Who's your favorite 'non-American' golfer & why?

On the men's side, I've always been a huge Nick Price fan. Classy

On the women's side, Anna Rawson. Schwing!

This one's for you Grogger31.

He kinda reminds me of Jim Carrey with some of the facial expressions he makes. Did everybody see him do the "Happy Gilmore" in Playing Lessons bloopers?

Yeah man, he really killed that ball, I want to know how far he hit it.

If I try the "Happy Gilmore" I usually completely miss the ball. But on the off chance that I hit the ball it flies.

That is the picture. His expression looks like a man constipated.

I think that expression makes him look like a beaver

My favourite tour player is Sergio, even though I'm an aussie. Not too many tour players have walked up to me and said "G'day mate" and followed up with "No wuchen forries, mate". Sergio did at the 2003 US Open at Olympia Fields on the 16th tee as I let him in through the ropes (marshall). He learnt our sayings from his assie caddy Glen Murray. Sergio justs looks like he is having fun, every body likes him on tour.

What does that mean - No wuchen forries?

razaar, that story is an absolute scream. :rotfl:

[If my Northern Hemisphere colleagues are a bit lost by some of the 'subtleties', please PM me for an explanation]

HAHA, ok. I was stymied as to why Brad would tell me to PM him, and just not tell me! There you go.

So is that actually the way they say it, wuckin' forries, or did you just censor it for the board?

The former. It's larrikin'ish Aussie slang.

I found the below explanation on Urban Dictionary. I've cleaned it up a little. This is a family show after all.

"No Wuckers
A slang term which originally started with "no worries". People would often say "no f[censored]n' worries" to enhance the original phrase. Then, in a strange way, there was a period of time (probably back in the 80's) when folk would transpose the first letters of certain words. "No f[censored]n' worries" became "no wuckin' forries". The fourth phase of this odd phrase progression resulted in "no wuckers". It's a combination of laziness and playing with words, and a great example of the progressive nature of colloquial speech.

Either way, it means "there will be no problems at all". It is often suffixed by "mate"."

I'm going to go with Trevor Immelman. At the 2007 Deutsche Bank championship I had the chance to talk to him on the range. It was a rainy practice day and I sat in the rain with no raingear just watching some of the pro's hit balls. Being my first event I didnt even think of planning for inclement weather. Anyways, he came oveer to me after hitting some wedges and out of the blue started talking to me about things. Apparently he was bored... to make the story short he went into the Nike Van and gave me a jacket and an umbrella

he's a solid dude, plus his swing... impressive to say the least

Neat story, DD!

yeah... I mean it wasnt anything fancy or tour exclusive but I was soaked so it was nice gesture.

we just talked golf for probably 15-20 minutes, but not the typical conversation. you could tell he really loves the game

favorite aussie will always be bruce crampton, love the epic battles between him and jack

I really like Sergio Garcia! He just seems like a really nice guy, shy boy type....I think he shows respect to his fellow golfers when he plays. Just my opinion.

He was a little bit before my time but his story is fascinating.

"Crampton won the Vardon Trophy for the player with the lowest stroke average on the PGA Tour in 1973 and 1975. He had 14 career wins on the PGA Tour between 1961 and 1975 and was runner up in four major championships – one Masters, one U.S. Open, and two PGA Championships – all to Jack Nicklaus. He was ranked among the top five golfers in the world in both 1972 and 1973, according to Mark McCormack's world golf rankings. His other regular career victories included the Australian Open, New Zealand PGA Championship, Far East Open and the Philippine Open. As a senior he won 20 times on the Champions Tour, and topped the money list in 1986, but he did not win a senior major."

I was going to post the video but I figure everybody has seen it. Don't get me wrong, I like Sergio, but what the hell was that?

Haven't seen it MO_Hacker. Do tell??

Sergio missed a putt and hocked a big lugee (sp?) into the cup after he pulled his ball out.

Tres gross for the people behind him. They asked him about it after the round and he said it "went through the hole in the cup, so it wouldn't bother anyone else... otherwise he would have cleaned it.

B.S.

And he's thrown tantrums too. Not Tiger tantrums, but throwing stuff, yelling at spectators.

I was a fan a few years ago. Not so much anymore.

ganja

Jack Nicklaus?? Crampton was a tosser nobody could stand him on the tour not even his countrymen or his numerous caddies. Mate I would bet money his mother threw a party when he left to play golf in America. Great golf swing, great ego, great pain in the ass.
