some other negative equivalent. I know a lot of people are tired of hearing about tiger, but there seems to be a bit of lack of respect in some of these conversations. It's easy for someone to come in and say they were joking or didn't mean any disrespect, but it is even easier just to be respectful.

I could care less about off the course stuff for any golfer, I judge golf by the players on the course when I watch. I know many don't feel the same way, but I think we all want to watch good golf. Back in the day I couldn't stand Greg Norman and wished for him to choke miserably whenever he was in contention. As much as I hated the guy, I wanted him there on Sunday because it seemed to raise the level of play as well as add to the entertainment value of the event.

I will continue to want to see tiger play well as well as a number of other top players in every event. The high level of play benefits everyone. If that makes me a fanboy, part of the Tigger cult, or whatever the case then so be it.

Conversely, I enjoy golf, the mechanics of the golf swing, but moreso, I love how artistic and visual and creative the game of golf can be. I've long been painted a "Tiger hater" when in fact I am not! Just because I was able to point out his flaws or his lack of creativity and feel in his golf game when he was struggling doesn't mean I hate the guy on the golf course. You and many others have painted me into a corner of a Tiger hater. Up until recently I was more of a subjective bystander but most of his fans can't handle someone being critical about him, or his game. That's when it turns personal. I never took it there. So for the record, I don't hate Tiger the golfer. In fact, I've said this more times than I can remember. But a lot of times I bring fact to the equation (like last night b/c Sean Foley has in fact been the coach responsible for 4 wins this year, not 3) and it pisses people off. I'm sure it's my delivery. Or is it? My observations are that Tiger fans are uber sensitive. I get my fair share of crap being a Lee Westwood fan, and if you don't think I do, well, you aren't around enough. But I never retaliate in anger. Never!

I too watched golf pre Tiger Woods. I loved what he brought to the game. He made golfers change their lifestyles. That's never been my side of the argument.

At any rate, I reckon Tiger is winning again so none of this garbage even matters anymore.

I enjoy playing devil's advocate in threads, and bantering. But it's difficult to do in this thread.

Anyhoo. Johnny Miller again last night, telling us if Hunter Mahan keeps playing like that, he's got the game to even 'challenge Tiger'. It's as if the guy hasn't watched golf for the last 3 years or so. Or does he think he doesn't have the game to challenge Luke, Rory and Lee?

Well, it's one win, lol. I am not convinced just yet.

I am not painting any picture of you specifically, but used that as an example. Maybe I don't know you well enough to know if you are joking, or know your thoughts on specific players. Just stating my observations as a casual reader. And let's be real here, when you come in to a thread like this and post "slurp away boys", how is that supposed to be perceived? Is that what you consider critiquing his game with "fact"?(no need to answer these questions btw).

At the end of the day, I guess I am not enough of fanboy to get bothered by it, but the back and forth in these threads at times is pretty pathetic. There is always a back button you can use.

True. I should choose my words more carefully. However, most of the slurp slurp stuff is just a joke. Same as how Jake comes in and mocks me hating on Tiger.

I think this thread was designed as a catch all for the issues stuff and that just seems to spill out in to other threads(like the Houston Open thread). I usually ignore this thread because it is for the most part, its the extreme of it(love/hate). I just like watching good golf from the top players, no matter who it is.

Like I said TC, not trying to single anyone out, you seem like a good guy and have been here for a while. Just making observations.

Tiger wins once and the entire sports world proclaims he's back. He's is not "back" until he wins this week.

This is going to be a fantastic week of golf. I'm glad Tiger's playing well for that reason alone. Throw in Lefty playing well along with Rors, Luke, Westwood and even Couples. Can't wait.
