It all started on Thursday at the kids school gala(fair), my son was playing laser tag in the bush bit at the school. Im waiting and he walks out and he was ok then he showed me his finger and they didn't look right, his ring finger on his right had was slightly sideways, I thought wow that's dislocated but he could still move it a bit and didn't feel in pain so then I thought it must be ok.
Well my wife had a look and thought its not good so took him to the hospital, about 3 hours later after seeing the Doc and having x-rays he has broken the bone just above the growth plate just above the first knuckle, so his hand is in a cast waiting to see the physio tomorrow. He has his school camp next week so that will be fun. Only good thing he is left handed and this is his right hand.
Then yesterday we were at a work fun day and my daughter jammed her finger in the car door and she was screaming, I know how it feels as I done it a couple of times. the tip of the finger has some dark black patches where the blood is. My wife rang the Doc today to ask what to do and they said to go for an x-ray, well off they go and after that she has fractured the tip of the bone on her ring finger on her left hand. Lucky she is right handed lol. Now just waiting to hear from the specialist.
So both kids have some break on the same finger but opposite hands, so 4-6 weeks of bone healing ahead of them. Thank god we get medical insurance through my work to pay back the money we have spent at the Doc/x-ray this week.
Hopefully things can only improve from here.
