What did you shoot today?

86 at El Rio. The city had it closed all summer while they added cart paths and reworked the bunkers to facilitate drainage. Looks really good and the bunkers are nicely done.

Four of us played 9 holes this afternoon. Actually we played 11 holes, the front 9, then #10, and #18. The remarkable thing was our scores. We all shot 47 for the 11 holes, and we were all tied after the first 9 with 39. Tie breaker is next week......:D

Walked 9 while Pops rode. Shot 43 on the back 9 at River Oaks. Only one lost ball. Good deal for me! First 9 with the MX-200's and they made me look like a solid player. If I could only get my swing to be more consistent. Look out 80's here I come.70's....your next!

I played in a scramble today and our team shot 1 over. Good times though.

CG-pretty sweet for your first round with new sticks. Keep us all posted on how the 200's treat you in the future.

Congrats tc, nice round.

Thanks. The sad thing is that i know i left some shots out there. That's what keeps me coming back though.

Good luck to all who tee it up this weekend:act-up:

Well..........116 at Aldersley Green GC this morning in heavy rain. 50 for the 1st 9 holes, then it got messy with 61 for remaining. Got some work to do off the tee's but i'll get there soon hopefully. My goal is to break into the 90's, I been close a few times though.

Went to walk 9 today, but ended up only playing 6 holes. Skipped a few holes to get by a couple of groups of slow play. The rest of the course in front of those groups was wide open. Shot a 31 for those 6 holes. Figured I would have been at mid to upper 40's for the full 9.

79 at Haven Golf Club. Had one blow up hole. I 4 putted a par 3 for a triple!

I shot 33 at a par 27. I have been trying to lower my tempo, but if I go too slow, I hook it. That's what happened today...I did put great with my new NC putter!

Shot a 101 today at Turtle Creek. Overall I played fairly well, but kept burning the lip off the hole all day. One of the two guys I was grouped with by the starter even commented on that towards the end of the round. If the ball had been dropping instead, I probably would have been around a 95 or so. :confused2:

Still though, fun round with a pair of guys that drove over from Clearwater, FL to play the course before a scramble next weekend they were invited to. Great weather also - started around 65 when I got there, and ended up around 75 and sunny. Actually broke out the Greg Norman pants that had been hanging since back in March!

87 at Cog Hill yesterday. Had one disaster hole that made me seriously consider why I play this game. Greens seemed a bit slower than usual, so it was easier to be a little aggressive with the flat stick.

For those who didn't see it in other threads, I invited Pistol to come and play in our Fall Tri-Fecta. This is a two-man team tournament at our 27 hole facility, in which there are 3 team formats. On the Lake View 9, the format was two man scramble. On the Pine View 9, the format was better ball. And on the Island View 9, the format was alternating shot. We have won this tournament at least 4 and maybe 5 times in the past, but with both of us playing so much less this year, I am sure we both had lowered expectations.

We were paired with the two guys we that used to comprise our regular Saturday foursome until one moved to a course near his home a couple of years back, so it was a double homecoming of sorts. On the shotgun start we were assigned to start at #7 Island, which meant we began with alternating shot. We both hit good shots and got ourselves some nice birdie looks on all three alternating holes but didn't hole the putts, all in the 15 foot range. Then we turned to the Lake 9 and scramble. Pistol hit from the fairway bunker to about 12 feet at #1, and I drained the putt to finally get us under par. At par 5 #3 I hit driver - driver to 6 feet, and Pistol sank the eagle after I lipped it out. I followed that with a 9 iron six feet behind the flag at the par 3 #4 and rapped in the 'natural' birdie to get us to -4. After a pair of pars, Pistol hit a perfect layup and I hit an 83 yard LW to a foot at the par 5 7th to get us another birdie. Finally at the 9th from my long drive, Pistol wedged to 18 feet and made a downhill slider to finish off the scramble 9 with a six under par 30. We turned to the better ball 9, and Pistol put on a show. Pistol parred the first 6 holes, but at least on #3-#6 I was in first with pars that allowed him some free birdie rolls. Then at par 5 #7 Pistol pitched within a foot for birdie to give me a free eagle roll. We didn't make any of those free rolls but our team was -1 thru 7 better ball holes. Then at #8 Pistol wedged to within a foot for another birdie, and at #9 Pistol snaked down a 18 foot downhill sidehill roller coaster twister to polish off a personal and a team three under 33 (I shot 37). So, we turned back to Island View for 6 holes of alternating shot at -9. At #1,#2, and #3 I had the tee, and hit three dead perfect drives. Pistol put all 3 on the greens, and finally at #3 I sank the birdie. That changed the rotation, so Pistol teed off #4 also perfectly, and I hit 7 iron to 10 feet, but Pistol's birdie attempt just slid by. Then we had our only poor hole of the day. Pistol drove left on the tongue of the fairway bunker, and I fatted a 9 iron to the front left fringe. Pistol then overspun his pitch and I couldn't convert the 25 foot par. Our last hole was the island green 6th - I managed to get on the green, but left Pistol a 50 foot bomb over the center ridge - he did quite well to get it to 4 feet, and I managed to pour that nervous putt in center cut. That gave us an even par 36 in alternate shot, and a day's total of 30-33-36 - 99, 9 under par. After we got to the clubhouse we learned that the teams we knew to be the most competitive had shot 100, and after a bit the scores were announced and we had won.

And if the day wasn't good enough, we came back home and watched his Gators beat South Carolina, and then watched the latter part of my Dawgs getting past Auburn, another lovely day in the SEC.

Yeah for SAM! Sounds like a great day. :blob:

Great result to a wonderful day Sam!

I shot a 86 today. Hit my driver as well as I have all year, some long long shots and played pretty decent with my mid irons as well. Short irons, chipping and putting killed me today. I questioned why I play this game a few times inside 100 yards. Here's the real killer. I was 8 over with 5 holes to go and finished double bogey, par, double bogey, bogey, bogey. I was furious with the way I finished my round today and I need to get a mental evaluation.

79 on Sunday-short game was working quite well.

Played the back nine -1 which is the first time ever under par for me for 9 holes. Finished with a 76 after shooting +5 on the front.

That's great Pjcedog. You must be very excited.

I lost count after the 6th hole. The wind blew the ball all over at the Presideo, including the score card and pencil that's why I couldn't keep count...:banana:I'm just getting ready for the weekend. I have yet to beat my dad (after 20 years), I might have a shot this time.

Good luck, golfingcop. Stick it to him (respectfully of course).

Shot 80, because of my new driver. Was not consistant off the tee at all. I went back to my old driver in the middle of the round (R7 SuperQuad 10.5 with UST V2 66 S) at was crushing the ball. I was on with my wedges and irons. I hit a 5 iron to 15 ft from 180 in to a little wind, and almost holed a 59* wedge from 85 yards. 1 inch from my 1st Eagle! Well, there is always next time! I also putted much better with my new putter. I had much much better pace on putts, but did misread a few putts!

- BTW, congrats to Slammin' Sam on the win! Congrats to your friend too about the Gator game, I'll be pulling for them since USC has turned into a pile.....:banghead:

Nice round Kaboodle.

84 for my troubles today. 13 bogies, and 5 pars. Just not enough 1 putt pars today. :D Greens were a little bumpy, which does not mean squat since my GIRs were few, and far between. Plus I did not dress for the cooler weather we are having right now. Did not get real cold, just uncomfortable. Maybe again tomorrow.
