I've been playing Pro V1's and it's awsome if I'm hitting well but a bit too much spin if I'm not. I tried the 330's but they felt very similar. I'm thinking of trying a more forgiving ball with a bit less spin. Not sure which though.

On a different note. I just got back from hitting balls at the range and I happen to get a bunch of new yellow range balls. I haven't hit a colored ball in years. I was suprised how nice they were to hit. You could really see them travel through the air. Does anyone here use a colored ball?

Or do you mean the guys that claim they hit 300...they wouldn't be exaggerating that claim, would they...? :lying:

Sweetie, there's an old tacky joke along those lines. About women being lousy at estimating distances because for centuries, we've all been told that this (hold your forefingers no more than six inches apart) is nine inches.

Not that uncommon. I played an event earlier this year where the range was near the 15th hole, and there were yellow range balls all over. I play in a league that ends with a yellow ball contest, and the league head was in my foursome. She was scooping up range balls as fast as she could. Pretty silly.

I've played too many pink balls in my life. This time of year, yellow balls would be almost impossible to find among the leaves. My daughter played a blue ball this afternoon. That was pretty easy to find. It also helps that she can't begin to drive 100 yards yet. :)

Nope don't use a colored ball.

... but I can say that I hit the 330s in my last round & when I hit it pure I could certainly tell the difference between that & the warbirds I was also hitting. The 330s felt amazing. I've no doubt the Pro V1 feels the same.

What's a yellow ball contest?

What's a yellow ball contest?

Every foursome in an outing gets one yellow (pink, whatever) ball. The ball rotates among the four players, and gets its own line in the scorecard. Whichever foursome's ball has the lowest gross score wins. If you lose the ball or it goes in the water, your foursome is disqualified. Fun without being too gimmicky.

We sometimes play a pink ball contest. Highest score on the hole has to play the pink ball. Sort of a reverse honors.

Ok. Fun!

I'd love to wage terror with you, but the short people in my house are getting cranky about being ignored. Perhaps worse, my 10 year old just found Men in Blank being broadcast.

But we should definitely have a plan for next time! Do you suppose we could figure out how to change the entire color scheme here or something?

"Men in Blank"?

Did you mean "Men in Black"

Be careful, or a I may start Googling the internet for images of what I think you look like and posting them here! :p

Oh Harry, no one wants to see what you're thinking about!

I just seen this and I think there might be a few that wouldn't mind seeing those pictures he comes up with. :fingers-crossed:

I've always heard it like: "Why are females bad at math? Because they've always been told this (hold fingers two inches apart) is six inches."

I need to read all of these threads, this was four days ago!

To bring this back around to the OT (since Julie got us sidetracked again) I usually play a Top Flite of some sort. What ever was on sale the last time I was in the store. I think the recent bunch I have been playing were Pure Distance. But I think all Top Flite are labeled this way. I did how ever play some War Birds the last round I played and really liked them so I think I'll probably buy a dozen or so of them and see how well I like them.

Warbirds like the Topflite Distance balls are 2 piece balls that will lower spin off the driver. If you have a tendency to play slices and hooks off the tee, this might be the best choice.

It wasn't from Harry, but I liked the photo that was supposed to be Julie and me in the Beamer!

I do play a slice off the tee with my driver/3 wood. The best drive that I can remember, I hit a warbird with my 3 wood. I "crushed" it. We were on a 333 yard par 4. My ball stopped just to the right of the 83 yard marker. The best part was I hit the damn thing straight. This was a hole after I put a ball on the patio of one of the condo's lining the previous holes fairway. :embarrassed:

I'll agree but I think we need pictures of both of you to see if the beamer picture was even close to the real thing. :beauty:

I use Precept Laddies. They're a soft ball (suitable for women) and aren't too expensive. I wish I did them justice!
